The organisation is expanding with operations in both Canada and Australia. An exciting opportunity exists for a Client Relationship Manager to join the team. As Client Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing and maintaining relationships with charities, volunteers, and other stakeholders to ensure continued support for the charity’s mission and programmes. The role will also involve donor data management, marketing and communications and outreach where applicable. This is a client facing role requiring strong relationships management skills as well as operational skills.
Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in client relationship management. You will have a proven track record of successfully building and maintaining relationships with clients, donors and stakeholders and achieving fundraising goals. You will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to articulate the organisation’s mission and impact effectively. You will have a clear understanding of fundraising and marketing and have good knowledge of CRM software e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge for donor management and reporting. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders is also essential for this role. You will be highly organised with a proactive personality and be able to demonstrate a passion for the work of the charity.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships team, using your skills and experience to grow the corporate partnerships programme and secure support from new corporate supporters.
As the Corporate Partnerships Senior Officer, you will lead on securing new six figure multi-year corporate partnerships. You will develop partnership proposals and deliver compelling pitches to secure the support of new corporate partners. You will manage aportfolio of corporate partnerships, providing excellent stewardship, identifying innovative ways to maintain and grow the support received annually.
You will work closely with colleagues to maximise long-term income opportunities to support Sustrans strategic priorities.

About you
You should have proven experience of securing six figure income from new corporate partners as well as delivering outstanding partnership stewardship to grow the portfolio of corporate partners.
We also ask that you are experienced in working autonomously to achieve fundraising targets, managing a dynamic pipeline of new business opportunities and writing and pitching persuasive partnerships proposals
You will be skilled in prospect researching, utilising your own networks to engage new corporate partners along with excellent written and communications skills, and IT skills including CRM systems

Overall purpose
Provide strategic financial leadership for Baca and be accountable for the provision of financial and performance information to enable the Leadership Team and the Board to ensure Baca is financially sustainable for the purpose of achieving its vision and mission.
Core skill will be as a qualified accountant but you will demonstrate a range of experience leading teams and delivering a range of projects across the organisation using a joint working approach. As a member of the Leadership Team, you will work alongside other senior leaders to shape the strategic direction of the charity and ensure that its aims and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Resource Planning, Budgeting and Reporting
- To direct Baca annual budget setting and longer term strategic financial planning, with robust analysis of income, expenditure, forecasts and cashflow.
- To deliver high quality financial reporting, providing advice and support, in writing and verbally, as required for the Leadership Team, the Finance and Fundraising sub-group and the Board of Trustees.
- To ensure budget holders receive up to date timely and accurate management accounts and information in order to maintain day to day control of the expenditure budget.
- Encouraging innovation and seeking best practice from inside and outside the sector.
- Identifying and responding to long-term strategic risks, challenges and opportunities to enable Baca achieving its Strategic Goals.
- Continually enhance the processes and procedures in place for resource allocation and monitoring at all levels of the charity
- Provide proactive assessment of opportunities to deliver efficiencies in collaboration with departments where necessary.
Leadership and Organisational Responsibilities
- As a member of the Leadership Team (LT), be a role model in practicing Baca’s values in order to achieve our Vision and Mission, prioritising the outcomes of the young people in all activities of the role.
- Together with the CEO, ensure all members of work with the Finance and Fundraising sub-group are regularly informed of all key strategic activity by leading the executive input and support to the Finance and Fundraising sub-group.
- Support the CEO to undertake negotiations with other organisations where necessary on matters of securing of resources.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with internal policy and procedures alongside external requirements of Charity Commission and Companies House.
- Undertake and deliver in the role as Company Secretary
- Steward Baca’s resources to effectively, economically and efficiently to achieve our Vision and Mission in line with our Values.
- Communicate effectively, internally and externally, ensuring accurate and efficient flow of information across the organisation ensuring finance plans are understood and supported by all involved with the organisation.

- Work at all times within the policies and procedures of Baca
- Respect at all times the confidentiality of information covering young people, staff and volunteers.

Financial Systems, Control and Accounting
- Oversee the integrity of all financial systems: Develop, monitor and manage the organisation’s financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls and the development of a consistent approach across Baca.
- To lead the preparation of the organisation’s accounts for audit in accordance with current accounting good practice and Charity Commission’s Standards of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising with the auditors and present the final accounts to the Finance and Fundraising sub-group and Board for approval.
- To be responsible for adhering to financial delegated authorities as agreed with the Chief Executive and Board.
- To implement, oversee and review Baca’s systems of financial risk management and controls assurance.
- To ensure the purchasing system operates effectively, ensuring sufficient supplies and services by working closely with the Operations Director.
- To lead the payroll provision and ensure that salary and related payments are made accurately and timely.
- To ensure that an appropriate register of assets are maintained accurately.
- To ensure that Baca has adequate cash holdings and cash is moved to interest bearing accounts as appropriate in line with Baca’s ethical asset management policy.
Team and People Management:
- Create, lead, manage, inspire and develop the finance team promoting Baca’s values by being visible, participative and encouraging cross team working
- Effectively manage the performance of the team, ensuring they are working to agreed objectives, delivering outcomes and that they receive appropriate training and support.
- Support theteam in day to day troubleshooting and administration where necessary.
- Develop and deliver integrated annual strategic objectives for all direct reports and their teams
- To keep abreast of legislation affecting financial accounting, that may be relevant to Baca, and to keep the Chief Executive fully aware of any relevant changes in the law.

GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.
This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. It will involve working with the leadership team and all departments but also the board and their support committees, the ambassadors, and presidents as well as the wonderful team of volunteers across England and Wales.
A great deal has been done to prepare the organisation for such an important time and so now there is a real opportunity for this role to lead in being a figurehead for the charity and representing all that is achieved at GFS in national events and discussions, to best represent the girls of today.
Our new strategy is built around pillars of Impact, Brand and Sustainability with an ambition to grow in delivery as well as reputation. GFS is aware that the work done to listen to and amplify girls’ voices is important because they have so much to say about what needs to change and from a very young age. We're the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways across England and Wales, because we believe that life is better by water. Every role across the Trust plays its part in transforming our canals and rivers into spaces where local people want to spend time and feel better, bringing wellbeing benefits to millions.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to join our Environment and Climate action team within the S&I Directorate and is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategy and policy on all environment and climate related sustainability issues, including environmental compliance as a minimum, improvement of our protected sites and achieving a net gain in biodiversity across our canal network.
The Ecologist will be responsible for providing professional technical input into the Trust’s strategic activities around nature recovery. This includes collecting and analysing information and data to support a long-term action plan to move more of our protected sites towards favourable condition and support projects that increase biodiversity and the abundance of protected species across the network.
The Canal & River Trust is in an ideal position, as a large landowner with blue and green corridors connecting habitats across the landscape, to carry out environmental enhancements using our local volunteer workforce to ensure that we improve habitats and support biodiversity. Planting the right trees in the right places, reconnecting old hedgerows and restoring or creating wildflower meadows and linear species-rich grasslands to provide a safe haven for wildlife and a destination for people to retreat to from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Reconnecting people with the nature on their doorstep and offering them opportunities to get involved in looking after ‘their patch’ through guided walks and talks.
Our aim is to support the work of the Trust as a whole, while conserving and enhancing the environment of the inland waterway network. Finding simple and innovative solutions/methods of work to ensure that the modern-day use of the waterways, their historical importance, the Trust’s legal obligations and strategic priorities are met through sustainable development, conservation and enhancement of the natural environment.
Location
The role will be based working from home, with the expectation to attend main regional hubs either at Milton Keynes, Birmingham, or Little Venice (Paddington), for collaborative working. This is a national role, requiring collaboration with teams in all six of the Trust’s regions. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be able travel to attend meetings or fieldwork throughout the regional waterway network.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
Key accountabilities:
- Provide ecological technical advice as requested. This includes input into Trust EMS standards and tools and nature recovery projects.
- Contribute to the Trust’s Nature Recovery Strategy and associated sustainability initiatives, with a view to increasing biodiversity across the Trust’s network
- Contribute to national programmes of engagement with customers, volunteers, stakeholders and the general public to promote the value of waterways and the work of the Trust to increase the Trust’s reputation and influence and secure additional resources for our work, focusing on our key sustainability priorities.
- Work with regional ecology teams to implement relevant inspection/monitoring and maintenance programmes for environmental/soft estate assets within their geographical remit, (re-)prioritising work to suit available resources and within delegated authority levels.
- Contribute to the implementation of an environmental management system (EMS; including associated processes & standards) especially with responsibility for monitoring national uptake
- Collaboration with regional teams to maintain ecology and nature recovery performance data (e.g. GIS layers, ecological baseline and species location data)
- Assist in the development of environmental training & competency
- Contribute to corporate targets on raising public awareness of and support for the Trust especially through interest in our environmental assets.
- Contribute to external engagement and fundraising nationally to secure additional resources for the Trust, especially through interest in our environmental assets
- Displaying the Trust values and behaviours at all times
- Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life and promoting inclusion by challenging behaviour, practices, actions, or decisions that are counter to the objectives of the Trust’s policies and values
Knowledge, Skills & experience
- Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline.
- Associate member of relevant professional institution, e.g. CIEEM, CIWEM, CIWM, IEMA, etc
- Proven postgraduate experience in application of technical knowledge within a business environment.
- Able to negotiate effectively with internal and external contacts to achieve desired outcomes for the Trust.
- Able to support other areas of the Trust’s business in an appropriate manner, taking account of overall business priorities.
- Knowledge of, and practical experience of operating within, UK & European environmental policy and regulatory frameworks
- Experience of operating within a customer service environment
- Understanding of Trust governance, financial controls and systems of compliance
