About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join and shape this service covering Shetland Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. About you

How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community. 

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).  

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.

The Migraine Trust is the only UK migraine charity providing information and support, campaigning for awareness and change, and funding and promoting research.

One in seven people in the UK live with migraine, and this complex and debilitating neurological disorder significantly affects their lives. We have been leading and bringing the migraine community together to change this since 1965.

Every year we support millions of people through our website and support services on all aspects of migraine and for help in managing it at work, in education, and in accessing healthcare. We campaign for increased awareness and understanding of migraine, and national policy change to improve the lives of people who get it. The role

People living with migraine are at the heart of our organisation, while our research highlights the urgent need to reduce the inequity we see for those living with the condition. You will ensure their voices are heard by decision makers and the public and get closer to our vison of ‘a world where migraine doesn’t stop anyone from living the life they want’.

You should be able to deliver high-impact communication campaigns, and have a real interest in policy. A skilled communicator yourself, you will be able to manage a broad role with the ability to build and nurture relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Overall, you’ll bring a desire to create positive change.

You’ll work closely with the CEO and be a key member of The Migraine Trust’s Senior Management team, leading our strategic direction on communications activity alongside targeted public and political campaigns.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of the organisation’s 2026 policy and communications plans and coordinate the development of plans and budgets for 2027
• Oversee development and delivery of the charity’s policy and public affairs strategy, ensuring a strong evidence base and meaningful involvement of people living with migraine
• Manage work our public affairs agency to deliver targeted influencing projects to improve migraine care, workplace support, and parliamentary engagement
• Shape policy recommendations and develop strategies to engage key stakeholders including parliamentarians, policymakers, clinicians, employers and partner organisations
• Monitor the external policy environment identifying risks, opportunities and emerging issues relevant to migraine
• Work with the team to develop and execute creative and impactful communications campaigns to raise the profile of the charity and tackle misunderstanding around migraine
• Ensure content across all channels – including media, digital, social and publications - is on brand and reflects our values and core messaging
• Ensure our online presence meets the needs of our stakeholders, and is fit-for-purpose for current and future organisational needs

The impact of cancer on young lives is more than medical. And that impact can be felt by entire family. That’s why we exist. Our specialist social workers help children and young people with cancer and their families navigate the emotional and practical impact of cancer.

We remove barriers, solve problems and prioritise wellbeing. And we stop at nothing to make their voices heard and their unique needs understood, so they can get the right care and support at the right time

About the role

We’re looking for a Voice Officer with experience of working with children, young people and their families and amplifying their voices to help create positive change to join our Voice Team. 

The Voice Officer is a key member of the Voice Team, responsible for enabling Young Lives vs Cancer to shape the children and young people’s cancer system with and for young people with cancer and their families. You will enable young people affected by cancer and their families to have a stronger voice inside and outside the organisation - not just to contribute, but also to challenge, giving the power to them to amplify their voice and make positive change.

You will work with the Voice Manager and Head of Voice to deliver our Voice work to a high quality. Responsible for managing incoming enquiries and communications with our volunteer Voice Board Members, Voice Champions and Voice Hub network, working with the team to plan and run meetings and events both online and in person. With excellent organisational skills, you will help plan and coordinate our voice work, building strong working relationships with colleagues and our voice community with volunteer management responsibility for Voice Board Members and Voice Champions.

What will I be doing?

