What will I be doing?
Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of activities associated with the CAW programme, as set-out by Programme Delivery Manager for CAW
Managing the delivery and evaluation of partner activity (cancer awareness stands, talks and webinars) - including logistics, booking in nurses, managing all processes within health & safety guidelines for activity, and coordinating requests for health comms and designing them where necessary
Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate partner contacts, the Partnerships team, Health Information team, our team of nurses, and people with lived experience
Creating, developing or reviewing CAW products (including webinars and talks), with support from the Programme Development and Operations Manager
Sharing responsibility with the rest of the CAW team in maintaining and refining appropriate logs and tracking documents
Responsible for reviewing and managing cancer awareness stand kits
Supporting with evaluation of the wider CAW programme.

As the Supporter Engagement & Legacy Manager you will play a key role as we seek to reignite our legacy marketing programme and grow overall individual giving income to help ensure long-term support for those facing financial difficulty. You will be responsible for the project management and implementation of all supporter engagement activity, acquisition, and legacy marketing activities, ensuring all activity is optimised and campaigns include enhanced digital and social media content.
Reporting to the Co-Heads of Supporter Engagement and managing the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will develop a multi-year plan to rebuild legacy income and a pipeline of legacy supporters, including re-engaging the EFH care home staff and major donors.
You will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction, operational plans and effective management of Turn2us’s giving programmes from individuals including appeals, regular giving and legacies, maximising net income from new and existing income streams.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment as well as proven ability to manage successful legacy marketing campaigns. They will have significant experience stewarding individuals and legacy supporters and be adept at communicating the impact of donations, as well as having line management experience. The ability to make a strong case for supporting Turn2us’ key areas of work is crucial, as is an aptitude for proactively increasing acquisition and retention rates.
The post holder will also be a self-starter who is comfortable building new strategies from a relatively small pool of supporters and is experienced testing different tactics to establish the best practice for Turn2us.

Our work across Newcastle
Volunteering Matters play a vital role supporting volunteering in Newcastle. Since 2005, we have been operating Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN). This service provides a wide range of support around all things volunteering to 1250+ charities, organisations, and groups locally. Each year, we also support 2500+ members of the public who are interested in volunteering and need support to get started. We also lead the Home from Hospital and Community Support project where volunteers support older people with their transition home following a hospital admission.
In early 2025, we launched the Good Neighbours Newcastle project funded by Newcastle City Council. We deliver this project alongside our delivery partner organisation, Search Newcastle, with a second partner organisation scheduled to join in early 2026.
Good Neighbours project
We would all like to live in a place that has a sense of community, where people look out for their neighbours. The Good Neighbours project aims to foster a feeling of positive wellbeing and independence for those who may be socially isolated, or who don’t have many people around them, giving that “little bit of help”.
The project helps people in the community feel safe, supported, and more able to live an independent life, whilst preventing, reducing and delaying the need for formal support through Adult Social Care. It also provides people the opportunity to volunteer a little time, in a flexible way, to make a difference in their own community. We know volunteering can lead to enhanced skills, and positive wellbeing. Volunteers provide practical or social support, completing “one-off’ or short-term tasks, supporting a neighbour. This includes tasks like collecting essentials, driving someone to a GP appointment, helping with odd jobs around the house, light gardening, or checking in with someone for a cuppa and chat.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Project Manager to join our team in Newcastle. The right candidate would be someone with excellent knowledge of “best practice” in Volunteer Management and with experience of establishing new and exciting volunteering programmes.
This is a senior role within our Newcastle team so it is essential that the postholder is agile, can work flexibly, is an excellent communicator, and can build strong working relationships with a range of people.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the Good Neighbours project, meeting ambitious goals, ensuring all volunteers and beneficiaries achieve positive outcomes
- Lead and manage our partnerships on a day-to-day level with Search Newcastle and another local charity, to raise the profile of the project, ensuring successful delivery and ongoing development of the work
- Manage and lead our use of the volunteer management system, Volunteero, ensuring its effective use across our Newcastle work

The Community Fundraising team is looking for a Direct Marketing Manager (maternity cover), who will support our work in developing, promoting, and analysing our portfolio of Community Fundraising products to attract new and diverse audiences to raise vital funds for nature.
The post holder will support the launch of our Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising product, as well as supporting In Aid Of (IAO) fundraising activity across the UK. The role will support marketing requests across all new and existing Community Fundraising products and campaigns. The role requires a proficiency in data analytics and a track record in responding to trends and sector best practice.
You will have experience in direct marketing and be proficient in delivering multi-channel campaigns in a fast-paced environment. This role also requires an in depth knowledge of direct marketing techniques including testing, profiling, segmentation, return on investment analysis, cost per contact. You will have experience in managing multiple projects and budgets, as well as a track record in excellent stakeholder management. An understanding of Community Fundraising developments and best practice would be advantageous.
The ideal candidate will be driven, creative and possess excellent attention to detail.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Degree educated or equivalent experience in a direct marketing role
- Excellent understanding of the steps involved in planning and delivering multi-channel direct marketing campaigns
- Direct marketing sector developments, legal requirements and best practice
- In depth knowledge of direct marketing techniques - testing, profiling, segmentation, return on investment, cost per contact etc. to achieve the most effective campaign results
- Charity sector developments and best practice
- Excellent communication skills to elicit great team working to deliver campaigns
- Ability to inspire others
- Comfortable with analysis and metrics to constantly improve campaign performance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Interpreting data and trends, with the ability to analyse and report on results
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- Has worked in environment/conservation
- Has worked in not-for-profit/charity
Additional Information:
- This is a 12 month Fixed Term, Full-Time maternity cover role for 37.5 hours per week.
