About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

Is an exciting new edition to the TUR team, created to capitalise on the fact that the number of businesses in our catchment area is 45000+, but we’re not trying to talk to all of them, just target a few – ideally by gaining referrals and recommendations. So the job is to proactively find those local businesses happy to talk to us, understand what they might be looking for by partnering with a charity, share our brilliant story along with the business case (which is strong) for them to get involved with us in some way. We have made an excellent start, we already have a small number of great corporate partners, and this job is about taking it all on to the next level. As you would expect the role is about creating contacts, networking, maximising the face-to-face time with prospective partners and where possible gaining referrals. And, ultimately this is all because, the bigger our portfolio of corporate partners all feeling great about their involvement with us, the more able we are to raise the funds we need to keep up with an ever-increasing demand for our services.

About You

You live within - or know well, West/Central London, you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the product or service you’re talking about. You have a CV that demonstrates solid experience in a comparable role in a ‘business-to-business’ environment, a role - the success of which, is dependent on the levels of energy and proactivity you provide. This could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. However, if you have a solid B2B background and want to explore a change of direction you are also very welcome to apply. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ your story through your presentation skills. You also need great listening skills so you can build a picture of what each new corporate partner is looking to achieve by signing up to our cause. You have used Microsoft suite products before – including PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality information and support in an empathetic and professional manner.
• Conduct a holistic needs assessments for each service user according to their individual circumstances
• Working with each service user to establish the most appropriate sources of support, and agree an action/support plan with them
• Provide a face to face service when there is an over-riding need to do so by visiting service users
• Collaborate with other agencies/service providers who can offer additional support options
• Liaise with partners, ensuring that agreed actions are followed up
• Log and communicate details of cases in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that records are up to date and the wider team has the information they need to provide support.

• Contribute constructively to the development of the Service Provision team and function, for the benefit of service users.

Person Specification:

Essential

• Experience providing services to vulnerable service users, listening and supporting in a non-judgemental way.
• Knowledge and insight into state benefits and complementary support services (whether national / local / statutory agencies.
• Excellent communication skills, being able to establish rapport and build trust quickly.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Events team at The Not Forgotten as a hands-on operational Events Manager. We are looking for a professional events coordinator who seeks greater autonomy and managerial responsibility, while still being an expert at and willing to deliver the nuts and bolts of a wide variety of events within a very small team. This is all about exceptional people skills, pragmatic event delivery and ensuring maximum impact for our beneficiaries/benefactors/supporters in support of the Head of Events (Delivery) and Head of Fundraising. 

Overall responsibility of the job: Working in support of Head of Events (Delivery) and Head of Fundraising, to be TNF Events Manager; coordinating events as part of a small team. The position supports the delivery of a diverse national events programme and some international activities.

Your Role: As an event professional, ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience gained in an event coordination role and be ready to grow into a role with greater responsibility and autonomy. This is a hands-on event coordination role in a small team. Having a diplomatic and friendly manner with strong verbal and written communication skills, will be essential towards building relationships both internally and externally and while communicating with volunteers and beneficiaries. Event management/coordination skills are a key priority within this position, (especially delegate/beneficiary and event administration), combined with a meticulous, accurate and disciplined approach to work with strong IT and data management skills. Being able to prioritise a varied and busy workload and deliver to deadlines. Due to the nature of this exciting position within the charity, there is a requirement to attend events and meetings outside of normal working hours (including weekends) and travel as necessary, along with a relationship with beneficiaries, supporters, and gatekeepers.

We are looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer with at least two years of relevant experience, who will be able to contribute to our new VCS Capacity Building contract.

Having a good level of experience in producing and designing communications content, excellent copy writing skills with the ability to create clear and compelling content, excellent attention to detail and a strong track record in developing communications which stand out and increase both engagement and awareness.

Someone who enjoys working with the local community and able to use their communication and engagement skills to ensure we are reaching all parts of the VCS community within the Borough of Haringey. Having knowledge of the VCS within Haringey would be an advantage, but not essential.

The role

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice delivers the Voluntary and Community (VCS) Capacity Building contract commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey. The contract, which runs from May 2024 to April 2027 can be extended for a further four years at the discretion of the Client. Day-to-day management of the Community Collaborative service is the responsibility of the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager.

Eclipse is looking for a competent, organised and experienced Finance and Operations Manager to join the organisation during a period of transition.  The Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the finance support service for the organisation together with operational support for Governance, Admin & HR.

This is an opportunity to play a vital role in the organisation as it develops and instigates an exciting and ambitious new set of plans over the next six months.  You will be working directly with senior leaders and trustees, and line-manage an Administrator utilising strong financial and administrative skills to manage the charity’s finances and day to day operations.

Purpose of the Post

• To Provide financial leadership and to be accountable for financial reporting to the leadership team, Board, and stakeholders.
• To be responsible for effective management of the day-to-day office administration, and HR processes.
• To undertake company secretarial duties to ensure compliance with statutory requirement and relevant legislation.
• To work directly with the leadership team and board supporting business planning, organisational development, and to ensure Eclipse meets its aims and objectives.

The Finance and Operations Manager is a key relationship for internal staff and suppliers as well as fielding enquiries from artists, partners and the general public.

Terms and Conditions

Salary: £35,000 gross per annum (pro rata if applicable)

Location: Working from home with some working from company office in Leeds with reasonable notice

FTE / Hours: Full Time (1.0 FTE) at 35 hours per week, plus a compulsory break for one hour. Part-time options of 0.5 to 0.8 FTE would be accepted.

Holidays: 28 days per year (including statutory Bank Holidays), pro rata if applicable

Role responsibilities
The Finance & Operations Manager is responsible for:

Finance

• Preparation, monitoring, and control of the budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Provision of clear and timely management accounts to the senior team and Board of Trustees.
• Administration of the company’s financial systems through day-to-day bookkeeping including data entry, management of petty cash, processing of invoices and bank reconciliation.
• Liaising with the external payroll provider and payment of monthly salaries.
• Overseeing the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and management of the annual independent examination.
• Supporting in the delivery of an annual report or funder reports as needed, including Arts Council England NPO reporting requirements and quarterly payment conditions. 

Governance

• Leading on the arrangements for Board Meetings and Away Days: minute taking, writing and circulating agenda and documentation, post-meeting minutes and communicating with the Trustees pre-meeting on location, time and attendance.

Role Overview:
The Talent Set is thrilled to working with a well known medical charity as they hunt for an Senior Internal Communications and Engagement Officer to support them for a 12-month period. 

Using your internal communications skills and understanding of organisational change management, you’ll coordinate, plan and deliver effective engagement strategies for internal change programmes across the charity. 

Working primarily between the Internal Engagement & Communications and Delivery Services teams, you’ll collaborate on, plan, and deliver communication strategies that take colleagues on a supported journey through change, creating content that translates complex topics into compelling narratives to drive participation and adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and deliver an engagement strategy for internal change communications within the charity, which helps support colleagues with the understanding and adoption of change.
• Plan and create content for internal channels, selecting the most appropriate tools to ensure colleagues are kept informed and engaged, regardless of location or working style. 
• Use audience and business insight to develop engagement strategies that are tailored to recipients, appreciating that colleagues are based in different locations and roles.
• Oversee the involvement of various groups across the charity, to enable us to hear the voices and opinions of our workforce.
• Build effective relationships across the charity, acting as a trusted adviser to project teams, leaders and colleagues.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience in developing and implementing successful internal communication and engagement strategies, ideally including for change related programmes.
•  Strong planning skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to translate complex topics and create compelling narrative for different audiences.
• An understanding of change adoption processes (e.g. PROSCI/ADKAR) is beneficial but not essential.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proven experience of influencing and collaborating to achieve positive outcomes and engagement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to think creatively.

• Integral to growing brand awareness of CoppaFeel! amongst 18 - 24 year olds by repositioning CoppaFeel! as a youth charity brand that resonates with our Gen Z target audience and is future proofed for Gen Alpha. 
• Build out audience insights, audience segmentation and campaign targeting.
• Oversee all marketing outputs and plans related to paid media owning the execution and tracking. 
• Write briefs and manage timelines for design, social and external agencies.
• Support managing the relationships with PR, creative and media agencies.
• Drive innovative ideas forward that deliver cost effective results by monitoring audience insights, industry news and sector leading executions.

This pivotal role will be responsible for the selection, training and deployment of our volunteers across all service areas. A key focus will be to facilitate effective training pathways for paid staff and volunteers.
