The Head of Community Engagement, SBCC and Education holds a key leadership position in delivering our mission—ensuring our global partners implement high-quality, evidence-based programmes that foster meaningful community engagement, promote effective learning and drive lasting behaviour change. 

This role provides strategic and technical leadership across SPANA’s work in community engagement, education and Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC), ensuring that all interventions are contextually relevant, grounded in best practice and aligned with SPANA’s 2023–2027 strategy.  

The postholder will shape the direction of these critical programme areas, support capacity strengthening across our partner network and ensure measurable contributions to SPANA’s strategic objectives and key performance indicators

Salary, contract and location

This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week) permanent role. This role is hybrid UK based, with regular attendance (approximately 1-2 times per month) in our London office. The salary for this role is approximately £55,000-£60,000, dependent on expereiunce. The successful candidate will possess excellent IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and have prior experience using CRM databases. An exciting opportunity has been created for someone who is strategic, creative and passionate about youth services to work across Barnsley.  The new role will be employed by Barnsley Community and Voluntary Services but will work to develop the role, identity and strategy of Barnsley’s Youth Alliance.

Barnsley Youth Alliance currently has a membership of xx youth charities in Barnsley and they are in a pivotal period which requires the skills of a dedicated staff member to help the group navigate how they develop their constitution, their influence across Barnsley and the growth of youth services where there are gaps or barriers.  You will be responsible for coordinating the youth alliance, establishing the governance, coordinating and shaping bids for funding, designing communication methods, representing the alliance to key stakeholders and working with partners and young people to co-produce a well-rounded youth service offer for Barnsley.  You will need excellent communication and literacy skills, strong knowledge of governance and strategy and the ability to understand the needs and voices of a wide range of stakeholders.  You will be comfortable with innovative thinking, navigating political or challenging conversations and working with young people and the VCSE sector.

Position: Youth Alliance Development Manager

Elders Voice, a charity supporting older people, are excited to be joining a consortium of organisations, that will work together on making Brent an age friendly borough. Led by the Brent Pensioner’s Forum, the consortium’s aim is to make Brent a place where people can live healthy and active later lives; a place where the environment, activities and services enable older people to enjoy life, participate in society and be valued for their contribution.

Decent, secure, and affordable homes are getting harder to come by, and there is widespread recognition and acceptance now that London needs more affordable homes, with The Government, The Mayor of London and the London boroughs rightly prioritising affordable housing.

What remains is a gulf between those who are attempting to deliver affordable housing and the communities that need these homes. This is the gap that London CLT successfully bridges, working with local people to create genuinely and permanently affordable homes and community spaces, putting Londoners back in charge of how their neighbourhoods positively develop.

Proud to be at the forefront of the Community Land Trust (CLT) movement, we were the first CLT in the capital to sell homes, starting with our flagship project at St Clements in Tower Hamlets with 23 homes, and then continuing with our first direct development at Citizens House in Lewisham with 11 homes. We also currently have projects across 6 London boroughs, with 34 homes built to date and a pipeline of 100+ new homes in development.

We are looking for an individual who will ensure that the effective day-to-day operations and communications of London CLT run smoothly. Providing vital support across administration, governance, HR and project delivery, acting as a central point of contact for London CLT and taking ownership of our communications strategy, developing an annual communications plan and producing well-targeted, engaging content and communications for members and other priority audiences.

You will bring strong experience in operations, office management, administration and communications, ideally in the non-profit or social enterprise sector, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and feel confident with IT and Office systems.

It would also be helpful and advantageous if you have experience working with community-led organisations, an understanding of social justice and community development principles or bring lived experience of housing challenges or connection to communities affected by the housing crisis.
