Our team in Camden has an exciting new opportunity for a Women Specialist Advocate to join the WiSER project, based in Camden. You will join us on a fixed term basis until the end of March 2025 (with the possibility of extension subject to ongoing funding.)
The WiSER Project is a partnership of specialist charities working together to provide support and advocacy for women whose experiences of violence and abuse intersect with multiple and severe disadvantage. We work with women who are frequently excluded from mainstream services and/or find it hard to engage with support, which increases their vulnerability and risk. Our assertive outreach approach enables women to access support, increase their self-esteem, and make safe choices.
About the Women Specialist Advocate role:
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic Specialist Advocate to join our advocacy and support team in Camden, with a specific remit to reach and support women facing multiple disadvantage. You will work intensively with a small caseload of women as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating extensively with external agencies.
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and have a strong understanding of how this can make it difficult for women to engage with support. You will have worked with people experiencing various aspects of severe and multiple disadvantage: homelessness, substance use, mental health issues, insecure immigration status, prostitution, offending history and children taken in to care. Most importantly, you will be committed to improving services and life chances for women affected by VAWG who are experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage.
Please note: This service is run by women for women and is therefore restricted to women applicants under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
About you:
- An excellent understanding of the issues faced by women survivors of VAWG, including a knowledge of options for and rights of women experiencing all forms of VAWG.
- The ability to take a resilient and assertive approach to reaching out to and building trust and positive relationships with women who are experiencing multiple disadvantage, and who may present as reluctant to engage and/or may be presenting in crisis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of professionals (some of whom may have very different approaches to problem solving) through a multi-agency approach, and advocate to agencies on behalf of the Project and its service users.
- A demonstrable commitment to providing a non-judgemental, non-directive and empowering approach to supporting women.
- A high level of personal organisation with the ability to plan and prioritise your own work.

The Digital Content Manager role sits in the Knowledge Dissemination Department of the Schools Division. Main purpose of the post
We are seeking to appoint a Research Funding Manager with experience in managing the development and submissions process for successful research bids, to be part of a wider team that spearheads RUSI’s research fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Director, Research Business Development, the successful candidate will lead the process for preparing high-value bids, including drafting sections of the narrative and reviewing budgets, and be responsible for building central resources to improve and facilitate effective business development operations. This is a highly collaborative role that involves building very strong internal relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders and skilfully managing competing priorities, personalities, and deadlines. We are seeking a team player with a pragmatic and positive attitude, who will enjoy learning about RUSI’s research areas and building stronger systems and processes to help us to make Business Development more efficient and successful.
Key tasks

For UK Government, US Government, EU and Canadian Government bids, and bids over £100,000 value to RUSI:

End-to-end project management of high-quality bids, including tender responses, funding applications and requests to participate.

Manage internal and external communications to ensure that the RUSI team, and partners, are aware of evaluation criteria, key themes, deadlines, and other critical information. Agree roles, responsibilities and timelines between key stakeholders.

Compile and arrange high-quality and compelling bid language working with subject matter experts, draft responses to institutional questions, and offer quality assurance ahead of submission.

Review project budgets to be signed off by RUSI’s COO, ensuring that they are prepared consistently and in line with RUSI policies and funder requirements, working with RUSI research teams to achieve this.

Serve as the institutional point of contact for the key funders listed above – attend Early Market Engagements/supplier events, funder events, webinars, to ensure you are up to date on their priorities and RUSI is competitive with our bids. Maintain a centralised database and disseminate up-to-date information on each funder’s practices, key dates, preferences, upcoming opportunities etc.

For all other bids, review budgets for accuracy, competitiveness and to ensure costs are in line with RUSI’s policies and previous submissions, and, once finalised, seek approval from the COO.

Work with the Director for Research Business Development, Research Directors and the Deputy Director General to identify and cultivate new relationships within each of the key funders, ensuring that we have good awareness of upcoming plans, expectations and priorities.

