Our services

Our uncompromisable support services are wide-ranging and bespoke to each family.  We provide symptom management, end-of-life care, post-death care, short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and more.

We support families across a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The hospice is easily accessible from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and North Notts. We have free secure on-site parking for families, staff and volunteers to use. 

Every year we need to raise £6.7m to keep our doors open and only around 17% of our income comes from government sources, the rest must be raised through fundraising activity.

The role:

Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and Communications, this role will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our fundraising strategy. You will lead a talented team of six fundraising professionals, overseeing Corporate, Community, and Events fundraising. About the role
You will manage a team of 3 fundraising professionals to plan and deliver our portfolio of virtual and DIY fundraising events, including our Facebook Challenges and growing Swim It campaign, with the objective of raising over £6m for people living with cancer. You will be responsible for the campaign strategy and delivery, supporting the team on recruitment through paid and organic marketing and delivering sector-leading stewardship, acting as the strategic lead for both internal and external relationships to enable this delivery. 

This role does require weekend work (although not at your desk) as you’ll be out and about cheering on our participants. You will be compensated for your weekend work with days in lieu.

 Please note, the internal job title for this role is Senior Challenge Events Programme Manager.
 

About you

• Leadership and Management: Experience of successfully motivating others to deliver projects – this could be as a project manager or lead, matrix manager or line manager. And experience of working collaboratively to improve or maintain a positive, inclusive team culture.
• Project management: Responsible for your teams planning, marketing, delivery and optimisations of your fundraising product portfolio.
• Relationship Management: An ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and external partners, which enable productive collaboration on projects
• Marketing and Stewardship Skills: Experience of delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns or management of complex projects, in line with agreed budgets and schedules and of delivering mass-scale stewardship campaigns.
• Results-focus: Experience of using data or insight to understand performance, make decisions and inform plans

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We have an exciting opportunity to join our sector-leading Community Fundraising team as a Community Fundraising Executive.

We’re an ambitious charity with a bold mission and fantastic culture. As a key member of the Community Fundraising team, you’ll work alongside the Community Fundraising Managers, Executives and Co-ordinators to achieve the exciting growth plans in our new 3-year fundraising strategy.

In this role, you’ll take the lead on our DIY walking and cycling fundraising activity, which currently raises over £750k each year. You’ll be responsible for providing outstanding relationship management for our fundraisers, ensuring every supporter feels valued, motivated and proud to be part of our community.

Using data and insight, you’ll spot trends, identify new opportunities and help shape fresh, creative ideas to grow income and improve the supporter experience. You’ll also lead on development projects, like designing new supporter journeys, working closely with teams across the charity to make sure our fundraisers are inspired and supported every step of the way.

What we want from you

We’re looking for someone with knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment – ideally within a community or events context. You’ll have a proven track record of delivering brilliant supporter experiences, building genuine relationships and stewarding fundraisers through their events. You’ll understand the importance of meeting supporter needs and how to keep them inspired and connected to the cause.

You’ll bring excellent organisational skills and experience of planning and managing projects with multiple stakeholders, making sure we hit our KPIs and maximise fundraising income. With knowledge of how to plan, deliver and evaluate marketing activity, including digital campaigns on Meta, you’ll be comfortable finding ways to engage new supporters and keep them motivated.

A forward-thinker and natural problem solver, you won’t be afraid to use your initiative and analytical skills to spot opportunities for improvement and help shape new ideas. You’ll have experience developing, or supporting the development of, annual fundraising plans and budgets, and delivering against these to meet targets.

We are the charitable arm of Bedford Blues Rugby Club. We use the values of rugby and sport to change lives through interventions and programmes that support our local community. Our work aims to improve wellbeing, create inclusive opportunities, and develop skills in young people. Role Overview:

Our Fundraising Manager will play a major part in significantly increasing our growth in fundraising activities, including corporate and individual giving, community events and support our strong relationships with local businesses, schools and clubs, increasing grassroots engagement. They will lead our restricted and unrestricted fundraising as we enter another exciting period of growth for our charity. The role will manage and implement a high-quality marketing plan to demonstrate our impact and promote our services. OVERVIEW

This role will be a key member of our ambitious team, delivering a growing portfolio of fundraising campaigns, fundraising events, and supporter engagement initiatives. You’ll oversee our supporter journeys, manage our communications channels, and build meaningful relationships that drive income and deepen our impact.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Campaigns & Income Generation

• Work with the Head of Fundraising to plan and deliver our 12-month supporter journey – including fundraising campaigns (online and offline), events and appeals.
• Manage our calendar of challenge events (e.g. The Don’s Cycle Challenge, Wombles Walk, Sponsored Skydive).
• Grow supporter-led community fundraising in the local area.
• Lead outreach to engage new local partners – including small businesses, schools and clubs – promoting fundraising opportunities and supporting their initiatives.

