Sitting within the Chief Executive’s Office, this new position of Internal Communications and Team Executive, will play a key role in delivering high-quality internal communications across ARUK. The Internal Communications Team exists to ensure every employee feels valued, included and informed. We are facilitators, ensuring employees have the tools they need to feel heard and empowered to engage authentically within the organisation, leading us closer to a cure.

Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Officer, they will be a key member of the Chief Executive Office Team. They will also provide administrative support to the team, the Director of Strategy and Governance and our Board of Trustees to carry out their roles efficiently and to support delivery of ARUK’s strategy and CEO office team objectives.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Internal Communications

· Manage monthly intranet metrics and reporting.

· Support teams on Internal Communications events, including the all-employee away day, annual picnics, Monthly Coffee Mornings, Board/Trustee activity, and other relevant areas.

· Work as part of the Internal Communications Team to deliver regular CEO Comms.

· Support the wider CEO Office Team with their internal communications needs.

Strategy and Governance

· Work with the Director of Strategy and Governance to provide support on key priority projects relating to strategy delivery and internal communications.

· Provide administrative and logistical support for our annual planning and budgeting process.

· Support the team with the logistics and organisation around Board meetings.

Administrative and Team support

· Learn how to use/and be proactive in using the organisation's CRM system (Salesforce) to record key activity for the CEO Office Team.

· Help arrange and service CEO Office team activities throughout the year, including team meetings, away days and development opportunities.

· Support the Executive Support team in providing administrative support to the Chief Executive and other Directors as required, including completing expenses, arranging travel and booking meeting rooms.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

We are seeking an organised, data-driven, and creative Individual Giving Officer to support the delivery of high-quality fundraising campaigns that inspire supporters and grow income for Southampton Hospitals Charity. 

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging direct marketing campaigns across print, digital and email channels, with a particular focus on one-off appeals, regular donations, and incentivised giving products. 

Working closely with the Marketing & Campaigns Manager and Marketing & Communications Officer, you will develop audience-led supporter journeys, compelling fundraising copy, and test-and-learn approaches to build lasting supporter relationships and maximise income from individual giving. 

Main Responsibilities: 

Campaign development and delivery 

• Work with the Campaigns & Marketing Manager to plan and deliver a calendar of direct marketing campaigns across print, email, and digital, focused on income generation and donor retention. 

• Work with the Marketing and Communications Officer to develop compelling, supporter-centred fundraising copy for appeals, donation forms, landing pages, emails, and stewardship content. 

• Coordinate campaign production, from creative briefing to print and fulfilment, working with suppliers, designers, and mailing house partners as needed. 

• Lead on campaign timelines and ensure activity is delivered on time and within budget. 

• Work with colleagues across the charity to gather impactful case studies and project updates for use in donor communications. 

• Manage and maintain campaign collateral such as templates, thank-you letters, and welcome packs, ensuring brand and message consistency. 

Supporter journeys & stewardship 

• Develop and implement supporter journeys for new and existing individual givers, ensuring timely and relevant follow-ups to donations. 

• Identify opportunities to improve retention and upgrade rates through targeted communications and segmentation. 

• Ensure all donor touchpoints (e.g. donation forms, thank-you pages, emails) provide an excellent experience. 

• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Operation teams to ensure donor communications align with wider charity messaging.

Data & insight 

• Work with Database & Insights Officer to segment data, analyse results, and inform decision-making.

About the role

Our dedicated team moderates our full-service accounts (all organic content and paid ads) as well as one-off campaigns and appeals for some of the most recognisable charities in the sector. 

This role is perfect for skilled comms experts who can provide excellent supporter care and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9 am (or earlier), wrap up by 9 pm and adhere to our sub-three-hour response time. 

Our moderators must have a minimum of three years’ in-house, third-sector comms experience. 

As a Social Media Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines and tone of voice at all times

• Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

• Managing your own time and work on own initiative

• Working across a range of social media management tools

• Responding/actioning to all comments and queries in under three hours

• Maximising donations when required 

• Going above and beyond at all times to provide supporters with an incredible experience

Our moderation takes place between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday-Sunday. 

