We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance Operations to join CAP during an exciting period of transformation. This is a pivotal leadership role that will shape the future of financial operations, driving excellence in statutory reporting, regulatory compliance, and client asset management whilst leading the finance department through significant systems and process improvements.

In this influential role, you'll lead the Finance Operations team, oversee the annual statutory audit and CASS audit processes, and take the leading role in the finance ledger system replacement. You'll provide comprehensive balance sheet reporting and forecasting to support CAP's financial sustainability, whilst identifying and implementing process improvements that strengthen core financial controls. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you'll deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

With ambitious targets to achieve and a finance transformation programme to deliver, this role offers the chance to make a significant operational and strategic impact on CAP's mission to end UK poverty.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Qualified Accountant (CCAB) with Post Qualification Experience
• At least 3 years' experience at a senior level within a finance/accountancy environment
• Experience of leading the annual accounts and audit process
• Strong leadership skills with experience of managing teams to meet key objectives

 The Role

This crucial role will be accountable for the efficient operational management of the STEM Ambassador programme, as well as leading improvements and innovation of the customer experience of all stakeholders engaging with the programme.

The role is broad and varied covering financial oversight, milestones and KPI monitoring, reporting and data analysis, programme innovation and external promotion.

Your success in this role will contribute positively to building STEM Learning’s reputation as ‘the partner of choice’ for STEM outreach and increase our network of supporters wanting to engage in and support STEM.

The Communications and Engagement Partner will bring communications experience and expertise that will help us establish a strong voice for Hope and Healing. You’ll be a key part of the Hope and Healing team, and you’ll work closely with our expert Communications and Marketing team, making sure our teams are connected. In addition to being part of the development of the Hope and Healing project, you’ll have the chance to develop your communications skills by working with expert colleagues.

You’ll lay the foundations for our communications work across the Hope and Healing project, leading on our communications plan, developing our online presence and materials, coordinating events and helping us spread the word about the project in a way that reflects our values.

About the role

Reporting in to the Head of Multi-Country Cluster (MCC), the Operations Lead for the Latin America & Caribbean region is a member of the senior leadership team and provides strategic and representational leadership for the cluster on operational excellence, making things happen for programme colleagues and partners across multiple countries and connecting with other departments to facilitate programme and advocacy impact, aligning with organisational values and goals.

The post-holder will manage internal operations for effective programme delivery across the MCC, including ensuring that partners

Overall purpose

We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to join our team to help us deliver partnership management to our corporate partners. Having expanded our services into Birmingham and Greater Manchester for the first time, fundraising and charitable activities with our corporate partners are a key area for growth to ensure that our organisational development is sustainable and permanent. Building on our success to date, working with over 50 active partners, our focus is on developing long-lasting and growing relationships that deliver both increased income and outcomes for our refugee clients. You will play your part in supporting and delivering external relationships working across multiple opportunities from staff engagement, hiring initiatives and volunteering projects, that maximise the value for Breaking Barriers, our clients, and our partners.

We concentrate on getting things done in a flexible and friendly environment where everyone is encouraged to take ownership and contribute. We are a team of around 70 staff who are all and committed to helping the UK’s refugee communities. The main purpose of the Partnerships Officer role is to support the Partnership Management team on the delivery of first-class account management to our portfolio of corporate partners. Each partnership at Breaking Barriers is bespoke, comprising fundraising, skilled volunteering, awareness raising and, crucially, placement and job opportunities for our refugee clients. This diverse role is perfect for someone looking to make a difference and gain experience working within a corporate partnerships team. The successful candidate will provide crucial administrative, internal/external comms and wider support to the partnership management team. You will work closely with the Breaking Barriers delivery teams to help ensure our shared value partnerships have the maximum impact for our refugee clients.

Key responsibilities 

• Supporting the Partnerships Managers and wider Partnerships team to help deliver bespoke partner activities across our portfolio of 50+ partners.
• Support the Partnerships team with administrative support, financial tracking, and monitoring and evaluation reporting.
• Work closely with the Partnership Managers and Employment teams to support the delivery of workshops, placements, hiring pathways, and volunteering activity with each corporate partner, as well as any additional programmes which are developed to support our refugee clients.
• Manage a portfolio of small partnerships, including fundraising, comms and delivery requirements.
• Create compelling proposals, reports and correspondence in relation to partnership objectives.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Charity Retail Supervisor to work with our Head of Business & Support and a team of dedicated volunteers & Companions to grow our social enterprise in Hinckley. The Retail Supervisor will support the logistical operation and carry out shop administration at the Emporium charity store, including stock management, cash handling and fantastic customer service. RMF is a registered charity founded in 1855 whose aim is to assist registered doctors and their families who are in financial hardship. The Royal Medical Foundation is a charity based at Epsom College in Surrey, UK. It was founded in 1855 by Dr. John Propert. The foundation’s primary mission is to assist GMC-registered doctors and their families who are experiencing financial hardship. The foundation provides support in several ways: regular payments to doctors, widows, widowers, and children of doctors; One-off grants for emergency situations; and assistance with school fees for the children of doctors, helping to maintain educational stability during times of distress caused by illness, bereavement, or financial need.

The Role

The role will be assisting and supporting the case work manager in the good running, granting and management of awards to beneficiaries and the development of its impact in accordance with the RMF’s charitable objectives. The caseworker will report to the Case Work Manager but is accountable to the Chair of the RMF.

Case Work duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Investigating all applications, which meet the Foundation’s guidelines to satisfy their eligibility for financial assistance. Checking the applicants’ personal and financial circumstances to make recommendations of the type and amount of assistance required. Investigating supporting documentation, potential beneficiaries and conducting due diligence to eliminate any fraudulent applications, particularly if information provided is inconsistent.

• Ensuring applicants meet the Foundation guidelines and eligibility criteria and provide the relevant information needed.

• Support the Casework Manager with preparing, drafting and presenting case papers for quarterly RMF Board meetings, as well as regularly reviewing cases and providing updates where necessary.

• Administering new and existing grants and awards, including administration of regular payments to beneficiaries. Maintaining regular contact with all beneficiaries and ensuring that any problems are dealt with swiftly. Regularly reviewing and updating existing beneficiaries’ financial circumstances and liaising with the finance department and Administrator accordingly.

• Signposting and referring as and when necessary to other agencies (e.g. social workers) and charities. Maintaining close liaison with all the other Medical Charities to ensure that all applicants receive the assistance they need, and to prevent unnecessary duplication in financial assistance. Attending regular meetings held by trusts and charities to stay connected with developments in the voluntary sector and for networking purposes.

• Signposting to support applicants with Welfare Benefit advice - ensuring that beneficiaries are in full receipt of all their eligible Welfare Benefits.

Office and management duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

General Administration

• General office administration including dealing with all post, emails, and telephone calls for the RMF.

• Ensuring the various application forms and letter templates are kept up to date, including changes to state benefits.

• Track and monitor applicant and case load data, identifying any trends or patterns of behaviours.  Regularly monitor and update key metrics relating to applicants and case work including number of applicants per quarter and their profile/demographic, number of open and closed cases and report to the Board on a quarterly basis.

• Draft a quarterly report to the Board, monitoring data and identifying trends relating to key metrics relating to applicants and case work including the number of applicants per quarter, their profile/demographic, number of open and closed cases.

• Providing timely information as requested by the auditors and responding to any queries form the Auditors. Assisting the Director of Finance and Secretary to Council in preparing for and drafting the Annual Report and Financial Statement.

RMF Board Meetings

• Support the Casework Manager  with preparing the case papers and all supporting documentation for the Board meetings.

• Preparing the award and refusal letters after each meeting, in line with decisions made as recorded in the Minutes.

• Managing and tracking each beneficiary offer and acceptance of award.

Payment Arrangements

• Ensuring there is sufficient funding available for awards agreed by the Trustees. Liaising with the finance team to ensure payments are made on time and are accurate.  Providing appropriate updated data to the Director of Finance (of Epsom College) to add to the Grants Financial Statement.

• Providing information for payment of the monthly BACS and other payments with supporting evidence and liaising with Director of Finance and Administrator for approval of payments.