Facilitate links to partner organisations (primes) and build and manage consortia-based relationships to ensure we have oversight of upcoming opportunities and are able to negotiate successful partnerships.

Ensure use of best practice across research groups in our approach to bids and budgets, and that key documents, outcomes, research impact, and decisions are saved centrally for future use.

With support from the BD team, develop and execute a plan to inform, train and mentor research and central services colleagues on best practice for bids, including a focus on wider business awareness.

Respond to due diligence requests received by RUSI from research funders, ensure we have a central database of up-to-date policies and documents required to respond successfully and quickly.

Work with the Business Development team to build organisational systems and processes for effective BD, collaborate with BD colleagues to share feedback and ideas, support each other, and develop central projects to improve BD across the organisation.

Attend Business Development meetings with research groups and build strong relationships with project managers and project officers, capturing feedback and seeking input to BD processes and practices.

Manage the process for new funder approvals with the Deputy Director General.

Be a member of RUSI’s Research Committee and report on bid statuses and other relevant information when needed.

The Role
FareShare has a dynamic fundraising department that has seen incredible growth in support in an incredibly short space of time. We are now looking for a proven Supporter Retention Manager to join us as we embark on our next phase of deepening engagement with current and new supporters.
This newly created role is an integral part of the Fundraising team’s growth plans to become a £40 million income generating team.
Working closely with the Supporter Acquisition Manager, Supporter Experience Manager (Fundraising Operations) and the wider Fundraising team, the post-holder will lead on stewardship campaigns encompassing Warm Appeals, Regular Giving asks, Supporter newsletters and cross-sell campaigns across FareShare’s audiences. About the team
Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups and supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.
With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:
- creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
- sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups; and

About the role
We have a new and exciting opportunity to work with us as an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Manager (External) to provide continuity while our EDI Strategy Lead is on maternity leave. Reporting to the Executive Director, Impact and working with key stakeholders and colleagues across the whole organisation, you will help ensure alignment between our external For Everyone Strategic Framework and our new organisational strategy. As the EDI Manager (External) you will be supporting the Senior Leadership Team to deliver core actions from the For Everyone External Action Plan. You will also be responsible for reporting and evaluating progress on the implementation of the For Everyone External Action Plan.
You will be overseeing the consistent implementation of Sustrans Approaches, a new document that sets out the services that Sustrans offers, with a particular focus on inclusive design and delivery. As part of this, you will be providing guidance, training and bespoke support to colleagues, so that they feel confident and competent in inclusive design principles and practice.
Ensuring quality and timely execution, you will be managing specific EDI work projects and change initiatives, as outlined in the External Action Plan and/or Sustrans Approaches. This includes coordinating colleagues across UK-wide teams to share knowledge, resources and good practice on embedding equity, diversity and inclusion across our external projects.
This role will be home-based, with the option of hybrid working. Occasional travel to our hubs across the UK will be required as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you

You should have previous experience of managing and implementing EDI related initiatives in engagement, infrastructure and/or urban planning projects, including supporting colleagues to embed EDI in their work.

You should have successful project management experience, with excellent time management and organisational skills. You will also be accustomed to multitasking to tight deadlines.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements
Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.
The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.

We’re looking for a MEAL specialist who is, at heart, a peacebuilder. You’ll deputise for the Regional Director as needed, and work collaboratively as a key part of the Regional Leadership Team to shape the strategic direction of Concordis’ future work across the Central African region.
As Regional Head of MEAL, your work will go above and beyond reporting to the donor on logframe outputs and outcomes to the donor, as important as those are. With your extensive peacebuilding experience, you’ll work with the team to develop and implement sophisticated metrics for measuring these changes over time. You’ll feed this information back into programme delivery, to ensure programmes remain accountable to the wider population and adapt to the rapidly changing and fragile contexts in which we work.
You’ll also use your flair for writing and your publishing skills to produce more informal news items, telling stories of the impact of our work, and publicising the recommendations that come from dialogues we facilitate. This will help us amplify voices that are often ignored by decision makers, leading to evidence-based policy making.