Different accounts will require varying levels of ‘active’ hours (defined as time spent taking action). You will split your active hours between 9am and 9pm. For example, for an account which requires three active hours, you might carry out your work in six, thirty minute instalments throughout the shift.

As you gain experience, you will be allocated multiple accounts which will enable you to increase your hours worked. 

Whilst you need to be on hand to monitor your accounts during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional comms experience, working with a large charity with an active social media following. Working to the Strategic Communications Lead for Scotland you will be responsible for telling the story of our dormant assets funding across social media, press and digital platforms to a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities include:

• leading on all regular announcements of dormant assets funding to the media and stakeholders
• interviewing young people behind the projects to produce engaging content for media features, case studies and online social media channels
• managing the yearly production of the Young Start Annual Report, at the request of the Scottish Government.

An incredibly rare in-house opportunity for a self-motivated & collaborative Communications Officer to join one of the City of London’s most historic and prestigious organisations. 

Founded in 1617, The Society of Apothecaries was set up as a members’ association specifically to support doctors, pharmacists, and other health professionals, with the purpose of furthering education, research and innovation in the medical field. Today, the Society, continues to support medical students who are struggling financially and through our Centre for Health Studies, runs a wide range of educational programmes including, post-graduate Medical Diplomas, courses and lectures open to the General Public.  Our members are still predominantly medical professionals.  We are based at the wonderful C17th Apothecaries Hall, a Grade 1 listed building and Scheduled Ancient Monument, where we host a wide range of events including black- and white-tie dinners.   

The Communications Officer reports directly to the Senior Leadership Team and sits at the centre of all the Society’s activities.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who believes that excellent communications have the power to bring people together to facilitate change.  You will have the opportunity to develop this role, which is creative, varied and has huge impact.

You will:

1. Manage the communications and engagement functions in-house to serve all areas of the Society.

2. In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team & key stakeholders, manage the annual pattern of communications & engagement activities required and ensure key deadlines are met.

3. Be the guardian of the Society’s brand including visual content, tone of voice and owned channels of communication; working with external branding consultants where applicable, act as the main point of contact for checking & editing materials destined for Society and external audiences to ensure they comply with agreed branding.

4. Work across the Society to ensure consistency of message in all communications.

5. Build and maintain relationships across all internal departments to develop, coordinate and facilitate effective communications.

6. Through excellent relationship management with all key stakeholders, be aware of current activities across all of the Society’s branches.

7. Develop & deliver content across the Society’s communications channels, e.g. website, digital newsletters, social media, media relations, printed and digital leaflets, following agreed approval processes and in collaboration with relevant teams.

8. Act as the webmaster for the Society’s website; administering updates within agreed approval processes.

9. Market the Society’s activities including events, lectures, examinations, and courses to attract attendance.

10.  Lead the annual production of key Society engagement materials, including the Society Members’ Handbook, Apothecary journal and Galen Awards Ceremony brochure, managing and liaising with key contributors (including volunteers) to ensure timelines are met.

11.  Evaluate the success of communications activities against the Society’s goals and objectives to inform the way forward.

12.  Report and collaborate on communications activities by organising and minuting monthly comms meetings.

13.  Have a strong awareness of the Society’s purpose and objectives, through familiarity with the Communications Strategy, Society’s Standing Orders & By-laws, output of Committees and operational strategic plans.

Pause works to improve the lives of women who have had more than one child removed from their care, and the services and systems that affect them.

As Communications and Policy Officer, your role will be to raise awareness and increase understanding of Pause and the experiences of the women we work with in order to achieve positive change at both a national and local level.

This is a new role, sitting within the Partnerships and Engagement team, although you will work with colleagues across the whole organisation.

You will work with the team to influence change by delivering creative communications activity and maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders. This will involve working closely with our Impact and Influencing Lead as well as our colleagues in practice, participation and engagement, so that you can learn from those with lived experience and ensure their voices are at the forefront.

The Communications Department at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) informs, inspires and engages our many audiences about dementia and the progress being made in research. The Strategic Communications Officer will be part of the Strategic Communications team – one of several specialist teams in the wider Department.

The Strategic Communications Officer will be responsible for producing high-quality and compelling communications to raise the profile of the charity and rally much-needed support for the cause.

They will play a vital role in shaping our brand, driving impactful campaigns, and supporting fundraising initiatives that help accelerate the search for a cure for dementia.

The postholder will also empower teams across the charity to consistently deliver key messages through exceptional storytelling, to reach Alzheimer’s Research UK’s core audiences. 

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Working with the Senior Strategic Communications Manager, lead on communications for charity-wide key moments, including co-ordinating activity, developing key messaging and narrative, and creating compelling content that can be used across teams. Effectively measure the impact of this work.

· Help ensure consistent, powerful storytelling, amplifying our key messages, across all platforms including web, email, social and video.

· Work closely with teams to ensure their content embodies Alzheimer’s Research UK tone of voice.

· Prepare, write, pitch and issue media stories to generate coverage for our initiatives and campaigns.

· Establish and develop valuable and productive relationships with journalists; respond promptly to queries, including occasional out-of-hours queries.

· Develop effective relationships with teams across Alzheimer's Research UK’s Communications, Policy and Involvement (PCI) Directorate, and Fundraising & Marketing (F&M) Directorate, in order to identify and deliver on communications needs.

· Attend and/or organise appropriate meetings and events – these will require some travel and occasional unsociable hours.

What we are looking for:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Confidence working with computers; knowledge of Microsoft office packages and databases, good keyboard skills.

· Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage a large number of tasks with internal and external stakeholders to multiple deadlines.

· Ability to communicate appropriately with people affected by dementia and to translate scientific work for lay people; knowledge of dementia and/or science is advantageous, but not a requirement.

· Experience working in the PR, marketing or brand sector.

· Experience of supporting or co-ordinating partnership working.

· Experience of delivering communications programmes through a variety of media (e.g. press, social media, email, events).

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to: Rector

Hours: Up to 18 hours per week (0.52 FTE at 35 hours per week) with occasional evening events or meetings. Core working hours are 9.30am-3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Salary £29,061 pro rata, i.e. £14,945.67. Up to 4% employer and 4% employee pension contributions

PURPOSE

The Communications Lead will develop and optimise each communications channel so that the churches of St Matthew and St Paul connect well with each other and the wider community.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with the Rector and other clergy and staff, the Communications Lead is responsible for the following:

1. Strategy & planning

• With the Rector, prepare and implement an annual communications plan around key events and special services for the parish
• Maintain and develop the parish’s visual branding and style

2. Communications channels

• Oversee the generation of content for each channel, edit content produced by others for accuracy and appropriateness, and produce content, as required
• Website – develop the website to optimise its usefulness [NB a new website design is underway]
• Weekly Email – produce the weekly Mailchimp email
• Social Media – maintain and grow audiences on Facebook and Instagram; schedule content using Meta business suite
• Magazine – create a fun and informative printed magazine in-house three times a year (currently done using Canva)
• Video – record a weekly video message with one of the clergy, for use in the weekly email; produce other videos as and when required
• Youtube – manage the parish’s Youtube channel
• Produce materials and promote services and events across key periods in the church’s calendar (e.g. Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter), through printed and online channels
• Promote the parish’s outreach groups and events (e.g. Coffee Pot, Bumps & Babies, Have a Meal on Us and Community Day), through printed and online channels
• Produce other printed materials as necessary (e.g. leaflets, posters, flyers and roller banners), in keeping with our branding
• Photography – take pictures when required, adhering to the parish’s safeguarding and consent policies; organise church volunteers to capture images when necessary

3. Other responsibilities

• Staff the church office on Tuesdays and Thursdays (e.g. answering calls and questions from volunteers and/or people hiring the hall).
• Liaise, as necessary, with the diocesan and cathedral communications teams
• Complete all necessary training and comply fully with all safeguarding, health & safety and risk management procedures
• Attend meetings as indicated by the Rector
• Other duties commensurate with the role, as may be required