• Ensuring the correct withdrawal of unused funds is put forward at each meeting and inform Accounts Department accordingly to deduct on the Grants Financial Statement when approved.

• Ensuring that the various payments requested by the beneficiaries are reasonable, are consistent with the minuted decision, that funding is available, and payment is actioned appropriately.

Marketing and Profile raising

• Support the Caseworker Manager in developing and implementing plans to raise the profile of the RMF and target appropriate audiences within the medical sector to increase appropriate applications and report back to the Board.

• Assisting the Caseworker Manager in raising awareness of the work of RMF including writing articles for medical publications, applying for charity grants and awards as well participating in charity award events;

Compliance

• Reporting any safeguarding concerns to the Casework Manager (or other senior manager) who will escalate to the Safeguarding Lead where appropriate – following all safeguarding policies and procedures.

• Maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant regulatory and legislative guidance applicable to the Charity, including the Charities Commission guidance.

•  Ensure board reporting, recording keeping and working practices are compliant with Data Protection principles, UK GDPR and other regulatory requirements;

• Maintaining a high standard of record keeping and detailed case records, including attendance notes of any communication with applicants.

Qualifications, skills, attributes, and experience

• Experience in promoting a charity’s mission and goals to offer appropriate support to potential applicants
• A good working knowledge of the processing of grants and awards in compliance with regulatory standards, alongside financial acumen
• Strong working knowledge of the advice sector,  and the welfare benefits system to support the Charity’s beneficiaries, maximising their income and providing holistic signposting to other services
• An excellent understanding of the Data Protection and UK GDPR
• Excellent administrative skills and casework recording, with an attention to detail

This role is under the employment of the RMF.  However, given the association and attendance from time to time at Epsom College all RMF staff are expected to be committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in addition to the applicants to and beneficiaries of the RMF. About the role

Reporting in to the Head of Impact, the Humanitarian Lead for the Latin America and Caribbean region will play a lead role in setting up new emergency programmes as well as managing existing emergency response programmes across Christian Aid programmes globally but with a primary focus on an agreed set of countries to maximise impact. 

In the Latin America and Caribbean region, Christian Aid operates in Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Haiti. 

The post-holder will will ensure Christian Aid’s people-centred humanitarian reform advocacy agenda is energetically communicated in relevant regional and country policy forums, so that the humanitarian sector regionally takes visible steps toward more people-centred and locally led humanitarian programming and aligns with organisational values and goals. 

Some of the key responsibilities of the role of Humanitarian Lead are:

• Manage and collaborate on new and existing humanitarian and emergency response programmes internally and externally to maximise impact.
• Manage staff and ensure they perform to a high standard, meeting their objectives with activities integrated with the Country Teams, aligning with organisational values and goals.
• Active engagement in Country Leadership Teams ensuring Christian Aid’s humanitarian mandate is integrated within the wider country strategies in line with “Standing Together”.

• Manage our partners and ensure MCC staff are confident in, committed to and inspired by Christian Aid’s humanitarian signature focus on anticipatory action, cash transfer programming and survivor-led response to maximise impact.
• Deliver technical expertise through collaboration from within and outside Christian Aid is effectively engaged ensuring high quality programming.
• Collaborate and coordinate humanitarian programming within the relevant national and regional mechanisms, UNOCHA, clusters, ACT sisters and well recognised within donor and Civil Society circles and take advantage of opportunities to work harmoniously on humanitarian together programmes.

• Proactively identify opportunities for retaining, growing or diversifying income from existing supporters.
• Actively network to raise the profile of the charity and identify opportunities for new support.
• Recruit, support and coordinate volunteers to support for fundraising and engagement activity.

Data/administration

• Ensure prompt and effective supporter communications, particularly when thanking donations.
• Maintain accurate, compliant data in our CRM (Donorfy), growing the database and improving data quality.
• Use data insight to prepare reports and analyse performance to identify trends and opportunities.
• Monitor/evaluate income and KPIs making recommendations for remedial action or growth opportunities.
• Prepare Quarterly reports for the Board, and upon request.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and the Fundraising Code of Practice.
