Hours: 37.5 hours per week (delivered flexibly to suit the service and service users). During term time, these hours will be predominantly at weekends and after school, to fit alongside families’ availability. During school holidays these hours could swap to accommodate some weekday daytimes.

About the Role
Chance UK has been delivering early-intervention services across London since 1995. Our longest running programme is our mentoring service where Mentors pick the child up from home and run a 1:1 session in the community, once a week for 2 hours. They use the solution-focused approach to work on building the child’s self-esteem and confidence, set goals and explore new places.
In addition, we are growing a range of community based groups running after school as well as some workshops delivered in schools which will support children with developing social and emotional skills and resilience through activities or skills development.
The balance between 1:1 work and group delivery will change according to services commissioned so the post holder will need to be flexible accordingly.
We are ideally looking for someone for this role who is in easy proximity to South London as we have a number of children South of the river that need support.

South London Citizens
South London Citizens is a thriving chapter with a growing team of ~18 organisers and project staff. We are building the power of communities in South London through borough alliances (in Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Merton, Croydon) and the wider region by developing community leadership and supporting people to take action on what matters most to them. Over the past three years, we have worked in partnership with mental health trusts to deliver a pioneering organising project, South London Listens (SLL), to prevent mental ill-health, and more recently with wider South London NHS leaders to take action on a range of issues (from low wages to housing conditions) that impact our communities’ health.
Purpose
We are looking for two Associate Organisers to join our thriving and dynamic team in South London building the power of local communities. These roles will support local organising, and have a specific focus on health and living wage organising.
In this exciting and innovative role, you will work with community organisations, including faith institutions, schools, universities, and community groups. Your primary responsibility will be to
1. build ‘Be Well’ teams to support the wellbeing of their communities, as part of the South London Listens partnership;
2. find and develop new community leaders within their organisations; and
3. take action to tackle the social determinants of health inequality (e.g. lack of migration status, racism, housing conditions, low wages and precarious work).
One or both of the roles will also include specific organising with low paid workers to lead the fight for a real living wage and living hours.

A central focus of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change. Your learning and development will be paramount in the first few months as the responsibilities given to your experience and skills develop.

Main Responsibilities
Working as an Associate Organiser in South London for Citizens UK your main responsibilities will be to:
Grow and deliver on the priorities of South London Listens and our broader Health organising

Build and support new Be Well Hubs in a range of institutions in your allocated boroughs. Including identifying new institutions, delivering training, and supporting them once they are established.

Work with other organisers to deliver on the priorities identified by communities that are part of the South London Listens project

Ensure reporting and capturing of stories of the South London Listens project are captured and shared to celebrate and grow the project.
At least one of the roles includes supporting our organising efforts for more just work and wages

An opportunity has arisen for a lead Support worker to work within our Sanctuary crisis intervention and prevention service, based in Fore Street in Enfield. We act as a short-term A&E and Emergency services alternative, providing support to individuals in the Enfield Borough aged 18+.

Bonny Downs Community Association has been working together to change lives and transform our community since 1998. Over the past 25 years our team has grown to provide a wide array of services that benefit Newham residents from all walks of life.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of and help shape a new DHSC funded project - Early Support Hubs - providing innovative ways to support Young People’s (11 – 25 years) Mental Health and Wellbeing across the borough of Hackney.
This Early Intervention approach will enable young people to access support in a timely way within their own community and we will work collaboratively with the Hackney Super Youth Hub enabling a one stop shop experience for local young people.
We are looking for passionate and motivated Therapeutic Youth Workers who are committed to supporting positive change for local young people to join our team.
Main Responsibilities:
· Undertake 1:1, group, detached and outreach work with young people
· Provide one-to-one key-working up to 12 sessions, combining youth work values and principles with a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to help address a wide range of issues that may impact on young people’s mental health and wellbeing e.g. housing, employment, physical health, education, finances and relationships.
· Use a supportive, young person-centred approach. e.g. explaining what services are and what they do, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date, filling out forms together, making personal introductions, accompanying young people to initial meetings/sessions, being with them during phone calls etc.
· To work with the Hackney Super Youth Hub, to support young people and liaise with appropriate professionals in the network.
· To maintain confidential, up to date and accurate records of all sessions and plans.
· Be an advocate for young people, supporting colleagues to understand adolescence, and how to engage with young people, particularly with concerns around:
o mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.
o Supporting vulnerable groups who would not otherwise receive support (levelling-up).
o Improving children and young people’s engagement with EET.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
· QCF Level 3 Diploma in Youth work or equivalent and have experience of youth work in a youth work setting
· Experience of working with young people, delivering therapeutic groups and/or 1 to 1 interventions in a youth work or similar setting.
· To have an active interest in working with those affected by mental health issues and recognise the impact this has on their life.
· Experience of building positive, impactful relationships with young people responding to their needs
· Excellent, up to date knowledge and understanding of safeguarding needs and risks young people may face.
· Experienced in working as part of a safeguarding team around a child, i.e. Childrens services, education, CAMHS, etc
· Experience of working in with an outreach role, in the community and school settings.
· Confident working well independently as well as in a team setting.
· Ability to use own initiative and be able to respond to change as part of a pilot initiative.
· Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite (incl. Outlook and Word), with ability to accurately input sensitive data electronically

