Centre for Mental Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced communications professional to join our team as Associate Director of Communications (Maternity Cover), starting in September 2025 for 12 months. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead our communications work, ensuring all of our written and visual outputs support our mission to drive mental health equality.

As the lead on our media, publications, website, social media and marketing work, you’ll manage the development and delivery of impactful content that engages our key audiences and supports our influencing, marketing and fundraising goals. The role will supervise a small communications team, providing support and leadership to ensure excellence across our communications. It involves liaising with a broad range of stakeholders including funders, partners, people with lived experience, suppliers and wider sector colleagues.

This is a pivotal leadership role at a time of strategic change and opportunity. The Head of Income Generation will be responsible for delivering significant and sustainable income growth across our key fundraising streams: Corporate Partnerships, Community & Events, Trusts & Grants, Legacies, and Lottery & Individual Giving.

You will lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing fundraising team, and play a key role in shaping our organisational direction as part of the Senior Leadership Team. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach to business development and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the development and delivery of the income generation strategy in line with the new three-year organisational strategy.
• Identify and develop new opportunities for sustainable income generation across all core streams.
• Set and monitor annual income targets, KPIs, and budgets, ensuring accountability and strong financial oversight.
• Support the CEO as part of the Senior Leadership team and contribute significantly to the growth of the charity.
• Hold a key working relationship with the Marketing and Comms Manager, making sure both departments are fully aligned with our new strategy.

Fundraising Development

• Oversee and grow income across:
  • Corporate Partnerships – build strategic, long-term relationships with businesses.
  • Community & Events – lead a refreshed programme of events and supporter engagement.
  • Trusts & Grants – work with external agencies to support in securing significant grants.
  • Legacies – work with external agencies to nurture and grow our legacy giving programme
  • Lottery & Individual Giving – expand and innovate our donor base through creative campaigns.

Team Leadership

• Manage, support, and develop the Fundraising Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, ambition, and performance.
• Embed a values-led, supporter-centric approach within the team and across the charity.

The National Youth Agency is looking for a new Local Quality Manager to join our Youth Work Innovation & Development Team.
 
Contract: 12 months fixed term

We are the professional statutory and regulatory body (PSRB) responsible for qualifications, quality standards, and safeguarding for youth work and services in England. We work in partnership and believe in collaborative leadership, listening to youth workers and the youth work sector so that we can understand their needs and respond to the challenges they face. About the Role
 
Responsibilities will include:

• Lead delivery of key Local Offer programmes, such as our successful Peer Review and Peer Network Programme, which are designed to support Local Authorities and organisations in meeting the needs of young people and in the case of Local Authorities meet their Statutory Duty (section 507B).
• Manage the delivery of traded services relating to Quality Standards and Organisational Development.
• Manage and regularly update both existing and new online resources related to Quality Standards, ensuring consistency and standardisation across all materials.
• Collaborate with the National Curriculum and Learning Manager to influence the youth work curriculum and share learning and insight from programmes
• Work collaboratively with the Youth Investment Fund Programme Manager to inform and develop Quality Standards.
• Work with Local Policy & Partnerships Manager and the NYA Knowledge Team to develop sector insights and to share learning and knowledge across NYA teams and the youth work sector.
• Collaborate with Local Authorities and partner organisations to promote awareness and encourage participation in NYA programmes and Quality Standards.
• Utilise NYA tools, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Project Management systems, to generate timely and relevant performance and financial reports that support informed decision making and effective programme delivery. Experience of using project management platform (or similar) would be an advantage.
• Provide line-management and support to peers and officers as required.

