You’ll be the main point of contact for our amazing fundraisers — supporting them from their first enquiry to celebrating their success. You’ll plan, organise and coordinate community fundraising campaigns and events, help develop resources and fundraising materials, and play a key role in building lasting relationships with our fundraising supporters.

Essential:

• Experience in community or events fundraising, supporter engagement, or a similar customer-facing role.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills — friendly, confident, and supportive.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Good written communication and attention to detail.
• Confident using digital tools such as Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and social media platforms.
• Passion for inclusion and supporting families of children with Down syndrome

Desired Attributes:

• Experience managing small fundraising events or community campaigns
• Knowledge of JustGiving or similar online fundraising platforms
• Understanding of charity communications, supporter journeys, or stewardship best practice

 Responsibilities:

• Manage the fundraising inbox, responding to enquiries and supporting individual fundraisers and community supporters.
• Develop fundraising resources and materials to support campaigns and initiatives.
• Support existing fundraisers with guidance, encouragement, and resources to help them reach their goals.
• Plan, organise, and deliver engaging fundraising and community events that raise income and bring our community together.
• Recruit and onboard new fundraisers through the website, social media, and email campaigns. Keep the fundraising sections of the website up to date and engaging.
• Deliver excellent supporter stewardship, including thanking fundraisers and maintaining regular communications. Maintain accurate fundraiser records and communications in the supporter database.
• Gather case studies, photos, quotes, and testimonials from fundraisers for publicity and marketing.
• Work with the fundraising team to develop strategies to grow fundraiser recruitment and retention.
• Manage the fundraising calendar, promoting external events (such as Tough Mudder) and coordinating DSUK-led campaigns (such as the Big PADS Push).
• Develop and support regional volunteers involved in fundraising events and activities.
• Manage time effectively to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Provide administrative support for fundraising events and initiatives as needed

The new role of Community Organiser: Community of St Paulinus at Sheffield Cathedral plays a key role in establishing the Cathedral as a resourcing church, partnering with parishes in the inclusive catholic tradition and embedding community organising principles across our parish partnerships and the Cathedral itself. Community organising is not simply a method but a core discipline in this initiative — shaping how relationships are built, leaders are developed, and action is taken for the common good. Through this approach, the Cathedral and its partners will contribute to the founding of Sheffield Citizens and work collaboratively for justice and human flourishing across the region. At the heart of the resourcing project will be a new non-residential mission community called the Community of St Paulinus (CsP). Although based at the Cathedral, notably in the rhythm of prayer, the CsP will be deployed in contextual mission with parish partners. Who We Are

 Our charity was established in 1992, to provide care and support to people in Sussex, living with and affected by HIV. Over the past three decades there have been huge advances in treatment and care for those affected by the virus. People taking effective anti-retroviral medication (ART’s) can live long lives, with HIV becoming undetectable and untransmittable.

Whilst people who are living with HIV can live longer, many develop other physical co-morbidities as they age and many experience social and self-stigma. Our service users are often from marginalised groups, who often experience inter-sectional discrimination and health inequalities. Many of our service users experience socio-economic disadvantage and have multiple and complex needs.

The Sussex Beacon offers a range of services to people who have been living with HIV for decades through to those who are newly diagnosed.  Our services include:

· Community Nurse-led Clinical Service

· Community Outreach Support Services

· Peer Mentoring

· Living Well Exercise Programme

· Day Services and Group Work

In addition to our HIV services, The Sussex Beacon has announced that it is to become a fully inclusive Hospice, providing dedicated Hospice care to the LGBTQ+ community.

The Sussex Beacon has two charity shops in Brighton and an active fundraising team, who help raise the money we need to keep our services running for the people who need them across Sussex.

The Role

This is an exciting time for The Sussex Beacon, as we are about to launch our new 2030 Strategic Plan and move to a new era of delivery, through the evolution of our end of life and palliative care for the LGBTQ+ community.  The Sussex Beacon will be the first Hospice of its kind in the country tackling stigma and health inequalities for those who are most marginalised in our community.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Mass Participation Lead to join our Income Generation team. Working alongside the Head of Income, you’ll take the lead on planning, delivering, and growing our portfolio of mass participation events, including some of the UK’s most iconic runs:

• Brighton Half Marathon – proudly owned by The Sussex Beacon
• London Marathon
• Brighton Marathon
• Vitality 10k
• London Landmarks Half Marathon
• Great South Run
• Red Run

In addition, you’ll collaborate with the Head of Income on the development and launch of two exciting new events scheduled for 2026/2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on all aspects of mass participation fundraising events, from recruitment and engagement of participants to event-day logistics and post-event stewardship.
• Develop and implement creative campaigns to maximise participant sign-ups, fundraising income, and supporter retention.
• Build strong relationships with participants, corporate partners, and event organisers to enhance The Sussex Beacon’s presence and reputation.
• Support the Head of Income in the strategic growth of the events programme and delivery of income targets.

They are searching for a passionate and strategic Trust and Foundation Fundraiser to join their committed team and help secure vital funding that will directly support patients and their families during life’s most critical moments.

As Trust and Foundation Fundraiser, you will devise and lead a trust and foundation fundraising strategy in order to achieve set goals and financial targets. You will oversee the writing of applications for both core funding and new capital and revenue projects, ensuring the cases for support are strong and compelling. You will aim to improve their new trust acquisition and maintain their retention of existing trust and foundation supporters.  You will also assist with small major donor cultivation events with the support of the Donor Relations Officer and Development Director and other senior Hospice staff to maximise impact.

We are recruiting for Community Fundraising Lead to provide support and guidance to individuals and small groups of existing volunteers across a range of geographical areas, many of whom have been on a journey with the charity for decades, recognising their values whilst ensuring the updated mission of the charity is respected and communicated effectively. About You

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the postholder will be responsible for building on our existing community fundraising initiatives, which includes networks of loyal volunteers and church contacts – from international pilgrim participants completing fundraising treks to congregations organising bake sales. Liaising with people at all levels, the role will oversee initiatives such as our Ambassador programme, encouraging people to be confident representatives of the charity and ensure they are equipped to share key updates about national campaigns and community fundraising initiatives.
