About the role

We are seeking an experienced CEO to lead us into the next phase of growth, driving our mission forward with vision and passion. Working with the Board of Trustees and the Senior Leadership Team, we're looking for someone to provide strategic leadership, ensure financial sustainability and to oversee the charity's operations whilst preparing us for our next phase of development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide vision and leadership for the charity
• Support the charity's fundraising strategy, securing funding through grants, donations, and partnerships
• Act as the public face of the charity, advocating for its cause and engaging with stakeholders
• Foster partnerships with other charities, businesses, and community organisations
• Have overall responsibility for the financial management of the charity
• Assist the board with its decision making and strategic direction for the charity's long-term sustainability

Who We're Looking For:
You'll be an inspirational and tenacious leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on implementation. Resilient and adaptable, you'll thrive in a dynamic environment and be able to demonstrate perseverance and flexibility. You'll be a strong communicator and relationship builder, persuasive and articulate. Commercially and financially literate, you'll have a compassionate and values-led approach to leadership. Ideally, you'll have experience in fundraising, specifically developing corporate partnerships.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams at CEO or similar level
• Strategic thinker and problem solver
• Delivery and execution of strategic plans
• Experience of working effectively with a Board of Trustees
• Proven experience in budget setting and financial management, reporting to funders and Trustees
• Understanding of Charity law and regulations, governance requirements, and reporting standards

Terms and Benefits:

• Full-time, permanent role, based in Bermondsey with hybrid working possible

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Church Engagement Lead to work in partnership with key staff across the Movement. This person will promote mission-focused content and activity across the Movement, for the 95% of children and young people who aren’t in church, for those who seek to reach and work with them, and for those who nurture them in their new-found faith.

The successful candidate will:

• Work in partnership with key staff across the SU Movement to build, maintain and develop our relationship with churches, ensuring they are well resourced for mission to the 95, and encouraging their support of Scripture Union through prayer, financial giving and volunteering.
• Engaging with existing church contacts to grow and develop those relationships.
• Developing a strong offering of speaker visits, and associated video and print resources to ensure a good experience for churches.
• Implementing a strategy for mobilising church giving, and individual giving through churches.
• Working with the Mission Enablers to develop a language around the financial costs of Revealing Jesus and ways in which churches can support the work, while also accessing the resource and training provisions.
• Maintaining good records of church contacts and activities in the Dynamics365 database.
• Manage and acknowledge donations from churches in line with our thanking procedures.

About the Group Housing Officer role:

We are looking for a dedicated, proactive and experienced Group Housing Officer to join our small, close-knit housing management team. In this role, you will be responsible for the housing management functions relating to but not limited to occupancy, charge collection, and monitoring of health and safety for a patch of residential supported accommodation services.  

You will work independently, with autonomy over your own working schedule and meeting priorities, as well as working as part of the wider team and in collaboration with our services. You will support our Service Managers with the smooth operation of their properties, maintaining high standards of housing management, and supporting the needs of our residents in relation to housing management. You will support with the management and auditing of rent accounts to help maximise organisational income. This is a great role if you have the passion for what we do, and have a background in housing management!

What are we looking for from a Group Housing Officer:

• Experience in effective rent collection and management of arrears
• Proven experience in housing management which includes health, safety and environment and anti-social behaviour
• Proven experience of collaborative working across different geographically dispersed teams

About the role

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting those who struggle with complex needs, substance use, and dual diagnosis. We are looking for someone who can work flexibly to support residents and participants who struggle to engage with the support available to them through various providers. You will be at the heart of engaging our participants to regain motivation and the strength to step down from acute psychiatric wards and other supported living, by empowering them with the relevant skills and knowledge to support their journey. You will support them towards achieving their personal goals including independent living. You will be based across various homes, hospitals, wards, and supported living accommodations based around Lewisham.

You will provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements, and deliver to achieve more safer, integrated communities for our stakeholders. The areas of support will include: Prevention, Transition, Activities of Daily Living (ADL), Support, and Social Inclusion. 

This role will work alongside South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) who provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. They also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol with 4,600 staff serving a local population of 1.3 million people.

• Support a caseload of participants, contribute to the development of support plans, risk assessments and reviews.
• Positively promote the pathways available towards independent living within the community. Ensure participants understand what tools and resources are available to them to regain independence.
• Participate in, and encourage R&Ps to participate in the running and development of projects, initiatives, training and volunteering.
• Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis.
• You may need to attend external appointments when required.

This is a key role within the Executive Leadership team, with accountability for Finance, Procurement and IT at the Globe. The role of Helpline Advisor

For several years, Guts UK have provided information, support and guidance to our community over the phone and by email. This year, we’re formalising that service into a professional Helpline and are looking for someone to join our small, talented support team.

During the initial 6-month trial period, the Helpline phone lines will be open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, but this may expand or change later in the year. Queries could be received via phone, email or web-query form.

​As a member of the Helpline team, you will offer on demand information, support, guidance and signposting primarily to enquirers living with, or caring for those with, digestive conditions and symptoms. The support offered will include receiving calls, emails and web form queries from people who are looking for more information about their digestive condition, need to know where they can turn to for support, or are waiting on a diagnosis and need help navigating how to get there. You will provide appropriate information, guidance and signposting to our own information and other external support organisations. As a charity, Guts UK covers all digestive symptoms and conditions, across the whole of the UK, and so no two days will be the same and queries will be diverse and interesting.

The role holder will man the Helpline (alongside others from the team) from 10am to 2pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) and during that time will receive, respond to and appropriately log phone calls, web-queries and emails.

Location

The Helpline team have a secure office space in our Huddersfield based office in which they can handle confidential calls and information. This is supported by hybrid working, with team members able to work from home as well.

Chief Finance Officer

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of a remarkable place. You will be working in partnership with colleagues across the Cathedral — from estates and music to retail, fundraising and visitor experience — helping to protect heritage while building a resilient future.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will manage the Cathedral finance team and be an effective member of the Senior Management Group with the COO and senior clergy.  You will be accountable for ensuring that there is an effective finance function in addition to contributing to leadership across the organisation.

About You

A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or someone with relevant experience in a senior financial leadership role, ideally in a charity, heritage, or not-for-profit sector, you will have:

• Strong commercial awareness and experience in income generation.

• Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasting, and financial planning.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working within the Church of England or a heritage organisation.

• Understanding of charity finance regulations.

• Ability to make informed decisions about investments to support the organisation's sustainability.

The Heaney Cluster an intensively supported housing scheme for the most challenging customers in the borough. The majority of the customers come with a history of entrenched rough sleeping; often coupled with enduring mental health difficulties. The aim is to offer a home to those who would have difficulty finding accommodation because of their lifestyle choices involving extreme drug and alcohol misuse.

The role requires one to work on a shift pattern:7.45am to 3.45pm and 2.00pm to 10pm.The team comprises of Therapist, Move on coordinator, Housing Officer, 16 support workers, 2 Team Leaders, One Project Manager. It would be good to have you join this team.

What you'll do:
If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer.
* Support customers to maintain their tenancies.
* Support to budget and prevent rent arrears.
* Assess their practical and emotional needs to incorporate in their support plan.
* To develop support plans and risk management plans.
* Carry out weekly health and safety checks.
* Carry out security duties / welfare checks to ensure the safety of the customers and premises

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.
This role involves working on a rota pattern of 40h each week, to support a client with special needs.

What you'll do:
- If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
- Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker
- Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises
- Monitor the CCTV throughout the shift
- Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support as directed
- Carry out support duties to enable customers to integrate into the community including e.g. accompanying the customer to attend benefit agency appointments and meetings, go shopping, to enquire at colleges about possible courses, to visit various public amenities
- Report any observations relating to customers welfare
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements
