Senior Philanthropy Manager

The Christie Charity is a vibrant, fast moving, energetic organisation with a passionate team and a fantastic reputation. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic senior philanthropy manager to join our philanthropy team. We require someone who has demonstrable experience in philanthropy fundraising or has strong transferable skills. It is desirable that you have experience in managing people as this role manages a philanthropy fundraiser.

As a Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will play a key role in maximising charitable income for The Christie Charity, through high-net-worth individuals by building with authentic, sustainable relationships.

We are looking for an exceptional Grants Commissioning Manager (Scotland), with a focus on Faslane. This is a senior management role working as part of the Grants team within the RNRMC at a time when the Charity’s strategy has a real focus on beneficiary need and impact, managing RNRMC commissioned grants in Scotland, ensuring that the funds are awarded in accordance with the Charities Values and Outcomes Framework.    

The role will work strategically with The Director of Relationships and Funding to support and deliver the charities funding plans for Scotland and support the Head of Commissioned Grants with all elements of the commissioning cycle including understanding need, designing projects, performance management of delivery and reporting of impact.  Working with internal and external stakeholders, the role will involve the oversight and good governance of grants programmes to ensure quality, evidenced outputs, and value for money of projects.      

In addition, you will lead and manage the Grants Administrator (Scotland, taking responsibility for actively and proactively supporting them to achieve in their post.

You will also possess good organisational skills and be able to prioritise a varied and busy workload and deliver to deadlines.  You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, be able to think strategically to resolve problems and make recommendations and present options for approval.

DFN Project SEARCH offer an evidence-based supported internship model which takes place entirely in the workplace.  The programmes provide continuous support to young adults with a learning disability, and autistic people who are aged between 16 – 24 with an Education Health and Care Plan, or equivalent, in their final year of education.

You will be required to identify opportunities to develop and grow DFN Project SEARCH programmes across a geographical area with the aim of supporting the organisation to ensure that as many people as need it have access to DFN Project SEARCH programmes.

In addition, you will be required to develop strategies to ensure that the operational programmes in your area are achieving at least the average outcomes expected for young people in our programmes and so you must be committed to continuous improvement.

You will be specifically required to develop strong partnerships and train and support colleagues within your area. You may also be required to support colleagues promoting DFN Project SEARCH in other areas, further European projects as required and contribute to the development of relevant UK focussed materials.

As a Programme Specialist you will be expected to:

• Demonstrate effective project planning and preparation so that each project delivers achieves the highest quality programme possible and outstanding employment outcomes for the interns.
• Establish effective working relationships with schools, colleges, local authorities, employers and the project professional staff to promote the building of excellent, high quality partnerships at each site to ensure the effective running of programmes and promote sustainability in a volatile environment.
• Take an active part in decision making, planning and audit processes of each project
• Ensure that you implement DFN Project SEARCH policy and have a clear understanding of required quality standards and criteria which constitute effective teaching and learning
   

About this role

At SPANA, we support a network of global partners working through both a short- term small grants and long- term programmes – known as our Senior Partners. The Solutions Technology Team are dedicated to enhancing the delivery technology solutions we provide. Data underpins the insight that informs our decisions and shapes the way we build lasting relationships with our customers — from service users and fundraisers to campaigners and volunteers. With a focus on aligning technology solutions with business needs, the Solutions Manager will review requirements and turn them into clear, actionable project plans. You’ll also manage the general maintenance of our bespoke in-house applications, which include bespoke ETL system, and front-end web applications.

You’ll be supporting the Head of Technology and Solutions with software architecture, databases support, network infrastructure, and relevant programming languages to a degree that enables you to grasp technical discussions and identify potential challenges.  Our in-house development platforms are built using PHP and Microsoft SQL Server and leverage robotic automation tools such as Toca.io and Power Automate all hosted-on Azure cloud infrastructure. 

Acting as line manager, you’ll oversee and coordinate the day-to-day work of our Solutions technology team, supporting two Developers, a Business Analyst and third-party developers to deliver projects on time and in line with business needs.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Solutions Manager with a strong understanding of the development lifecycle, business analysis, requirements gathering, database design, optimisation, and general programming. You’ll need to be comfortable overseeing and helping to shape the architecture of our bespoke in-house applications, while taking ownership of existing systems — understanding how they’re built, how they work, and the part they play within the organisation.

You’ll have proven experience in managing teams (both in-house and external) and providing coaching and development opportunities to help your team perform at their best. Experience with both Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) will be essential, as you lead the team to deliver high-quality, timely solutions.

Problem-solving and decision-making will be at the heart of your role, and your excellent communication skills will enable you to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, from technical teams to non-technical stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone who wants to join our busy charity to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives. With experience in bookkeeping and financial administration, you will love numbers (and spreadsheets), have great attention to detail and be an excellent communicator.  Working closely with the Director, you will be responsible for the administration of the Charity’s finances, including lots of different projects, accounts and a wide variety of transactions. • Weekly - invoice processing, payments, petty cash, bank deposits and reconciliation etc

The Asylum Reform Initiative (ARI) is an alliance of nine leading national organisations collaborating to secure deep change towards a fair, compassionate and well-managed UK approach to refugees. Central to its strategy has been incubating, launching and backing the broader, public-facing Together With Refugees campaign coalition, now with over 600 national and local member groups from across the refugee sector and beyond. The ARI team provides a dynamic hub that supports Together With Refugees, coordinating the development and delivery of the coalition’s campaign strategy.

About the role

This is a new role. Working closely with the rest of the ARI team, One Strong Voice, and the newly formed Together With Refugees Steering Group, it will play a key part in shaping and delivering the ambitious next phase of the Together With Refugees strategy. The Deputy Director will lead on movement building, strengthening the coalition, and developing the reach, activation levels and effectiveness of the coalition’s grassroots campaign organising to secure changes in policy and practice. At the heart of this is the engagement and leadership of activists with lived experience as refugees, and of member groups that are led by and for refugees – so advancing the goal of a transition to leadership by people with lived experience across the coalition. Key to this work will be building the capacity, effectiveness and impact of the One Strong Voice network to support lived experience campaigners, organisations and leaders at all levels. The Deputy Director will also contribute to wider leadership of the team’s work including fundraising, support for – and accountability to – coalition leadership structures, and effective delivery of the team’s work programme.

We're seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our Assets team and lead reinvestment and retrofit programmes, driving refurbishment and energy improvements across our properties while ensuring compliance with PAS 2035 and relevant standards and delivering responsive and planned maintenance to St Mungo’s housing portfolio alongside the team.

This role of Reinvestment and Retrofit Works Project Manager is essential to improving our housing stock quality and reducing carbon emissions. Other Key Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Senior Project Manager in ensuring refurbishment/retrofit programmes meet quality and regulatory requirements.
• Preparing budgets, forecasts, and programme schedules.
• Overseeing the design, procurement, and delivery of refurbishment/retrofit projects.
• Build relationships with partner organisations, including the GLA, Homes England, and Local Authorities.
• Managing projects and contracts for reinvestment/retrofit initiatives.
• Contributing to organisational strategies in reinvestment, safety, PIE (psychologically informed environments), and sustainability.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations. 

About you

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about enhancing Decent Homes Standards , working alongside an innovative Property Services Team to improve housing for people experiencing homelessness.

To succeed you should demonstrate the below:

• Qualified in the built environment (RIBA, RICS, CIOB) with experience managing reinvestment and retrofit programmes, budgets, and stakeholders (e.g., QS, Architect, Contractor), ideally in social housing or local authority.
• Skilled in financial appraisal, risk management, value-driven efficiency, and transformational change.
• Experience in design development, environmental standards, and working with Retrofit Coordinators, Assessors, and Designers.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced project management expertise or certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
• Knowledge of funding applications for retrofit and decarbonisation projects, and construction/technical expertise, including JCT, Building Regulations, and related legislation.

Overall, you will be ready to work collaboratively in a forward-thinking environment where your expertise is valued. In addition, a range of support and training initiatives will be put in place to assist the successful applicant in the delivery of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programme Coordination: Plan and coordinate multiple programmes to ensure key milestones are met with excellence.
• Written Communications: Draft, edit, and format professional correspondence, communications, presentations, and materials.
• Pre-event Organisation: Collaborate with external designers and stakeholders to ensure event assets/documentation are created and delivered on time.
• Registration & Booking: Manage delegate booking systems and registration processes, ensuring accuracy and a smooth experience for all participants.
• Database Management: Maintain and regularly update relevant databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Project Management: Ensure events are executed excellently from initial conception, registration and contracting to delivery.
• Stakeholder Management: Deliver prompt and professional support to attendees and stakeholders via phone and email.
• Research & Reporting: Conduct research, gather and analyse data, and prepare clear reports and documentation to support event planning and evaluation.
• Scheduling & Travel: Manage calendars, appointments, and travel arrangements as needed.
• Operational Improvement: Continually review administrative/management processes and suggest or implement improvements for greater efficiency.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative support, including tasks related to all programmes and events.
• Onsite Event Management: Event set-up, provide logistical support, and ensure excellent delegate care throughout the event.

• Online Oversight: Ensure online platforms reflect accurate and current event-related content.

Business Launchpad operates on-site at Tooting Works and is a registered charity which provides support and training for entrepreneurs aged 16-30 years from across London who want to set up their own business. 

Role Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operation of the business centre. This includes oversight of facilities management, health & safety, lettings, team leadership, and budget management. The role ensures the business centre is well-maintained, tenants are satisfied, and operational performance is continuously improved. Reporting to senior leadership, the Operations Manager contributes to strategic planning, drives efficiencies through systems and digital tools, and plays a vital role in sustaining high occupancy and tenant retention.

Role Responsibilities:

Centre Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business centre, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained, compliant, and running smoothly.
• Ensure the lettings process is well-managed and aligned with policies.
• Implement and monitor operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality, including opportunities to digitise processes and services.
• Contribute to strategic operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges in collaboration with senior management.
• Report regularly on KPIs, occupancy, operational issues, and budget status to senior management.

Building Maintenance

• Oversee the upkeep and preventative maintenance of the property, ensuring high facility standards.
• Manage and coordinate external contractors and service providers (e.g., cleaners, engineers).
• Monitor maintenance budgets and project timelines, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular building inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Drive sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.
• · Maintain and develop use of CMMS (MaintainX) to manage and record all maintenance work.

Health & Safety

• Ensure compliance with UK health & safety regulations, including risk assessments and fire safety.
• Develop and monitor health & safety procedures tailored to the site.
• Organise relevant training for staff and enforce contractor compliance.
• Maintain accurate H&S records, incident reports, and lead periodic audits.
• Support development and execution of emergency response and business continuity plans.

Lettings and Lease Management

• Oversee the Assistant Lettings Manager and monitor the development and execution of the lettings process from enquiry to move-in, including viewings, negotiations, and onboarding and offboarding of tenants.
• Check we are maintaining up-to-date tenancy records,
• Draft lease documentation and ensure timely renewals and support the rollout of any rent reviews.
• Carry out twice-yearly audits of lease documentation.
• Maintain relationships with tenants to support retention and satisfaction.
• Monitor lease management by team, lease compliance and resolution of any lease-related issues.

Customer Service

• Act as a point of contact for tenants, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Foster strong relationships with tenants, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to attract new tenants and retain existing tenants with the goal of maintaining high occupancy levels.

Financial Management

• Manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and that projects are delivered within budget.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure cost-effective deals.
• Ensure tenant arrears are regularly monitored and managed.

Line Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage the lettings and maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and productivity.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of staff members as needed.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Project Management, or other relevant fields.
• At least 2 years’ experience in operations work.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Desire to drive operational excellence.
• Line management experience.
• Experience of managing a building, property or facilities beneficial.
