Supporter care, stewardship and engagement

• Recruit, manage and support guests attending Back Up’s high-profile special events, delivering a seamless and memorable experience from invitation to follow-up.
• Work closely with the Partnerships Team to engage, steward and strengthen relationships with corporate partners and sponsors connected to special events.
• Recruit, develop and manage a dedicated team of volunteers, supporting them in line with Back Up’s volunteering policy and ensuring they feel confident, motivated and appreciated.
• Partner with the Finance team to ensure robust, efficient processes are in place to handle income, process donations and thank supporters promptly and accurately.
• Support Event Committee members by coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and enabling committees to play a meaningful role in the success of events.
• Build strong relationships with the Services Team to recruit people with spinal cord injury, along with their family and friends, to engage with and benefit from our special events programme.

Operational Events Co-ordination and Support

• Deliver the operational coordination of Special and Cultivation events, including managing enquiries, fundraising communications and timely supporter thank-yous.
• Prepare and maintain detailed risk assessments with the Special Events Manager to ensure safe and professional event delivery.
• Manage and build strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers.
• Work with the Communications Team to deliver creative marketing and communications plans that grow audiences and raise awareness of events.
• Support the Special Events Manager to develop and deliver the annual special events fundraising plan, contributing to budgets and KPIs to increase income and reach.
• Proactively identify and develop new and existing Special and Cultivation event opportunities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all supporter, guest and volunteer interactions on the database.
• Keep up to date with fundraising best practice and sector standards.
• Provide regular reporting to the Special Events Manager, including progress against KPIs and budgets.
• Undertake other duties as required to support the Special Events programme.

About the role

Do you live in Cardiff or the surrounding area?

As a senior community fundraiser, you’ll will an important part of the team building Breast Cancer Now’s presence in Wales, with a particular focus on South Wales. 

We’re looking for someone who is an experienced relationship builder, someone who can find and develop new supporters.  You’ll need excellent local knowledge, and the enthusiasm to develop the local region.

The successful candidate will also be part of the team working on our large-scale project supporting and growing Asda Tickled Pink, our award-winning partnership with Asda and CoppaFeel! which has already raised over £100 million.

You’ll work directly with passionate colleagues across Asda stores in your region driving new fundraising initiatives, inspiring communities, and celebrating their incredible successes.

No 2 days will look the same as you travel, connect and engage supporters to help us grow income to deliver our mission.

The role is initially offered as an 18-month contract with the potential to become permanent.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

Confident in approaching new contacts and are experienced in developing new relationships from scratch. This may currently be in a customer service, account management or stewardship role.

Experienced in managing and building new and established relationships with a focus on retention and income growth.

Enthusiastic, proactive, organised and unafraid to test and try new ideas.

This role will involve being out and about in the community you’re building, so you must be able to work independently outside of the office in varying locations and enjoy being busy.

Previous experience working in a charity is not required. The ability to speak Welsh would be desirable.

Primary location of role

The candidate will need to be based in Cardiff or the surrounding area with unlimited access to their own car. Regular travel will be required to meet supporters and visit Asda stores in your region, as well as occasional travel to our London, office.

Family Action & the Role’s Impact: 

We are seeking a Peer Mentoring Coordinator to develop and manage our new LGBTQ+ Peer Mentoring Programme, training and supporting Project Indigo members to become mentors in the local community.

Project Indigo is the LGBTQ+ youth service based at Off Centre at Family Action. It is open to anyone aged 16-25 who identifies as LGBTQ+ or is exploring their sexuality or gender identity. Our weekly youth group is a safe, supportive space for LGBTQ+ young people to meet each other and participate in workshops and activities. In addition to the youth group, Project Indigo offers 1-to-1 support and advice sessions with the Project Lead. The group aims to support young people to build links with the local LGBTQ+ community, build meaningful relationships and get support around issues that are impacting them. Project Indigo maintains a youth-led and person-centred approach, with this role being developed in consultation with our members to support them in accessing training and support to do community-focused work. The Peer Mentoring Coordinator’s role will be to develop a new Peer Mentoring Programme, supporting older Project Indigo members to train as mentors and deliver mentoring sessions with younger LGBTQ+ people in the local community.

Off Centre is a service that provides a range of targeted mental health focused support services to young people aged 16 to 25 who reside/are registered with a City and Hackney GP. These include: individual, counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group art psychotherapy, key-work support, out of hours drop-in service on Thursday evenings; targeted provision for children and young people of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage (ACH); and an Information and Advice provision.

The role

As the Peer Mentoring Coordinator, you will develop and lead Project Indigo’s Peer Mentoring Programme. Central to the role will be understanding young mentors’ needs and goals, and providing high quality supervisory support throughout the training and mentoring process. You will further develop the Mentoring programme, consulting with relevant organisations, liaising with partners, and keeping accurate records to monitor progress for administrative and evaluative purposes.

Your impact

This role will enrich Project Indigo’s holistic offer by providing young people with the opportunity to access training, qualifications and work experience while receiving high quality support tailored to their needs. You will offer sensitive supervisory support to young LGBTQ+ mentors, supporting their diverse need by maintaining an empathetic, intersectional and youth-led approach.

Your skills

You will be a confident communicator with proven experience of working in a supportive role with LGBTQ+ young people and/or evidence of in-depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBTQ+ young people, in particular trans and gender diverse young people.

You will be empathetic and maintain an understanding of the social issues impacting young LGBTQ+ people. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage your time and workload effectively. You will have an understanding of risk management, health and safety issues and the ability in accordance with local and organisational safeguarding policies.

The role

Organisation:

 

The Student Lifestyle & Behaviours Coordinator role is to supervise, develop and support staff to deliver the Community, Advice & Support departmental plan. Acting as a role model for the required standard of values, behaviour and performance, we expect Coordinators to help to create an inclusive and engaging environment for all.

The role is required to:

· Work with the Senior Student Lifestyle Coordinator and other stakeholders to further develop and improve the ‘Support’ area of the department, to enhance the student experience.

· Be responsible for supervising student staff members to deliver Support and Lifestyle projects, in relation to student wellbeing, consent and harm reduction.

· Deliver targeted workshops, events, and initiatives that support student health and wellbeing, fostering positive lifestyle choices and outcomes in a way that reflects and respects the diversity of the University’s student population.

· Support the implementation of student wellbeing external accreditation schemes, administration and delivery of associated activities, seeking support from and liaising with Guild and University colleagues.

The Volunteer & Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and supporting volunteers at Catching Lives. This is a pivotal role in the charity which includes recruitment and induction of volunteers; managing the rota to cover shifts; managing food ordering in response to demand and budget; ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and meets high standard of hygiene; and communicating daily with volunteer teams.

With 100+ volunteers across the Centre and Bookshop, being Volunteer & Kitchen Coordinator calls for excellent organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to offer a friendly and non-judgemental service to people experiencing homelessness and other issues.

This is a part-time post at 25 hours per week. The working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate and is normally between 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and evening working.

About this role:

Reporting to the Head of Policy and Communications, the Policy and Communications Coordinator will support SIB’s track record of sector, government and media engagement, notably the high standard of publication set through its media partnerships with Tortoise and the Financial Times, its contributions to the policy landscape in the social sector, and its in-house data analysis and insight generation. This new post will contribute to SIB’s ongoing communications and public policy work and its reach and influence, building on a growing base of expertise across SIB’s three strategic priority areas: Green Transition, Infrastructure and Services.

Key responsibilities

1. Support the Head of Policy and Communications to deliver the Policy and Communications strategy for SIB.

2. Making use of media and parliamentary tracking software keep abreast of SIB’s strategic policy areas, sharing accessible updates and digests of relevant legislation and central and local government programming and media coverage.

3. Attend / watch online relevant parliamentary committees, All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) and Commons and Lords sessions, capturing relevant outcomes and identifying MPs and Lords that SIB should seek to work with / influence.

4. Support the Head of Policy and Communications to identify a key parliamentary contacts list. Create tailored communications for these key contacts which share relevant statistics and case studies from SIB’s portfolio, alongside policy influencing lines. This will include drafting questions and briefings where relevant, and ensuring that regular contact is maintained. 

5. Support the drafting of consultation responses and press releases using SIB’s core messaging, reporting, research and data.

6. Support SIB’s annual party conference attendance with coordination and administration in advance and in person.

7. Support the Head of Policy and Communications with attendance at influencing meetings and webinars with, for example, the Association of Decentralised Energy, Community Energy England, Locality, Better Society Capital, the Access Foundation and others.

8. Draft internal and external copy for newsletters and the SIB intranet and website.

9. Monitor the press email address and support correspondence with journalists on reactive and proactive stories.

10. Attend and provide oversight to the Social Investment Forum, as part of SIB’s secretariat and hosting.

11. Write, edit and produce engaging and relevant content at pace for web, social media and e-newsletters, as well as earned and paid channels.

