We’re making it easier for people who use our services to find and connect to the support they need. And we're looking at ways to make our support more accessible and personalised to meet people’s individual needs, no matter where they are on their MS journey. 

We’re creating services that are flexible so that, when someone's circumstance changes, we’ll change too. As demand for our services grows, we’ll always be ready to support everyone who needs our help.  

Our new structure and our new ways of working will bring all of these services together under one delivery model launching next year. We're creating a new virtual support hub to bring together everything our community needs to manage their MS or support and care for someone living with MS.

Our Head of National Services is a key leadership role in our Services and Support directorate, as part of our Services Delivery function.

Our National Services delivery team includes our ‘’National Hub’’ (or Helpline) as well as our Specialist/Peer/Self Management Services.

Our Head of National Services will be:

• leading on the delivery and continuous improvement of our National services, developing a high-performing and motivated culture within teams. 
• providing clear leadership to ensure our National services are high quality, impactful and respond directly to the needs of the MS community 
• responsible for the growth in the reach of our National Services, ensuring that we increasingly represent the diversity of the entire MS community and that decisions are driven by local need. 

We’re looking for: 

• extensive experience of leading successful national services of a similar type and scale as those at the MS Society, including helplines, remote and digital services.
• a proven track record of operating at a senior level within a service delivery function or organisation, engaging significant numbers of the community. 
• substantial experience of successfully leading and managing a large and geographically dispersed team of staff and volunteers, embedding change and fostering a high performing culture. 
• substantial experience of working in a senior leadership team determining strategic direction, financial planning and monitoring and ensuring successful delivery.

• ensuring our Services and Support are delivered to a consistently high standard and be accountable for the performance of our services in our Live Well activity.
• using evidence and insights, development and delivery of a UK-wide Service Delivery and Development strategy that ensures our services achieve maximum reach and impact, responding to the evolving needs and priorities of people with MS, and their families and carers.
• leading ongoing development and continuous improvement of MS Society’s service delivery operating model, responding to evolving needs and external environment to drive cultural change and inspiring staff and volunteers.
• leading by example, encouraging and role modelling transparency, learning from failure, reducing complexity, user centricity, collaborating, and seeking feedback and ideas from all

We’re looking for:

• substantial experience in Senior Leadership/Departmental Management roles, with the ability to manage large teams at all levels.
• proven success in setting and delivering strategic plans and achieving long standing impact.
• able to provide sector-leading thought-leadership and strategic expertise within Service Delivery of similar type services and scale.

Head of Programmes
United Way UK
Home-based with frequent national and international travel and overnight stays around 2-3 times a month. The ideal candidate will be based close to good transport links and able to get to London easily, with access to a car and/or a full clean driving licence

The Head of Programmes leads UWUK's talented delivery team and works closely with the CEO on relationship development and strategic planning. As part of a small team (UWUK is currently five staff members), the Head of Programmes will be a strong team player and problem solver, with initiative, reliability and high emotional intelligence.

Key responsibilities

* Programme design, delivery and growth: You ensure the successful delivery of programmes, monitor and report on impact, oversee the budget and ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection and charity regulations. You will support the growth of programmes by creating, developing and writing proposals, and travel throughout the UK to support project delivery.
* Partnership development: You will scope, develop and secure partnerships across sectors, building and maintaining strong relationships with funders, partners, schools and charities across the UK and support the organisation of fundraising events, campaigns and other fundraising activities.
* Line management: You will line manage the programmes team (x 2 posts), supporting professional development, conducting performance reviews, and promoting strong team moral and wellbeing.
* Operations and strategy: You will support reporting to United Way UK Board of Trustees, United Way Worldwide and UK regulators, as well as work closely with the CEO on strategic planning and implementation.

What we're looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:
* Experience in programme management, stakeholder engagement and partnership building, with strong relationship skills combined and a natural ability to cultivate positive relationships with internal stakeholders, charity partners, prospects, funders, corporates, volunteers and internal partners
* Strong project management skills with ability to manage diverse tasks and priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience of monitoring and evaluation to collect feedback from stakeholders and continually improve and learn from programmes and report to funders.
* Solid communication skills, in both written and oral English, with the ability to present to stakeholders and write compelling project proposals.
* Experience working in the charity sector or within corporate social responsibility.
* Experience managing staff, including supporting professional development, conducting performance reviews, and promoting strong team moral and wellbeing.
* Experience in volunteering, either working with, or leading volunteer programmes, or being a volunteer.
* Experience either leading or supporting proposal writing for programme delivery.
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
* Full driving license.

As UWUK is a small organisation, the ideal successful candidate may also have fundraising experience although this is not essential.

The UWUK team are passionate about their mission and delivering results and have a caring, trusting, collaborative and close-knit culture, based on shared values and respect. This role is home-based, but you will be able to travel regularly across the UK, at least 2-3 times a month and be willing and able to easily attend meetings in London on a regular basis. Travel is covered but you will need to be able to be based with easy access to a major transport hub.

Interim Director of Finance & Resources – FTC until 31 December 2026 (with possibility for extension/ permanent)

The Director of Finance & Resources role is a pivotal position at Leukaemia UK. You will be part of the Senior Management Team reporting to the Chief Executive, working closely with them and fellow Directors to drive the charity’s long-term business strategy and organisational culture. You will oversee the day to day Financial, HR, IT, and Facilities Management operations, and work closely with the CEO on charity governance.

Leukaemia UK – Our Charity

We are a ‘small but mighty’ charity with one big ambition: to stop leukaemia devastating lives. Over the next 10 years we want to help save and improve the lives of more people with leukaemia through finding and funding life-changing research, awareness and advocacy.

Despite progress in recent decades, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer every 16 minutes and survival rates are among some of the worst of any cancer.  And the physical and psychological impact can be lifelong.

The Director of Finance and Resources is key to our strategy and to leading the charity to the next level as part of the Senior Leadership Team. We are looking for an experienced Director to help us lead the transition from one strategy to the next in 2026 by leading our financial planning and reporting, together with our people first culture. The role of Director of Finance and Resources is central to almost every area of our work. You will be responsible for:

· effective financial management,

· people and organisational design and culture,

· governance and legal,

· IT and premises.

This role is an exciting opportunity to support Leukaemia UK to make a huge impact on the lives of people diagnosed with leukaemia and other blood cancers over the coming years, by working as part of a professional, highly motivated Senior Leadership Team that works hard to achieve our goals and bring our values to life in every aspect of our work.

Essential

• Qualified accountant.
• Successful track record in leading a finance function, ideally in a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
• Previous experience in managing external audit, risk management, payroll, pension, and procurement functions.

Purpose of the Role

Faith underpins all our work and, in this key role the post holder will support the Christian journey by providing resources for personal prayer, spiritual guidance, corporate worship, religious education, and contribute to and participate in member and central charity led events and worship.

This role will explore and research issues about the Christian faith that are relevant to Mothers’ Union, keep the rest of the Charity up to date on issues in the Anglican communion and wider church – and input into the design of MU strategic aims, and work collaboratively with organisations externally on developing resources and implementing faith-based initiatives.

This role will also be responsible for managing Mothers’ Union’s Church-based membership and our Faith and Diocesan Chaplains member-based forums.

However, the focus for this role will be the proactive outreach, development, and maintenance of faith related relationships primarily in Britain and Ireland. This includes creating and managing high-level networks of Christian influencers, Bishops and the wider clergy, and key faith-based organisations to improve the profile, understanding and integration of Mothers' Union within the Anglican communion and ecumenically and to grow our reach, membership numbers, and influence.

A key remit of the Faith & Church Engagement Manager post will be to participate and contribute to our faith-based discussions and resources within Mothers’ Union. For this reason, the post holder must be a practicing Christian. (Occupational requirement Equality Act 2010).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Faith management and resources

1. To lead on the development of faith resources within Mothers’ Union (MU) and lead the strategic planning of all faith initiatives, theological rationales for Mothers’ Union specific initiatives and the overall mission.

2. To ensure that MU employees understand as part of the induction process and throughout their employment, how faith guides the work and relationships of MU.

3. Working with the Director of Membership, contribute to the strategic plan for all faith initiatives and clergy and church relations within Mothers’ Union.

4. To lead MU’s faith-based forums, to work where needed with the Worldwide Board and our Central Chaplain.

5. To facilitate theological underpinning to inform our work by exploring, researching, and gathering relevant data from various sources to keep abreast of new developments and initiatives.

6. To generate faith and church-based content for our website, magazine and newsletters and deliver MU’s prayer diary and oversea Midday Prayers.

7. To work with Mothers’ Union Enterprises on resources and products that have a faith dimension or spiritual content.

8. To work with our Worldwide President or designated member of the Worldwide Board to deliver faith and worship materials for Board and Worldwide Council meetings.

9. To receive, monitor and review MU’s worldwide resources to encourage and develop the contribution these make to the distinctive faith work of Mothers’ Union.

10. To maintain and develop all Faith Resources, identifying and developing new and uniquely MU resources to be added and archiving when required dated resources.

Membership Support – Britain and Ireland

1. To produce creative and accessible prayer and worship resources for use within our membership and more widely.

2. To identify the needs of members at every level for up-to-date information and resources on theology, faith, spirituality, worship/liturgy, Christian ethics and pastoral issues for group or individual use, and to commission a range of resources to meet those needs.

3. To build and manage external partnerships, within the Church and with other faith centred organisations, developing and promoting our work with these organisations.

4. Working closely with the Director of Membership and wider Membership team, to plan and lead faith aspects at conferences and meetings as requested.

5. To help design and implement projects and campaigns that provide an active engagement for our members, raise the public profile of Mothers’ Union, contribute to membership growth strategies and further the mission to promote the Christian faith and the wellbeing of families.

6. Work with the wider membership team on the design, implementation, and delivery of new membership growth models and manage existing membership models including Church-based Membership.

General

1. To produce and provide reports and resources as required for the Chief Executive and Board.
2. To promote the Christian faith and prioritise the wellbeing of families with members, the clergy, external partners, wider faith organisations, and the Anglican church.
3. To further the promotion and integration of Mothers’ Union work with the clergy and within the Anglican Church and facilitate policy and advocacy support for MU campaigns.
4. To undertake any other duties as requested by the Director of Membership.

Work Location

This role will be based at our Head Office in Central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (Pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in Central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays.
