Citadel is a volunteer-led project preventing homelessness by helping people find or sustain their tenancies and establish a home. We are seeking an experienced fundraising and communications manager to cover maternity leave in our award winning charity working to end homelessness one person at a time in East London.
About the role
Based within the fundraising team, The Fundraising, Communications & Supporter Manager will provide direction and manage the team responsible for brand, communications, events and fundraising through individual giving, legacies, community and corporate partnerships. This role will also directly be responsible for Major Donor relations and income.
The role and its responsibilities are critical in the charity’s growth and delivery of strategic goals through brand development, stakeholder engagement and delivery of some key streams of fundraised income. This role will work closely with the new Head of Fundraising and Communications role which has recently been created, and with our established Trusts Fundraising Manager, to support diversification/growth of income streams.

The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a pioneering Human Rights charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers who are the survivors of trafficking and torture, including gender-based and ‘honour-based’ violence. Recognising the complexity of each client’s suffering and needs, the Foundation provides specialist medical consultation, therapeutic care, legal protection and practical support to survivors of human rights violations by helping men, women and children heal the emotional and physical damage they have suffered through torture, trafficking or other forms of cruelty. Since August 2020, Asylum Aid has been part of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. Asylum Aid operates as an independent charity, led by its own Executive Director within the group structure, and is ambitious about growing its impact and reach in the future to ensure protection from persecution for those who need it. For over thirty years, Asylum Aid has been providing legal representation to some of the most vulnerable people seeking asylum. We’re looking for a MEAL specialist who is, at heart, a peacebuilder. You’ll deputise for the Regional Director as needed, and work collaboratively as a key part of the Regional Leadership Team to shape the strategic direction of Concordis’ future work across the Central African region.
As Regional Head of MEAL, your work will go above and beyond reporting to the donor on logframe outputs and outcomes to the donor, as important as those are. With your extensive peacebuilding experience, you’ll work with the team to develop and implement sophisticated metrics for measuring these changes over time. You’ll feed this information back into programme delivery, to ensure programmes remain accountable to the wider population and adapt to the rapidly changing and fragile contexts in which we work.
You’ll also use your flair for writing and your publishing skills to produce more informal news items, telling stories of the impact of our work, and publicising the recommendations that come from dialogues we facilitate. This will help us amplify voices that are often ignored by decision makers, leading to evidence-based policy making.

BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change.
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism.
In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom.
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO.
Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. The Director of Research is a key position in the organisation that leads our research activities, managing a small team as we invest in a prioritised and focused research portfolio. As someone with experience working in a scientific research role, you will have the ability to interpret, analyse and utilise research findings and developments, with a deep understanding of the drug discovery and development landscape. Mile End Climbing Wall (MECW) is the trading name of the charity Development through Challenge (DtC).
Development through Challenge started life as a charity called North London Rescue Commando (NLRC), set up when London was at threat of flood. They moved to the current site from North London, where they had started as a small water sports centre. In the mid-1980s a change in focus led to the formation of Mile End Climbing Wall. It became the climbing wall in London and one of the first climbing walls in England. In 1997 NLRC changed its name to Development through Challenge.
Since then, we have been providing East London and UK climbing communities with high quality climbing and associated facilities that are available to everyone regardless of ability to pay, physical ability, or skill-level. We organise training and challenges that improve people’s wellbeing.
Responsible to the Operations Manager, this position will work with the Senior Managers, Trustees and CEO, to deliver the strategic plan for marketing and communications and manage their operational implementation - including on and offline campaigns, internal and external communications, publications, digital activities, events and PR to raise awareness of brand and reputation and maximise customer and community engagement.
The position will be responsible for the line management of a p/t social media content creator.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time)
This is a position to:
· Deliver the overall marketing and communications strategic plan for Mile End Climbing Wall (MECW) and Development through Challenge DtC).
· Lead on the development of the MECW and DtC brand positions with the DtC CEO and MECW senior management team, retaining a strong visual identity and advocate our external profile and reputation.
· Lead on conceptualising and executing diverse events, from local climbing competitions to virtual campaigns, playing a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and engaged community.
This role will involve weekend and evening work from time to time, as it requires attending events taking place at The Wall, as well as attending Board meetings when needed. Extra points if you have climbing experience/ knowledge!
