Role Summary.

The Onsite Administrative Assistant will provide essential operational and administrative support for the Roots Academy Essentials Onsite Program. This role will help ensure smooth communication, accurate documentation, and effective coordination between internal team members, instructors, campuses, and students. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised, and proactive in maintaining digital records and supporting program onboarding processes.

Key tasks

• Create and send calendar invites for recurring and ad-hoc meetings.

• Manage, document and accurately store internal meeting minutes.

• Share action items and follow-ups in a timely manner.

• Track and record university campuses that have registered interest in hosting the Essentials Onsite Program.

• Prepare and manage Google Drive folders containing onboarding documents for university ISocs and MSAs we partner with.

• Verify that all instructors, campuses, and student ambassadors are correctly assigned on the Roots Digital Platform.

A bit more information about this role and the team

• This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
• There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

Time expectation

About The Role

We believe that the best way for people to understand and connect to wetlands is to experience them, so we bring awe-inspiring nature up close. At Martin Mere Wetland Centre, visitors can explore unique wetland habitats and the amazing array of birds, mammals and amphibians that inhabit them. Our volunteers help to welcome and inspire visitors and get to experience looking after our unique habitats and heritage.

Chatterbox Befrienders offer one-to-one telephone support and will call a client once a week offering companionship and a listening ear for an individual who might otherwise go unheard. Chatterbox volunteers befriend a variety of people including carers, socially isolated individuals who are struggling with loneliness, people with ill health and those that 
have been bereaved. 

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF:

- Ensuring immediate contact with the Chatterbox Coordinators if you feel that the client might be a risk to themselves or others

- Liaising with the Chatterbox Coordinator on a regular basis regarding the service, as well as discussing personal learning and development needs

- Respecting service standards, appropriate boundaries and recognising the range of policies and procedures that impact on befriending vulnerable adults

Founded by musician and composer Clifford White, SAF now represents over 200 creative members — including artists, writers, filmmakers, performers, and musicians — each contributing their own unique perspective on spiritual creativity. Our website hosts hundreds of in-depth member articles, interviews, and features exploring the intersection between art, consciousness, and the human spirit.

We also run the Spiritual Creatives Meetup group, with more than 2,400 members, hosting events, talks, and creative gatherings both online and in person. Alongside this, we are developing exciting new projects including Spirit Songs, our upcoming record label, as well as plans for festivals, workshops, and exhibitions that celebrate and inspire spiritual creativity.

The General Manager will work closely with the Founder to turn ideas into action. This is a communications-focused, hands-on role that involves supporting volunteer teams, managing projects, coordinating events, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. You’ll help oversee multiple initiatives — from fundraising and planning new creative ventures to maintaining communication between teams and keeping projects on track.

Key areas of involvement include:

• Coordinating volunteers and team communication

• Helping to plan and schedule events, particularly for our Spiritual Creatives community

• Supporting the launch of Spirit Songs, our new record label

• Assisting with fundraising and partnership development

• Maintaining our online presence (WordPress and social media)

• Supporting creative planning and strategy alongside the Founder

This is an unpaid volunteer role, but if we are successful in raising funding, it has the potential to become a paid position for the right person.

This role would suit someone who is organised, practical, calm, and creative, with an interest in spirituality, arts, and community development. Experience in any of the following areas would be helpful — arts management, events, marketing, communications, or project coordination — but we are open to all backgrounds if you’re passionate and willing to learn.

You’ll be part of a welcoming, imaginative, and purpose-driven community, helping to shape the next chapter of the Spiritual Arts Foundation’s journey. The role is flexible, remote, and collaborative, allowing you to contribute in ways that suit your skills and availability.

Action Tutoring is a national education charity that offers free maths and English tutoring to pupils facing disadvantage. 

By volunteering as a tutor at a local school or online, you'll be supporting children to build their confidence and help ensure they leave school with the grades needed to build a bright future.

What will I be doing?

• Tutoring 1-3 pupils in Year 5 or 6, or Year 7, 10 or 11.

• Commit to one hour a week, for up to 20 weeks. You choose the day and time to sign up to.

• Use our tutor workbooks to guide your pupils through activities that will boost their confidence and grades.

What you'll gain:

• Receive induction training, tutor workbooks and ongoing support.

• Develop skills like communication, leadership, and problem-solving.

• Meet like-minded people in our volunteer community.

• Travel expense reimbursement (up to £5 per session).

This volunteer role is perfect for you if you:

• Have a busy schedule but are keen to contribute to your community, as this flexible role requires just one hour a week, either in-person or conveniently online.

We look for volunteers with:

• Solid subject knowledge in the area they wish to tutor, which may be demonstrated by a degree or grade B at A-level qualification (or equivalent) or relevant experience.

• The ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.

• A commitment to supporting pupils’ academic progress.