Main responsibilities

Communication and Organisation

• Delivering effective internal communication regarding the Voice team and playing a pro-active and leading role in Voice team meetings
• Supporting with correspondence, record-keeping and tracking leading on communications with our voice volunteers and internal communications
• Effective project management of voice activity - for example, planning events, setting goals and impact measurements for the activity, managing risks and reporting on progress

Voice Activities

• Working with the Voice Manager and Head of Voice to deliver the organisation’s Voice approach, enabling children, young people and parents/carers to shape the organisation and the system it is situated within, maximising our Voice opportunities
• Delivery of the Voice Board so it is an effective model for the Board of Trustees to listen to and act upon the voices of young people with cancer, their parents/carers and siblings.
• Travel and occasional overnight stays to attend in person events with our voice volunteers.
• Developing and supporting the growth of our Voice Hub bringing voice opportunities to our wider community
• Act as the key contact and support for our Voice Champion Volunteers
• Working in partnership with the Voice Champions team on the development and dissemination of voice guidance and training for staff and volunteers across the organisation, designed to equip them so that they can confidently work alongside young cancer patients and their families
• Working with the Voice Manager and Head of Voice to ensure that we are able to amplify voices of all our beneficiaries across the whole of the UK, from the widest range of backgrounds and cultures

Working relationships and contacts

• Volunteer management of our Voice Board Members and Voice Champions Team.
• Building and maintaining relationships and influencing others. Both internally working with colleagues to equip them to work alongside young people and families and externally working with young people and families to understand their views and opinions, ensuring that they feel heard as well as building connections with partners across the sector.
• Develop and sustain sector relationships, staying up to date with external developments in voice and participation and identifying opportunities for innovation and partnership

THE COMPANY:

Climate Spring is a global organisation dedicated to transforming how the climate crisis is represented in mainstream entertainment. Funded by philanthropic foundations, we work in partnership with creators, production companies, broadcasters and streamers to develop projects with the potential to shift the narrative on climate. 

Our team is made up of people with experience in commissioning, producing and working in development who understand the complexities of the development process, and who work collaboratively to bring the project to life. Our priority is for the projects we support to reach and engage audiences.

We offer different kinds of support to our partners, including development funding, script consultancy and connection to partners.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced and creative Development Producer, to provide development support for and oversee development projects on our growing development slate.

The Development producer will help manage the ideas that are submitted to the development fund, prepare and take part in editorial meetings, and build relationships with production companies that are serviced by Climate Spring, and help form new working relationships within the industry.

The development producer will assist the Head of Unscripted in preparing and delivering creative sessions to production companies and stakeholders. They will also help manage our unscripted contacts and prepare for community-building events with unscripted labels and talent.

You have a track record working on or developing unscripted formats a have good eye for commercially viable ideas for broadcasters streamers and online. A knowledge or experience with ad-funded content, whilst not essential, could be helpful.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project managing funded TV development projects. This involves having regular meetings with production companies, industry bodies and experts.

• Working with the head of unscripted to prepare for editorial and funding meetings.

• Contributing to the editorial decisions made by Climate Spring

• Attending meetings with production companies – remotely and occasionally in person.

• Building relationships with development teams at different production companies

• Working with the head of development and other stakeholders to create new IP with strong climate narratives.

• Managing our submissions slate and funded development slate.

• Preparing materials for brainstorms.

• Assisting in the preparation and execution of events eg: Pitch Competitions, Training days, and social events.

MINIMUM ROLE CRITERIA:

Please Note: It is a requirement for this role for the candidate to be located outside of the M25 and with ability to commute to Manchester.

• Passion for climate and environmental issues

• Min 5 years working in content Production/development. This is not an entry level role, a strong editorial background is required.

• Experience in reading and writing treatments / TV Formats

• Proficiency using digital tools, including Google Office Suite, Zoom, Airtable, etc.

• Experience handling confidential information with tact and sensitivity.

Job Purpose:

To support the delivery of WIPs housing programme in Manchester and Trafford, with a focus on women coming into contact with the police and women being released back into the community following a period on remand, providing trauma-informed specialist support to improve housing outcomes for women affected by the criminal justice system.

The Coach’s role will be to engage with our adult beneficiaries, supporting them to identify and achieve their aspirations for themselves and for their families.

• Build effective collaborative relationships with other hub partners and attend partner meetings when required.
• Support with effective referral routes in to and out of the service which break down any access barriers.
• Contribute to the development and review of service delivery.
• Effectively manage and process referrals into the service and prioritise a caseload of unpaid carers that ensures timely and effective support in line with the service delivery model.
• Carry out an initial assessment of individual support needs, priorities and risk, in line with the Access to Service procedure and processes.
• Enable individuals to explore the situation that is affecting their mental health and wellbeing and work with them to co-produce a personalised support plan to help address their immediate needs.
• Offer focused support with the aim of building knowledge, skills, confidence, independence and resilience.
• Signpost, and support to access, other relevant organisations and the wider community offer to address wider issues affecting their mental health.
• Share personalised information and advice about each unique circumstance and provide resources to support the carers mental health and wellbeing.
• Develop and facilitate peer support groups for unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions
• Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).

About the role

Reporting in to the Head of the Multi-Country Cluster (MCC), the Advocacy & Policy Lead provides strategic leadership and oversight of MCC policy and advocacy strategy, defining influencing priorities, and coordinates with other Advocacy leads to co-design thematic global advocacy strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational values and goals

The post-holder will collaborate with MCC Partnership and Strategy Lead , build a cohort of national and regional partnerships, including faith partnerships that strategically align and maximise impact. Provide technical support to partners for advocacy and connect partners to regional and global spaces to forefront their voices and drive meaningful change.

This is a strategic position within the organisation rather than a communications role, driving the advocacy strategy, integrating advocacy in humanitarian and programmes work, collaborating with other MCC advocacy leads and global advocacy colleagues to co-design thematic global and regional advocacy strategies

Some of the main responsibilities of the Advocacy and Policy Lead include:

• Drive and oversee the MCC advocacy strategy, collaborating with global advocacy colleagues to co-design thematic global advocacy strategies, so that they respond to partner voices and priorities and local contexts, aligning with organisational values and goals.
• Provides strategic oversight for global advocacy in global spaces, to ensure advocacy is impactful, and is in close collaboration with partners and faith groups and rooted in evidence and theological reflection and aligns with organisational values and goals.
• Horizon scan and provide policy and advocacy insight to MCC Leadership and partners, fostering a team mindset and support a culture of knowledge sharing of ideas and insights.
• Collaborate with the MCC Partnership and Strategy Lead, build a cohort of national and regional partnerships, including faith partnerships, to ensure that there is an appropriate balance of partners working on short- and medium-term outcomes and systemic change to align with organisational values and goals.
• Act as a convenor of policy and advocacy spaces by supporting and strengthening national and regional advocacy platforms where partners, policymakers, and civil society actors can collaborate on shared priorities, fostering a mindset of connection.
• Provides technical support for advocacy planning, advocacy proposal development, evidence gathering, relationship building, integrating advocacy into programme design, including in designing multi-country advocacy strategies that are meaningful, streamlined and aligned.
• Act as an ambassador by representing Christian Aid and engage in regional and global spaces jointly with partners, collaborating with the Pan African Advocacy Lead, as relevant, ensuring alignment with organisational values and goals.
• Identify evidence gaps and support partners to commission or produce policy/research/evidence work, connecting with relevant institutions to facilitate highly impactful and meaningful outcomes.
• Maintain up to date analysis of the country and regional context and bring evidence to the UK/global spaces.

West Sussex Transitional Housing provides homes for young people in a range of settings across the county. Services provide a low level of support for young people who already have a basic level of daily living skills and can keep themselves safe without daily supervision.Services are staffed Monday to Friday 9 to 5, with some services having on site staff and others visiting staff; all services are supported by a mobile night team who carry out regular safety and security checks. The aim of the service is to enable and empower young people to move on to independent accommodation and articulate and start to achieve their aspirations and ambitions.

We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and support residents into independent accommodation. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team, who will hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing:

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team

Coaching and Engagement:

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance)

General:

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice

• Clear verbal and written communication skills, good IT, and keyboard skills
• Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately
