We are seeking an experienced, strategic and collaborative Head of Communications and External Engagement to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping Martingale’s external profile, strategic partnerships, and policy influence.
As Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will join our growing senior management team, overseeing several critical aspects of Martingale’s work: communications and recruitment; partnerships and fundraising; and policy and advocacy. Working closely with the CEO, you will oversee all aspect of Martingale’s external communications and engagement to ensure Martingale’s success.
You will set the strategic direction of Martingale’s external positioning, working closely with the CEO on a day-to-day basis to ensure that our communications, partnerships and policy activity is aligned and meeting Martingale’s mission. You will ensure that Martingale’s messaging is consistent, with a bold brand presence and strong collaboration with various external stakeholders including funders, universities, media, and government.
We are looking for a strong communicator with extensive leadership experience including line management, partnership management and external relations. You will bring excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a strong alignment with Martingale’s mission. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and deliver a clear, bold strategy for communications, policy, and partnerships aligned with Martingale’s vision and growth.
- Lead the development of Martingale’s voice, ensuring consistency across all external channels and stakeholder interactions.

- Oversee all external communications, campaigns and media engagement, strengthening Martingale’s profile and influence.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain and grow relationships with Martingale’s university, philanthropic, and other partners.

- Oversee ambassador engagement and support Martingale’s national and regional events.
Policy & Advocacy
- Lead Martingale’s policy and advocacy work to shape the future of postgraduate access and equity.

- Collaborate with researchers and partners to generate evidence and drive systems change.
Team Leadership & Management
- Line manage team leads across communications and partnerships, with oversight of a team of four.
- Support the professional development of the team, ensuring alignment with Martingale’s values and goals.

How you will make a difference
We are looking for a Research and Operations Manager to join our passionate fundraising team. You will play a pivotal role in driving high-value fundraising outcomes across Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK by delivering a strategic, insight-led approach to prospect research and portfolio management.
Managing the Senior Philanthropy and Research Officer you will oversee the identification, qualification and prioritisation of prospects across Philanthropy, Trusts & Grants and Corporate Partnerships. You will lead on due diligence processes, prospect pipeline management, connection mapping and the development of systems and tools that enable data-driven decision-making. Working closely with senior fundraisers and the Interim Head of Trusts and Philanthropy, you will ensure teams have the intelligence and insights needed to build strong, meaningful donor relationships.

Role Summary
Julie’s Bicycle (JB) is seeking an experienced and hands-on professional who can contribute to the organisation's financial strategy and future resilience. The Role
The Finance Manager will be a pivotal position within JB’s senior leadership team, responsible for the effective and efficient management of all financial operations. This role requires a highly experienced and hands-on professional who can seamlessly manage day-to-day bookkeeping and compliance while also contributing to the organisation's financial strategy and future resilience.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management And Reporting (Operational & Strategic)

Hands-on bookkeeping and transaction management: Oversee and execute all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll preparation, and bank reconciliations using the organisation's accounting software.

Management accounts: Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, commentary, and analysis for the Managing Director, CEO, and the Board of Trustees.

Statutory compliance: Manage all aspects of Charity SORP compliant financial reporting. Prepare and coordinate the annual statutory audit, working directly with external auditors. Oversee filing and reporting to regulators including the Charity Commission and Companies House.

VAT and tax compliance: Lead on all VAT compliance, including preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns, ensuring full adherence to HMRC regulations, particularly those unique to the charity sector, including partial exemption requirements and annual adjustments.

Budgeting and forecasting: Coordinate and support the annual budgeting process. Develop regular financial forecasts and projections to ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable.

Person Specification
Essential experience and knowledge

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT), with at least 5-10 years of demonstrable, progressive experience in a similar finance role, with a significant portion gained within the UK charity/non-profit sector.

Expert-level understanding of VAT for charities, including partial exemption and trading subsidiaries.

About the role
As Trusts Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the growth of Crisis’ income from charitable trusts, foundations, and lottery funders. Alongside managing a portfolio of high-value supporters, you’ll take the lead in identifying, cultivating, and securing new funding opportunities - building relationships with partners whose priorities align with Crisis’ mission to end homelessness.

You’ll also manage a healthy prospect pipeline - driving forward new relationships while ensuring the team meets its income targets and continues to grow its supporter base.

We are looking for a passionate and strategic Head of Developing Philanthropy to join the Environmental Funders Network (EFN) in this remote working role.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in growing environmental philanthropy across the UK and to help inspire funders to support causes that sustain a thriving planet.

The Role
Working closely with EFN’s Executive Director, you will lead on growing the amount of funding flowing to environmental causes from UK funders – including trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals – by connecting and engaging with those not yet funding environmental causes at scale, and inspiring and supporting them to start giving or to give more.
You will form part of EFN’s Leadership Team, deputising for the Executive Director as needed, and will likely line manage a small team of 3–4 individuals.
You will:
- Revise and implement EFN’s Growing Environmental Philanthropy (GEP) strategy, working with the Executive Director, Board and GEP Advisory Group.
- Raise awareness of the need for environmental philanthropy through partnerships, events, communications and media opportunities.
- Identify and engage new funders and advisors through meetings, events, field trips and speaking engagements.
- Provide inspiration, advice, and practical resources for funders and advisors to start or expand their environmental giving.
- Support wider programme delivery, including the Big Give’s Earth Raise campaign and partnerships with organisations such as the Beacon Collaborative and Climate Lead.
- Contribute to fundraising for EFN’s GEP programme and support EFN’s financial sustainability.
About You
You’ll bring at least five years’ experience in fundraising or a related industry, with a proven track record of building and managing relationships with individual donors or high-net-worth clients. You’ll be a confident communicator and creative thinker with a strong commitment to environmental and social justice.

You’ll consistently review KPIs and make evidence-based choices to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.
What we want from you
We’re looking for a Direct Marketing Executive who has excellent knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment is vital, you’ll also be able to demonstrate your knowledge and/or experience of stewarding donors by understanding the importance of meeting their needs.
You’ll possess first class communication skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage expenditure budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marketing and fundraising law would be advantageous as well as philanthropy experience.

Guts UK is the only charity that covers the digestive system from top to tail, including the gut, the liver and the pancreas. The charity focuses particularly on the conditions that have no other specific charity or voice - conditions that are underserved, such as pancreatitis, diverticular disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), childhood gut and liver disease, and digestive cancers. With their mission being to improve the lives of the millions of people affected by digestive conditions, they are looking for their first Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager to help them reach that goal.
The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from corporate partners and high net worth individuals with the propensity to donate significant sums. There is huge scope to develop both income streams at Guts UK, as this is the first dedicated position covering these income streams.
With some fantastic corporate partnerships in place already, there is great potential to build on the existing foundations and leverage those corporate partnerships to secure more ranging from transactional right up to transformational.
