About the role
This role will be central to shaping and strengthening how JABBS advocates for and amplifies the voices of women. About the Role

Feeding Liverpool is entering a new chapter in its mission to tackle hunger and food insecurity across the city. We are strengthening our commitment to embedding Good Food principles in every aspect of Liverpool’s food system.
We are recruiting a Policy Coordinator / Lead—a strategic and collaborative thinker who will work closely with Liverpool City Council and a wide range of partners to shape food policy and drive systemic change. Main purposes of job:
● To collaborate with Liverpool City Council in reviewing policies and procedures to embed Good Food principles across relevant departments and programmes of work.

ROLE SUMMARY
This post holder will be a key member of our delivery team working across a portfolio of our inspiring projects and programmes that support young people to develop their skills, empower their potential and influence change.
We are looking for a fun and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and time management skills, and someone with an understanding of the issues facing young people and how these can be addressed through our programmes.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Delivering engaging sessions, workshops, and events for young people, both in-person and occasionally online.
- Travelling to programme venues across Greater Manchester (reasonable travel expenses reimbursed).
- Supporting young people to develop skills and confidence, and helping them create projects that make a difference in their communities.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with young people, promoting active participation.
- Working with the Youth Leads UK team to plan, prepare, and deliver activities.
- Bringing new ideas to strengthen our programmes and youth engagement work.
- Being part of the team that represents Youth Leads UK at conferences and events, including volunteer and career fairs.
- Keep up to date on new developments and trends within the youth sector
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience working with young people in group or individual settings — this could include volunteering, mentoring, or supporting peers through school, college, or community projects.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written, and presentational).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent team player who works well collaboratively.
- Understanding of inclusion and the differing needs of young people from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
Desirable Knowledge and skills:
- Confident IT and social media user (e.g. Canva, Zoom, TikTok, Instagram).
- Understanding of community engagement, volunteering, or social action.
- Awareness of safeguarding and child protection (training provided).
- Awareness of issues affecting young people (e.g. education, wellbeing, employment).

About the role
This is an excellent opportunity to provide a front-line response to reports of serious anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, safeguarding and other community safety issues. Our Anti-Social Behaviour Team is a small, high performing team which deals with the above issues, along with our duties under Prevent, Modern Day Slavery, Hate Crimes and the Community Safety Partnership. This vacancy would give you the ideal opportunity to provide a front-line response and support Council tenants that report serious anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, safeguarding and other community safety issues.
About you
You will be working closely with our colleagues in our Housing Management team, the Police, Social Services and other partner agencies. We are looking for an experienced individual to join our team with direct case management expertise of handing complex cases involving anti-social behaviour, and domestic abuse or safeguarding – either with a local authority or a social housing provider. There is a lot of autonomy in this role and its best suited to a candidate that can work proactively on their own initiative handling a demanding caseload.

The Refugee Welcome Officer is an exciting and unique role, supporting groups across the county who engage with the Social Justice Network to take part in the Afghan Welcome Project. You will assist with group formation, volunteer recruitment, training and provide ongoing mentoring to ensure their success.
As Refugee Welcome Officer you will work closely with the groups, local authorities, the Home Office, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and other key stakeholders to source suitable housing, matching families to accommodation whilst ensuring compliance.
You will build and maintain effective relationships with local agencies, councils, community groups and other sponsors to facilitate resettlement and share best practices, as well as taking the lead for coordinating recruitment and training and support for volunteers. You will also maintain DBS checks, training records and provide ongoing supervision and guidance.
In addition, you will assist with grant applications, fundraising initiatives, marketing and awareness-raising through social media, newsletters, events and community presentations.
You will have a strong passion for supporting resettled families and enabling local communities to be welcoming and inclusive. You will have experience working with volunteers, community groups or charitable organisations, and preferably experience supporting vulnerable individuals or families, including refugees or asylum seekers.
Knowledge of housing processes, private tenancies, and local support services is important, as are excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. You should be confident influencing, negotiating and problem-solving in complex situations.
Experience of delivering training and supporting volunteer development, a full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel within Kent, London and the Southeast is essential.
