Ways of Working:

Job Title: Social Media Officer

Reporting to: Digital Marketing Manager

Location of work: Flexible. This post holder can be based in our London office or a hybrid approach working from home with office visits as required, we continue to seek to enable flexible and remote working. The role will involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland.

Contract type: Ideally full-time, 35 hours per week, although part time / flexible hours may be considered. The role may require occasional evening and weekend work

BACKGROUND

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. Over 200,000 children and young people are on roll at Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units that the charity works with, in disadvantaged areas of Scotland and England. Providing breakfast ensures that children start their school day with the energy and nutrition they need to be able to make the most of their morning lessons. Magic Breakfast also undertakes research, and campaigns for long-term solutions to end hunger as a barrier to learning.

JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. Through innovative, compelling content creation the Social Media Officer will raise awareness of our work and the Magic Breakfast brand. The role's aims are to reach and engage new audiences and to strengthen brand advocacy with exisiting target audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
• Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
• Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
• Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
• Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.

About First Give

First Give inspires young people to make a difference to the causes they care about. We do this through working in partnership with secondary schools, providing a fully resourced scheme of work that guides an entire year group of students to engage with local charities and causes and then carry out social action (fundraising, raising awareness, campaigning, volunteering etc) in support of them.

At the end of each programme, a celebratory School Final is held at each school, where groups representing each class deliver presentations about their projects. The class considered to have engaged the best with the programme secures a First Give grant of £1,000 for their chosen charity. By the end of the programme, however, the whole year group will have given back meaningfully to their local community.

Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of the First Give programme in up 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, plus providing guidance and troubleshooting for the lead teachers at First Give partner schools.

The role will be hybrid, with 3 days a week in our main offices in West Hampstead, London. Regular travel to schools across London and the South East will be required.

• Contract: Full time, permanent
• Salary: £28,000 (inclusive of London weighting)
• Location: London office 3 days per week, 2 days per week working from home
• Reporting to: Programme Manager

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:
  • an introductory Programme Call with the Lead teacher;
  • delivering a briefing to class teachers;
  • troubleshooting via phone and email;
  • booking in First Give facilitated sessions
• Ensure all programmes are delivering all core elements of the First Give programme
• Update and monitor Salesforce to track programme delivery
• Liaise with freelance facilitators to ensure events at schools are effectively staffed
• Deliver Launch Assemblies, Workshops and First Give Finals in partner schools
• Collect data for monitoring (student surveys, teacher surveys, identifying potential stories of impact, writing programme reports)
• Ensure prompt delivery of any programme resources required by schools (including Coursebooks and other physical resources)
• Support in the collection and distribution of comms via social media, newsletters and other formats to raise awareness of First Give’s work
• Support with wider team projects as and when is necessary

What we do

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, SE16.  Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects.

T&T has grown substantially over the last 5 years, and we are in an exciting time for the charity. We are reviewing our long-term aims and changing local needs to ensure  programme delivery continues our extensive track record of positive outcomes. Essex & Herts Air Ambulance has an exciting opportunity for an Aviation Director to join the Executive Team and to be responsible for all aspects of aviation and other, non-clinical, operational activities.  Also, as part of EHAAT’s strategic plan to gain its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in late 2025, the Aviation Director will form and lead the new AOC team supported by our experienced AOC transition Programme Manager.  As the AOC Accountable Manager, they will be responsible for all aspects of the safe, compliant and effective operation of our 2 AW169 helicopters in their life-saving role.

ABOUT US

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. This free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and rapid response vehicles.

Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.

They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only in the hospital emergency department.

Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed to the most appropriate hospital by air or land.

Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives…we can’t fly without you!

About You:

Having previously worked within a direct marketing team within the charity sector, you’ll have experience project managing campaigns with external agencies and internal stakeholders utilising a variety of fundraising channels such as digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. 

You’ll also have gained experience using Dynamics 365, Raisers Edge or a similar database. 

About The Role

• Lead on the planning and implementation of legacy and in mem fundraising portfolio, managing marketing campaigns from initial brief through to post campaign analysis. 
• Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with in mem supporters and legacy prospects in local communities, with the support of community fundraising managers and local volunteers – keeping these supporters at the heart of your work to to maintain and increase their support through excellent stewardship. 
• Prepare and administer correspondence and relevant paperwork and ensure maintenance for full and accurate database (D365/First Class) records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve engagement and customer service performance.
• Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends. 
• Effectively plan and execute legacy events around the country, with the aim of motivating supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will.

Having worked in a third sector direct marketing role previously, you will have experience running effective national and regional campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. With your good organisational and time management skills you’ll be able to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities under pressure. 

You will have knowledge of usability testing, user research methods and conversion rate optimisation as well as an understanding of fundraising regulator guidance, gambling commission compliance and GDPR.

• Manage the delivery of all Retention campaigns from concept through to evaluation, using data and insight to drive creative and production, drawing up schedules, and managing the approval processes
• Work collaboratively with data teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of Retention campaigns
• Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and relevant performance reviews
• Responsibility for collation of all KPI tracking, trend analysis and activity results that feed into the team’s reporting and performance structure 
• Work alongside the Content team to research and develop strong cases for support to appeal to existing donors. To gather information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters

Who we are:

The Dalit Solidarity Network UK is a small human rights organisation working to eliminate caste-based discrimination in the UK and South Asia. Registering as an official charity in 2003, Dalit Solidarity Network UK continues to grow as an effective campaigning and advocacy organisation, working on the issue of caste discrimination in the UK and being an active player in the global movement.  Our major areas of work include documenting 'everyday casteism', building capacity of businesses to address caste-discrimination in overseas supply chains and UK operations and working with UK Higher Education Institutions to protect against caste-discrimination.

Summary of the role:

We are seeking a new Director who will be responsible for working with the Board to:

i) Develop and deliver of DSN-UK's overall strategy and objectives;

ii) Provide strategic leadership to influence the policy and practice of key stakeholders to further DSN’s vision of a ‘world without caste discrimination’;

iii) Lead overall management of DSN-UK, including management of DSN-UK staff, its finances and other resources.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Leadership and strategy

Responsible for implementing DSN-UK’s strategy through specific campaign, lobbying and advocacy activities, including development of key messages and influencing strategies. 

Maintaining partnerships and network support within the UK, with partners in South Asia and international partners.

Conducting joint advocacy at UK/EU/UN level, representing these issues at UK Government level and participating in  other joint initiatives as appropriate.

Operational Management

Responsible for the day-to-day management of DSN-UK, including key  aspects of its internal administration, particularly providing oversight of financial management, annual budgets and the preparation of regular financial and programme reports for the Board.

Fundraising:

Leading the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy for DSN-UK, preparing funding proposals and reporting to donors on project achievements.

Human Resources:

Managing one part time office administrator and appointing other staff, volunteers and consultants in consultation with the Chair.

What we are looking for in a Director:

1. A track record of successfully working at a senior level with strategic leadership and management responsibilities.

2. Ability to develop organisational strategies and translate them into plans and budgets.

3. Experience of working on issues of social justice/human rights/equality, diversity and inclusion and of campaigning for change.

4. Experience of representing an organisation to others, ranging from grass roots activists to government officials including high-level lobbying and advocacy and public speaking.

5. Experience of developing and managing budgets.

8. Ability to plan and prioritise and keep to targets under pressure and to deadlines.

What the job involves 

We’re looking for an Income Processing Executive to join our Data Import Team. This role who will be vital in ensuring our regular giving income continues to grow and help to fund our research to stop prostate cancer killing men.

You’ll be responsible for the day to day running and upkeep of our regular giving customers’ details in our CRM, and for the preparation and submission of weekly payment files to our payment partner. This requires handling data effectively, promptly and above all accurately in line with our business priorities while ensuring best practice and compliance.  

You’ll proactively engage regularly with other teams ensuring that our supporters are given an excellent service, that meets the business objectives of Prostate Cancer UK. 

This role will take responsibility for checking that incoming data matches uploaded data, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and adjust gift data in our CRM, Raiser’s Edge, when required.