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project.
The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

About this role…
Thames Reach’s Outreach teams operate across London and helps those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond rapidly and work flexibly to reach people. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those offering immigration support.
You will:
- Complete outreach shifts, providing a rapid response to referrals for people who are rough sleeping in the borough
- Take a lead role within the team, working closely with support workers and assistant support workers to identify the quickest and most appropriate route off the street for people found rough sleeping, and devise plans to achieve this
- Provide direct support to people who are found rough sleeping to enable them to move away from the streets and into accommodation
- Work alongside partner agencies to ensure that clients are accessing appropriate support to access and sustain accommodation
- Accurately record all work completed within given timeframes
To succeed as the Lead Worker, you will have:
- A strong commitment to providing a high standard of service
- Experience working with people who have rough slept or vulnerable adults and supporting them to access services
- Excellent organisation and time management skills in order to remain strongly outcome focused, with the ability to coordinate a high number of cases and complete tasks promptly and efficiently
- Good communication skills and confidence in public speaking when representing Thames Reach externally
- Experience in forming strong working relationships with partner agencies, being able to challenge them when required
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use Outlook, online recording systems, Excel, and Word, using a tablet and a smart phone

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a Children and Family Worker to join the team in our West London Women's refuge. The service is a refuge accommodation for women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma. we are looking for someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children.
As a Children and Family worker, you will support in providing a much needed safe and nurturing environment for children and their mother's, providing pathways, support and appropriate interventions to enable resettlement. You will support various teams to co-produce a tailored support plan which is altered to the individual's needs through a recovery model providing trauma informed and enabling environments to achieve this.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, working on a rota which is over 7 days including evenings. You will be based on site within the service.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Children and Family Relationships
- Provide parenting advice to support mothers and their families.
- Provide stimulating play opportunities to encourage children from all backgrounds to develop and express themselves, as well as support the children with their general learning, homework, and literacy.
- Support with early learning development, supporting mothers through advice and activity packs which aid their children’s learning and development.
- Deliver family sessions to support contract orders by social services and other organisations, as well as to help rebuild relationships, life skills, confidence, reliance, self-esteem and manage trauma.
- Offer age-appropriate sessions to children to provide a safe, encouraging, and development led environment which provides meaningful and memorable experiences.
- Work with residents and their keyworkers to understand complex needs to help build children’s and their families lives.
Support Working
- Build and sustain trusting and respectful relationships with our residents, including children.
- Create a safe, stable, psychologically informed environment which is nurturing to children and families.
- Provide support for residents, contributing to the development of support plans, risk assessments, reviews, regular support sessions and other personal development activities.
- Support with reducing barriers to reintegrating into communities, and re-developing confidence, skills, and coping mechanisms to support those with previous trauma.
- Develop and sustain therapeutic relationships with our residents, providing practical and emotional support with a trauma informed approach to ensure they are always treated with respect and dignity. Deal with sensitive information in a professional manner.
Additional Responsibilities
- Attend appointments as and when required in support of residents.
- Undertake shift lead responsibilities on rotation, taking responsibility for ensuring day-to-day support delivery is effective, with staff carrying out their designated responsibilities, alongside ensuring resident and service-specific follow up actions are completed.
- Housing Management responsibilities, ensure residents and staff are safe, and the surroundings are kept clean and well maintained.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.
KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds
- Previous experience and/or in-depth knowledge about working with children who have experienced trauma
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience
- Understanding of the trauma children and families may go through due to domestic violence and other previous experiences
- Understanding of the social needs and support required for people with multiple and complex needs
- Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with various challenging backgrounds, mental health, addiction, exploitation, homelessness, and previous convictions
What we would like, but not essential:
- Previous experience creating co-produced support plans, key working, and care planning, providing appropriate interventions for service users
- Previous experience providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential support role
- Appropriate Professional Qualification in: Social Care, Early years Education, Certificate in Childcare or other relevant
- Understanding and/or practical application of key legislation regarding social care, housing, criminal justice, and mental health
- Ability to Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis
