Working alongside the Community Fundraising Manager the role will be responsible for being proactive in engaging local communities to maximise income generation by developing a plan to gain more supporters. You will be responsible for growing income by developing and maintaining relationships with volunteers, schools and other community groups.

About the role

• Grow income from Community Fundraising through phoning and visiting local Groups, schools & individuals, supporting existing supporters and promoting new fundraising initiatives
• Manage and grow income from collection pots and coordinate a collection of these pots on a regular basis
• Support our fundraising groups and supporters and generate publicity for their activities
• Manage Just Giving and other on-line giving sites for community events, and ensure that donors and participants are thanked in a timely and appropriate manner
• Co-ordinate volunteer support for community events where this is required
• Handle general telephone and personal enquiries regarding donations or other fundraising issues

Community Fundraiser
Location: HEMS Way, Lincoln, LN4 2GW - We currently operate a Hybrid Working system of a minimum of 3 days in the officer and 2 days at home.

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) provides lifesaving critical care to the communities of Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire, funded by public donations. If somebody is involved in a serious incident or suddenly taken ill, speed and time are of the essence. Giving a patient the best chance of survival, our Air Ambulance crew effectively take the A&E department to the scene of the emergency.

About the Role

Due to an internal promotion this a great opportunity to join our fundraising team.

This includes to:-

• Motivate and facilitate our wonderful supporters to maximise the funds they raise.
• Inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters always ensuring they receive the best possible supporter experience.
• Maximise the ethical and sustainable generation of funds for the Charity through proactively developing community fundraising across Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire in line with the current strategy.
• Work as a part of the wider Fundraising team, contribute to our shared team goals and income targets.

We are looking for a Community Fundraiser with a proven track record of achieving ambitious community fundraising targets. You will be an excellent communicator and an energetic self-starter. You are comfortable with working independently, but ready to utilise the support of colleagues across the Fund. You are perceptive and versatile and will have the ability to translate our story into rich content and compelling scenarios inspiring people to work with us. Above all, you naturally build rapport to quickly establish relationships and develop innovative partnerships.​

You will equally be as comfortable supporting members of the RAF family who want to fundraise, as you will presenting to a room full of students, a company or potential volunteers. No one day will be the same and you will be the local face and voice of the Fund on the ground. You will quickly build your understanding of the key influencers in your community and you will ensure they understand what we do so they will want to be associated with the charity. You will be responsible for raising income through existing networks of supporters, volunteers and building new relationships within the RAF, community groups and local business.​

The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.

We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. To do this we need to systematically build a pipeline of donors and supporters, to build profile and new relationships. In the short term we need someone who can lead the development of a series of applications to trusts, foundations and other sources of funding to support our priority workstreams.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• Primary focus will be on managing and soliciting income from your own portfolio of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders, securing gifts of between £10,000 - £1,000,000 to successfully achieve the charity’s ambitious fundraising targets.
• Secondary focus will be on the planning and delivery of first-class Special Events and Major Donor fundraising.
• Create a robust prospect pipeline of effectively researched and qualified funders, ensuring a continued flow of prospects through the pipeline, taking a sales approach to lead generation and the assessment of the warmth and value donors.
• Deliver effective research of prospective and existing donors, which enables us to raise significant income through both new and existing relationships; utilising our networks effectively.
• Implement effective cultivation and stewardship journeys that provides a high-quality supporter experience to your portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Deliver first-class relationship management to ensure excellent ongoing relationships with donors in both a written and face-to-face capacity.
• Deliver exceptional writing skills through proposal and bid writing and day-to-day communication with donors and colleagues.
• Fully understand the charity’s projects and activities to both ascertain their suitability as funding propositions and communicate them in a compelling manner to funders.
• Work closely with operational colleagues to develop compelling and thorough cases for support to inform our research and fundraising strategies.

Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, an excellent opportunity to join a long-standing regional Hospice, with Head Office based in Surrey area.

• This role can be either Full-Time (37.5 hours a week) or Part-Time (30 hours a week).
• Hybrid working pattern, with a min of 3 days office based for Full-Time hours.
• Salary; Full-Time - £35,000 per annum. Part-Time - £28,000 per annum.
• Must have a driving license.

As the Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, you will work with the Community and Events Lead, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the community and events fundraising plans and activities. You will managing a varied portfolio of events, including third party, challenges and bespoke. Along with engaging with the community to develop and implement plans for maximising income and support from individuals, groups and businesses.

Key Responsibilities for ensuring the delivery of community and events fundraising plans and activities:

• Manage, achieve and where possible exceed Community and Events income targets, taking a lead for specific projects, activities and events.
• Support the Community and Events Lead, contributing to the development of annual plans and budgets.
• Project manage challenge events (e.g. London Marathon, bike rides, skydives etc.), liaise with third-party organisers, participant recruitment and participant support.
• Work with other teams across Fundraising and MarComms to market and promote fundraising products, activities and events.
• Organise events, including liaison with venues, suppliers, monitoring expenditure, volunteers and participants and ensure all preparation is complete.
• Ensure an excellent level of supporter care and stewardship with supporters is maintained and developed.
• Provide regular reports and information about activities, supporters and volunteers.
• Line management of a Community and Events Fundraising Assistant.

To be successful in this Senior Community and Events Fundraiser role, you will have gained skills and experiences in the following areas;

• Previous experience working in fundraising in either a community, challenge or mass participant event capacity.
• Experience of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with individual fundraisers/supporters and/or, managing fundraising events.
• Experience of working to budgets, targets and plans.
• Previous experience of managing staff and/or volunteers.
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations.

This is an exciting time to join a highly successful and friendly fundraising team at Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) as out National Events Fundraiser. Our ideal candidate is passionate, proactive and organised and will enjoy supporting hundreds of Team MRF runners who are fundraising to defeat meningitis.

Events Fundraiser

Salary: £23,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Bristol, hybrid or remote working with monthly meetings in Bristol 

MRF National Events Programme

The MRF National Events Fundraiser is responsible for a significant proportion of our events income with hundreds of runners each year taking on the challenge of participating in iconic races such as TCS London Marathon and A J Bell Great North Run.

Many of our race participants join Team MRF for deeply personal reasons, having had first-hand experience of the disease. Without Team MRF runners we would not be where we are in the race to defeat Meningitis, they are fundamental to our work and have been so since our early days as a charity.

The National Events Fundraiser is an enjoyable role at MRF within a very successful fundraising team, which last year raised over £500,000 by supporting hundreds of runners on Team MRF.

Role Summary

This role is all about working with people, encouraging them as part of Team MRF and supporting them to reach their fundraising goals. You will need to be enthusiastic, outgoing and thrive in motivating people to take action through their fundraising.

You will need to be an advocate for MRF’s work to defeat meningitis, enabling people to achieve their goals and achieving the best for the Charity. It is through the determination of everyone involved with the national events programme that we are able to deliver a number of our goals as a charity. You will harness that passion to help each runner succeed and understand what a difference they make along the way.

With many different elements to the role from planning, marketing, stewardship and event delivery you will need to be flexible and adaptable. This isn’t a fully desk-based job, as at different points of the year you will get the chance to meet Team MRF runners face to face by attending the events themselves and delivering celebratory post-race receptions.

With large teams of runners across a rolling annual events programme you must feel comfortable in managing deadlines, overlapping plans and keeping on top of supporter communications. Whilst we have systems in place to support this, our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own workload.

This a fun role that sees the events through from start to finish and a great opportunity for the right candidate.