Communications & Marketing

• Alongside the Head of Fundraising, lead all communications for the charity.
• Create engaging fundraising content for email, website, and social media to drive online donations, event and programme sign-ups.
• Work with the wider Foundation team and club comms team to create content for social media, e-newsletters and our website.
• Promote Foundation programmes and campaigns to fans, families, and local supporters, driving participation and donations.
• Create marketing materials (posters, flyers, etc.) to support charitable prorammes and campaigns.
• Collaborate with Senior Managers to share the impact of the Foundation through monitoring and evaluation reports. Including creating the annual organsiation Impact Report.
• Manage the Foundation’s website, ensuring content is regularly updated, fully functioning, and aligned with key campaigns, events, and programmes.

​Supporter Engagement & Stewardship

• Manage the supporter engagement programme, delivering a rolling 12-month plan of personalised and meaningful touchpoints.
• Develop and implement strategies to encourage increased giving and recruit new regular donors.
• Maximise engagement and retention of individual supporters (particularly low- to mid-level donors) through excellent donor care, timely thanking, and compelling communications.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hold a relevant higher education or industry recognised certification or have a minimum of at least 1–2 years' experience in a fundraising, communications, supporter engagement or similar role

About the role

In this rewarding role, you will manage a portfolio of third party running, hiking and cycling events with the objective of raising over £1 million for people living with cancer. 

You will be responsible for recruitment through paid and organic marketing and providing a sector-leading stewardship journey to ensure our supporters feel engaged and inspired from the moment they sign-up. You will also be responsible for multiple aspects of event delivery and have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the organisation.

You'll be line managing a Challenge Events Assistant who will play an important role in supporting your events programme, so strong relationship- building and nurturing skills will be key to help them develop and feel supported 

This role includes weekend work, primarily attending events to support participants in person, therefore attending events is an essential part of this role. Time off in lieu will be provided for weekend commitments. A full UK driving licence is desirable, and we welcome applications from individuals who are comfortable driving a van or open to training and support in doing so.

We are looking for a very confident, outgoing go-getter who loves using their gregarious personality to influence and enthuse people to get results but also enjoys being organised with strong admin processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has been involved in influencing organisations, businesses and groups or individuals to sign up to our range of challenge events (e.g. marathons etc.) You will be a part of a small but dynamic marketing and fundraising team and involved in many aspects of our work but focusing on filling and retaining places for our challenge events.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Fundraising will serve as the cornerstone of administrative support for ULI’s philanthropic fundraising initiatives in Europe. The role will report to the Vice President, Business Development & Membership on a day-to-day basis and work closely with the Chair of the ULI Charitable Trust and CEO ULI Europe. 

The role will have a functional reporting line to the Chief (Philanthropic) Fundraising Officer. This position requires excellent relationship management, organisational and communication skills. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and management support to the philanthropic fundraising initiatives of the ULI Charitable Trust (and the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee) and ULI Europe, including fundraising campaigns, processing collections (through ULI CT or ULI Europe) and preparing donor reports in cooperation with the ULI Finance team in the US.  
• Oversee and coordinate design and development of marketing collateral, presentations supporting fundraising campaigns, in collaboration with the ULI Europe Marketing and Communications team. 
• Collaborate closely with team members of the ULI Europe business Development and Membership team, in addition to ULI’s country directors and governance director to support the planning of, and coordinate the implementation of the European philanthropic fundraising strategy determined by ULI Europe (namely by the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee), focusing on both donations from individuals based in Europe and donations from European philanthropic foundations and government programmes;  
• Work with and manage relationships with individual and institutional donors, in close collaboration with the corporate accounts team, CEO, ULI Europe and the Chair of the Charitable Trust / Chair of the ULIF Europe Committee; 
• Work in close collaboration with Research & Advisory Services and ESG Programmes colleagues, to identify and research (third party) philanthropic funding and grant opportunities and assist in the preparation of applications for philanthropic funding from (third party) foundations and government agencies; 
• Coordination of proposal writing for potential foundation funding, in close collaboration with the research, marketing communications and legal and compliance teams.
• Set up and implement application, reporting and compliance process for philanthropic gifts for ULI Europe. 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• At least 6-8 years’ experience working in a similar role. 
• Experience working in an international business environment. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