 
Our ideal Local Quality Improvement Manager should have the following:

• Extensive experience working directly with young people across diverse settings, demonstrating a deep understanding of youth development and engagement.
• Demonstrated expertise managing youth work programmes and improving practice standards, including within Local Authority contexts.
• Proven experience in assessing youth work against established standards and implementing quality assurance processes for effective management, delivery, and evaluation.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in embedding best practices in youth voice, participation, and leadership within services and programmes.
• Strong understanding of the current challenges facing Local Authorities and youth sector organisations, and the implications for young people’s needs and service delivery.
• Ability to analyse complex organisational and Local Authority structures, reflect critically, and articulate clear recommendations for improvement and recognition of effective practice.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with experience supporting and managing peers and officers in a collaborative environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams and work effectively with partners and stakeholders.
• Proven experience in project management, with a proactive, self-starting approach and a strong focus on solutions and outcomes.
• Resilient, flexible, and ambitious, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain high standards.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

· Demonstrable fundraising or marketing experience.

· Experience of delivering direct marketing campaigns, across mail, telemarketing and digital channels.

· Experience of monitoring budgets, targets and KPI’s.

· Knowledge of fundraising regulation including, telephone regulation, PCIDSS, UK Charity Law, Gambling Commission and Data Protection legislation and policy.

· Print and production knowledge.

· The ability to manage & allocate resources effectively to meet work plan objectives.

· The ability to work with and manage external service providers in a direct marketing context.

· Strong communication, interpersonal & organisational skills.

· Assertive outreach casework with very vulnerable women

· Responsible for supporting three women in the Borough of Camden

· Intensive support for complex needs with service users with a history of non-engagement with services

 

Accountabilities:

Casework

· Solution-focused casework interventions with women who have experienced VAWG and severe and multiple disadvantage

· Provide emotional support using a trauma informed approach

· Build and maintain supportive relationships with ethnically Minoritised women

· Ensure ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with service users within an attitude of ‘positive risk taking’

· Provide support with life skills, including practical assistance where skills are not yet developed

· Maintain accurate case notes and up to date records

· Contribute to the completion of outcomes reports and funding returns

· Complete all documents when support work commences and keep up to date with any changing risks to or from the woman.

· Risk assess situations in the moment, act calmly, professionally and be ready to remove self from/ call 999 in situations that appear too high risk to remain in

Advocacy and support service

· Empower women to access benefits and services they need

· Involve service users in the design, development and delivery of the service

Multi-agency

· Engage with a wide range of professionals (some of whom may have very different approaches to problem solving) through a multi-agency approach, and advocate to agencies on behalf of the Project and its service users

· Promote coordinated, joined-up service delivery for service users between violence against women services and drug and alcohol agencies, mental health, housing, health and legal agencies.

· Contribute to a service-wide communications plan and ensure that information about the service is widely available locally to other agencies and is also readily accessible to potential service users

· Educate a wide range of agencies and stakeholders about the challenges faced by women experiencing multiple disadvantage

· Proactively develop links with local statutory and voluntary organisations to provide a range of engagement opportunities for service users in the community

· Attend and contribute to the Domestic Violence MARAC as appropriate

· Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the Project

· Be self-motivated to research processes and services in order to fully support and advocate for the women. 

· Fully engage with the partner teams and all support and team spaces offered, supporting colleagues with the difficulties they face and celebrating positive outcomes.

Today, one person every two minutes is diagnosed with leprosy. It’s a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Left untreated, it causes permanent disability. Stigma means that people affected by this disease are often rejected by those closest to them and excluded from basic services. 

Within our dynamic programmes team, you’ll be working alongside supportive colleagues who are passionate about ending leprosy and transforming lives. We have a culture of learning and growing together and will provide training in best practice, ensuring excellence in all we do. You will have at least three years’ work experience in an international development programming role or similar setting (ideally in the global South), with a degree in a relevant discipline. You will have monitoring, evaluation and research skills, with the capacity to work on your own initiative and will be an excellent cross-cultural communicator. We are particularly interested to hear from people with expertise in disability services, public health, research, quality assurance, or social enterprise development. However, those with experience in community development and working in fragile states would also be most welcome to apply.

You will be responsible for the development of UK-funded programmes, supporting the capacity development of overseas partners and managing income streams from large donors. In addition, you will champion our work on the global stage and engage in national and global advocacy on Neglected Tropical Diseases (including leprosy), global health and disability issues. This will require travel overseas for approximately eight weeks per year.
