About the role

You’ll support effective governance and compliance by coordinating key processes, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with regulatory obligations across the charity.

Job Purpose

About the Role

Our Ayrshire and Arran Infant Feeding Peer Support Project is commissioned by NHS Ayrshire and Arran to offer infant feeding support as part of the integrated Infant Feeding service. The support is delivered, on a one to one basis to the families from an antenatal through to when your baby is 6-8 weeks old, in families homes, via phone, text and video calls.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Providing one to one breastfeeding support to families within Ayrshire and Arran, at peoples homes, via phone, text and video calls.

· Inputting information onto patients records within platforms used by the health professionals in the region.

· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.  

· To attend regular supervision/support sessions. 

· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Ayrshire and Arran area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 16 hours per week which to be worked in 4 hours shifts over 4 days. This role is based within the community across Ayrshire and Arran.

AfID is recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist in international NGO grant audit services for development donors such as the UN and the World Bank. Assignments would suit experienced qualified audit professionals with grant audit / management experience, ideally in a not-for-profit/ international development context

Role overview.

Complete international grant expenditure audits for a diverse range of projects (grant recipients) funded by international donor institutions ranging from emergency aid, to long term development in areas such as agriculture, health or infrastructure or technical research. Assignments are 1-3 weeks in length and based across the European mainland and the developing world. These are offered on an assignment by assignment basis, one to two months in advance.

Contractors can be based outside the UK 

Requirements

• Qualified ACA / ACCA or equivalent – 5+ years post qualified experience
• Grant management and audit and reporting experience with international institutions. Preference given to individuals that have worked on UN or EC grant assurance assignments
• Diplomacy and cultural sensitivity while working with a hugely diverse range of clients and beneficiaries
• A real interest in international development and associated funding structures
• Ideally professional/ fluency in a second language such as Spanish, German, French, Portugese
• Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills in English.

• At least 5-10+ years of relevant audit experience
• Ability to work under pressure; Strong planning, organisational and time management skills

Passionate about international travel and development and willing to work in international locations. Individual must be prepared to travel to challenging locations when it is deemed safe to do so. Purpose of the Role

This exciting new role is about creating connections, building ecosystems and developing and strengthening relationships that power social justice movements. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will work closely with the CEO to lead our partnerships and community engagement work — creating the enabling conditions and networks that help youth-led movements grow, sustain, and make lasting change.

You will take lead on:

• Partnering with other funders to resource youth-led change, including co-designed and co-held programmes with other foundations.
• Developing community partnerships based on the needs and priorities of the young people we are here to serve - including charities, local businesses, and local authorities.
• Understanding the landscape of youth-led change and social justice work, identifying gaps in support and guiding our investment to help fill them, both at the national and local level.
• Monitoring and communicating the impact of our work with external audiences.
• Ensuring our work is grounded in safeguarding practices that minimise harm and uphold our commitment to care, equity and justice.

This is a key role within Learning and Work Institute, with responsibility for delivering high quality research, analysis and evaluation across learning, skills and employment.

Day to day duties:

• Design and deliver high quality research, analysis and evaluation, to time and budget. Researchers will work on a wide range of mixed methods research and evaluation projects across the learning, skills and employment sector.
• Manage small projects and lead on elements of large projects.
• Develop and implement appropriate research methodologies and methods, evaluation strategies and research tools. Projects generally include a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods, such as semi-structured interviews, focus groups, evidence reviews, surveys, analysis of management information and secondary data analysis.
•  Develop and manage systems for gathering, recording, analysing and presenting data from a range of projects for maximum impact.
• Contribute to the production of high-quality research, policy and evaluation reports, interpreting evidence in a way that is accessible to a wide range of audiences.
• Disseminate research findings through written reports, media articles, blogs and presentations. Communicate the work of L&W through print and broadcast media. Represent L&W at events and external meetings. 
• Support income generation by contributing to the preparation of funding proposals and responses to tenders.
• Undertake project administration and coordination tasks related to research activity.
• Supervise interns, associates and temporary staff, as required, including possible line management responsibility for research interns.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge and experience of a range of social research methods and an interest in the policy context for learning, skills and employment.

Essential criteria:

• Relevant degree, equivalent qualification(s) or evidence of equivalent experience.
• Understanding and application of a range of research, analysis and evaluation methodologies and methods.
• Ability to develop and use appropriate methods and tools to support high quality research.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills, that ensure work is effectively prioritised to meet deadlines.
• Strong track record of organising, co-ordinating and managing a range of activities against competing deadlines and priorities.
• Ability to work, unsupervised, under own initiative with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a range of audiences, stakeholders, funders and partners.
• Ability to write for and speak to a range of audiences to ensure impact.

Desirable Criteria:

• Ability to use a range of quantitative research methods with minimal guidance, such as survey design and analysis, data management, summary and descriptive statistics and the use of software for data analysis and visualisation (e.g. Excel, SPSS, Stata, R.
• Understanding of learning, skills and/or employment policy and/or practice across England and/or Wales.

Respect is a pioneering UK membership organisation in the domestic abuse sector. Founded in 2000, we have built our expertise over the last 25 years in what was then a fledgling sector. We have seen rapid growth over the last few years and now have 60+ staff running a range of projects and core activities and have ambitious plans for further growth and influence. 

We work with our members, partners, and allies to stop the harms done by those who perpetrate domestic abuse. With innovative practice, robust research, and quality data, we build evidence of what works, promote safe, effective practice and drive high standards. We use our voice, in collaboration with others, to call for a response to domestic abuse that matches the scale of the problem.

We will not stop, until domestic abuse stops.

This is a pivotal new role which sits firmly on the Executive Leadership Team and oversees the strategic direction, financial accountability, and best practice of our portfolio of projects and programmes.

Managing a team of highly skilled Heads of programmes, you will be responsible for providing strategic oversight of 50+ practice-focused staff, for developing and implementing systems that support collaborative working, shared best practice, donor compliance, and robust communication.

The successful candidate will also collaborate with senior colleagues to help Respect implement its overall strategy to grow sustainably and realise the opportunities that the growth in interest in our work is bringing. To this end we are looking for an experienced senior leader with an extensive track record in leading multiple and complex workstreams while always being conscious of risk. Your experience is likely to also include acting as a senior representative for Respect externally, particularly with funders, national and local government stakeholders, and with the perpetrator and wider domestic abuse sector.
