We’re looking for a Community Engagement Officer to join a talented team to inspire and empower communities to support their historic places of worship. This is a fundamental role within our West regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

Churches Conservation Trust works with communities to look after 357 historic churches, over two million visitors annually and hundreds of events both private and public. These ancient, listed sites are among the most beautiful locations in England.

You’ll be visiting sites in your patch regularly, encouraging new supporters, holding local meetings, and raising funds to meet each building’s unique needs. Sharing progress through a growing church plan for each of the 22 churches in your area, you’ll ensure these buildings thrive as beautifully maintained visitor attractions, as venues for events and as central parts of village, town or city life.

You’ll be supported by our team of experts, including fundraising, conservation, and learning and by our large network of church supporters.

• Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

• Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds

• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. This is a newly created post in a growing, ambitious charity supporting Whittington Health NHS Trust.

The post holder will focus on building and stewarding relationships with our nearest and dearest in our north London community, including local businesses, schools, community groups, fundraising volunteers and event organisers and participants.

Community engagement and support is central to our ambitions as a charity. We're committed to making a tangible impact on the lives of our community, whether that be addressing health inequalities among local children, refurbishing wards within Whittington Hospital, or building gardens for the benefit of patients and staff.

The role

Join the Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) as the Community Development Manager (Online Communities). Initially funded for 18 months, this new, part-time role is important in supporting our mission to grow CILIP’s professional peer communities through the strategic use of online platforms as part of our digital transformation programme.

This position, within the Communities Team, reports to the Communities and Partnerships Manager.

The successful candidate will: 

• Have experience of planning and delivering online projects.
• Be able to work collaboratively and foster strong relationships with a wide range or internal and external stakeholders.
• Have excellent communication skills, great initiative and be able to drive uptake of the online communities. 

It is not essential for the candidate to possess prior knowledge of the sector, but they will have the right level of ability and enthusiasm to learn rapidly and use their transferable skills to support project delivery and administration.

Our office is conveniently located in The British Library, just a short walk from St Pancras and King’s Cross stations.  Embracing the future of work, CILIP supports hybrid working, allowing the successful candidate the option to work from home two days a week.