12. Management of external suppliers of communications and policy activities, including agencies, designers, consultants and think tanks.

13. Work with the Marketing Manager, Marketing and Events Coordinator, Business Development Manager and wider team to deliver successful external events with customers, stakeholders and partners including attendance at Party Conferences.

Overview

Involve Community Services is a local infrastructure charity that supports the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sectors of Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough. We offer development and governance support, funding advice, grant writing, volunteer and trustee recruitment, and a comprehensive training programme. We also run several well-being projects that include Community Navigation, Cancer Support and Social Prescribing within Wokingham Borough.

Role summary

The Community Development Worker will work across Wokingham Borough to assist small charities, community groups and social enterprises who have a health and well-being focus, as well as those organisations who aid residents with protected characteristics. They will assist organisations to find solutions to existing challenges and overcome barriers to optimise their delivery, e.g., through sourcing volunteers, committee members, funding opportunities, forming simple governance structures, and seeking premises.

The post holder will advocate for members of the community with protected characteristics as well as those whose voices are seldom heard, and act as a voice for marginalised groups, to aid inclusive decision making and delivery of services across the borough. The postholder will develop a broad, informed view of the local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector and will communicate this to colleagues within Involve, the wider Friendship Alliance (a collective of charities who have a shared interest in addressing loneliness and social isolation), and to statutory partners. The postholder will also identify gaps in provision and help to develop or enhance existing partnerships so to optimise their impact to residents.

The Active Ageing Coordinator will run BIAS’s very popular twice-weekly active ageing lunch clubs in Dollis Hill and Cricklewood, which attract over 50 attendees per session, working with a team of volunteers to coordinate activities including Irish music, dancing and bingo. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic person who is happy to take a hands-on approach to the development and delivery of our active ageing project. You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to proactively build positive relationships with volunteers and service users, along with excellent organisational abilities.

The project (funded by the Irish Government’s Emigrant Support Programme) will also involve delivering occasional special events for club members, such as St Patrick’s Day and Christmas celebrations and health and wellbeing days. You will need a strong capacity to build relationships and partnerships with other organisations and community groups in the borough, and a willingness to work with the leadership team on the marketing and development of the clubs, including via social media.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take the lead on the day-to-day running of BIAS’s two active ageing clubs in Brent, ensuring that they are welcoming, accessible and available to all.
• Carry out administrative tasks necessary for the successful running of the clubs, including shopping for club supplies, preparing refreshments, setting up music, organising entertainment and banking attendance fees, working within agreed budgets.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all club members during club sessions, and manage communication and additional engagement with members outside of club sessions.
• Record and maintain member and attendance information in BIAS’s client management system.
• Where needed and possible, provide support to BIAS’s Active Ageing Coordinator in Haringey borough, and cooperate on joint club initiatives.
• Working in close cooperation with BIAS’s Volunteer Manager, encourage volunteer recruitment and retention and supervise volunteers during club sessions, ensuring that they have a safe working environment and a positive, fulfilling volunteering experience.
• Contribute to the promotion of the active ageing clubs in the local community, help create content and manage community interactions on BIAS’s social media accounts, and represent BIAS at occasional community events.
• Organise an annual summer outing for club members, and work closely with the leadership team on the organisation of a Christmas event for the wider BIAS community.
• Plan annual Health and Wellbeing Days in cooperation with local health networks, and work with the management team to identify other possible initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of active ageing club members.
• Develop and maintain good relations with other cultural organisations and community groups in Brent, with the aim of promoting cooperation and cross-cultural exchanges.
• Work with the management team to identify opportunities for expansion of the active ageing project and ways to increase community engagement with BIAS.
• Attend regular supervision sessions with the Head of Operations, and be willing to undertake training and professional development as needed.

These are the basic duties required of the Active Ageing Coordinator. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community for over forty-five years. BrightPIP (Brighton Parent/Infant Psychological Therapy) is a specialist infant mental health charity supporting babies aged 0–2 and their families across Brighton & Hove and Sussex. ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a warm, organised and proactive Project Coordinator to support the smooth running of BrightPIP’s services and internal operations. This role sits at the heart of the charity, ensuring families experience a clear and supportive journey, clinicians are well supported, and systems run calmly and efficiently.

You will coordinate key operational processes including referrals and triage, safeguarding documentation, audit and impact data, training administration, and NHS and Local Authority liaison.
