FareShare UK runs three regional centres in Merseyside, East Anglia and Southern Central. As our Fundraising & Development Lead (Merseyside), you will grow a local fundraising programme from its infancy, working closely with both the Merseyside site and FareShare UK’s national fundraising team.
This brand new role has been created to sustain, and in time, increase the financial sustainability of our activity in Merseyside. Through your work, you will enable us to test the viability of this regionally-led approach, and put the frameworks in place to scale and replicate the approach as part of a wider business cased rollout.
You’ll initially report into FareShare UK’s Senior Network Fundraising Manager, but will work day-to-day from the Merseyside hub, fully embedded in the local community and local operations - this will involve working closely with the Regional Manager.
This role is advertised as a 24-month fixed-term contract, but there is potential to extend based on results. If extended, the role may move to be managed and embedded locally.
What you’ll be doing
This role is integral to shaping a long-term solution to our fundraising efforts locally. As Fundraising & Development Lead (Merseyside), your focus will be to:
- Build and deliver a fundraising strategy to generate locally fundraised income to bring our activity in Merseyside closer to breakeven in the short-term, as well as having an eye on long-term sustainability and growth.
- Develop a compelling case for support tailored to local funders, businesses and the Merseyside community.
- Build a diverse pipeline and income portfolio, using your knowledge and experience of fundraising within Merseyside to increase funding from across multiple income streams – this could include from trusts, local businesses, events, the local community and major donors.
- Create and manage supporter relationships, providing a positive experience and excellent stewardship, and through doing so, maximising on lifetime value.
- Work collaboratively with FareShare UK’s national fundraising team to ensure efforts complement rather than compete.
- Test and evaluate your work to build the evidence needed to support the scaling and replicating of this approach in other FareShare UK-owned sites.
- Fundraise safely, legally and compliantly in line with regulation and FareShare policies.
- Use existing tools and systems such as Salesforce to keep financial and partnership records up-to-date.
- Undertake training and skills development and adopt a continuous learning approach to your work, particularly in light of these being new roles.
This role is likely to involve meeting with funders, supporters and partners across the region – both on and off-site. The ability to travel when needed would be helpful, but there is flexibility in how this is managed and achieved.

- Experience of working on partnerships that deliver both financial and non-financial value and an understanding all the possible ways in which a company can support a charity’s work.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, and the ability to win hearts and minds, both internally and externally.
- Experience of using data to make informed decisions and spot new opportunities.
- An ability to manage multiple projects and strands of work simultaneously.
- The skills to influence and manage people, including volunteers - building strong internal relationships to deliver results.
- A collaborative mindset and comfortable working with cross-functional teams.

Purpose of the role
To deliver and develop the Day One Casework bedside model to patients, or those closest to them, impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences, such as disability or death, predominantly within Aintree Major Trauma Centre but also in other hospital settings or Trusts as required.
To have a visible physical presence within the Trust and become embedded into clinical teams focussing on the major trauma pathways.
To work closely with those impacted by catastrophic injury, taking referrals and carrying out initial assessments of need, expertly navigating, signposting and putting services in place in the immediate aftermath of major trauma, including talking about and facilitating early access to legal support to aid rehabilitation.
To establish and develop relationships with key stakeholders to promote Day One and address the needs of those affected by catastrophic injury.
To work as part of the wider Day One Service’s team and organisation, taking responsibility for own record keeping and data collection in line with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Work closely, and in partnership, with NHS clinical staff and relevant community and voluntary sector organisations, to address the needs of patients, and those closest to them, affected by catastrophic injury.

Operate a case management approach to individuals, assessing and identifying needs, putting support in place including signposting, making referrals and direct support.

Provide consistency in assessment of all patients, irrespective of injury cause, age, status, giving access to the earliest possible specialist legal advice which supports rehabilitation and NHS cost recovery.

Maintain detailed case records, including accurate records of activity and intervention, using Day One’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, capturing and storing data in line with Day One policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

Implement processes and procedures to collect patient and family feedback and contribute to ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Day One services through providing relevant information, case studies and reports.

Build awareness of the role and charity’s purpose through building strong and effective relationships across the regional major trauma network, ensuring those who need it have access to Day One support.

Work closely with local authority, statutory and voluntary organisations to provide patient and family support and advocacy.

Help establish other support mechanisms once a person is no longer within the hospital setting, supporting the patient discharge process in conjunction with leadership from NHS staff.

Identify and support the recruitment and supervision of Day One volunteers, where appropriate.

Support the roll out of our Peer Support Service, focussed on promoting awareness and uptake within the region.

Work closely with the wider team on performance, quality, safety and effectiveness of all services, ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies are followed.

Work closely with our Fundraising and Communications team, supporting national activity, as well as regional initiatives to raise awareness and fundraise.

Be prepared to travel across the region and, on occasion, to other sites and national meetings as required.

About the role
In order to reach and support more kinship carers with these programmes and our other services, we have developed a new Marketing Team to develop and deliver integrated, strategic and creative marketing and engagement campaigns and strategies. This team is now established with clear plans to engage kinship carer audiences, rooted in insights.
Strategic engagement with professionals from the education sector as a conduit to engage kinship carers in our services offer is a key part of this role, and a relatively new area of focus for Kinship. Delivering against a strategic plan already in place, you will be managing relationships and marketing approaches to Virtual Schools, select Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) and other education professionals through umbrella bodies and associations to execute this.
Who we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, senior-level marketeer or engagement professional with a strong track record in further developing and delivering successful multi-channel marketing strategies targeted at a range of audiences to join us as a Head of Marketing and Strategic Engagement to oversee this team. Experience in working in the education sector, or an engagement role would be advantageous.
We’re looking for someone excited to hit the ground running, able to plan strategically, deliver operationally and take creative approaches to maximising engagement and acquisition with a small in-house team. A strategic thinker and natural collaborator, you’ll be able to work across the organisation to further develop integrated marketing across Kinship’s services and programmes, and ensure these align with our wider external communications, including to our Kinship Community of more than 12,000 carers.
You will have significant experience in leading marketing teams and have demonstrable experience in delivering successful, engaging marketing and engagement strategies. You’ll be comfortable getting very involved in the operational delivery of our marketing and engagement plans, supporting your team and demonstrating an insight and audience-led approach to both digital and offline marketing, thriving in an environment where you’ll be responsible for overseeing the progress of various strands of marketing activity.
Key responsibilities include:

Using data and market insights, develop and oversee the implementation of high-quality, integrated and strategic marketing and engagement strategies to support Kinship’s awareness, understanding, interest, income generation, engagement and growth amongst key audiences, with a particular focus on marketing our programmes and services.

Working closely with the Awareness Programme Manager, Senior Volunteer Development Manager, and colleagues in our Community Services Engagement team, the senior Awareness Programme Officer will be responsible for the delivery of our awareness talk programme across the UK. This includes the recruitment, coordination, support and training of volunteers in line with Bowel Cancer UK's volunteering strategy and the awareness programme plans.

We are looking for a Food Enterprise Coordinator/ Lead- someone who will work collaboratively with existing partners and forge new relationships with local food businesses and enterprises to drive change in the food sector, embedding good food principles and practices throughout the supply chain and helping shape how people in Liverpool access food.

Main Purpose of the Job:

Develop initiatives, campaigns and strategies to promote good food businesses to the public.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a network of food businesses with the aim of establishing and embedding healthy and sustainable practices and values.

Be the food alliance’s main point of contact for Liverpool’s social, small and medium enterprises in the food sector.

Arrange and facilitate regular meetings to understand the challenges and priorities of the sector and how the food alliance can support them.

Work with existing partners to develop a Good Food Business Charter, and support other local food enterprises to become network members and adopt the principles set out in the charter.
Develop relationships with stakeholders within the food system to support the creation of shorter and more value based supply chains.

Alongside key stakeholders, develop a shared definition of what ‘local food’ is, taking into account the capacity of the local supply chain and the needs of procurers.

Work alongside local food system ‘actors’ to establish connections between procurers and the local supply chain, and identify barriers that require mitigation.

Support innovative ways to support local, value based supply chains taking effect.

Provide support for both established and newly developed local food access initiatives — including markets, food hubs, and community retail schemes — that enhance community access to healthy and sustainable food.

Job Summary
Supporting the Direct Marketing Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering growth in voluntary income through our direct marketing acquisition programme utilising a range of campaigns and products, both online and offline. Products include one-off donations, regular giving (including value-exchange/ sponsorship products) and lottery. You’ll also be responsible for the development, implementation, day to day management, evaluation, and delivery of our acquisition portfolio.
About You
- You will have experience of running effective national campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels
- Demonstrable, relevant experience including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities
- Knowledge of google analytics as well as an understanding of fundraising regulator guidance, gambling commission compliance and GDPR.
About the Role
- Manage the delivery of acquisition campaigns from concept through to evaluation, using data and insight to drive creative and production, drawing up schedules, and managing the approval processes.
- Work alongside the Content team to research and develop acquisition products, journeys and communications, gathering information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns.
- Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and monitor performance

the3million is the largest grassroots organisation for EU citizens* in the UK, formed after the 2016 referendum to protect the rights of people who have made the UK their home.
Our work ranges from organising EU citizens’ communities and informing people about their rights, to holding the Government to account on the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement and advocating for social justice.
We are now looking for a Research and Policy Manager to lead on evidence-based research and support in the analysis of government policy and legislation which impacts EU citizens in the UK.
We are looking for a creative problem solver who is detail orientated and approaches research through an investigative lens.
This work often intersects with the wider issues of social justice, migrant rights, race equality, and data rights.
You will work closely with the Head of Policy and Advocacy to direct strategic research initiatives, presenting recommendations to influence decision-makers and guide advocacy efforts, ensuring the3million’s campaigns are informed and led by robust evidence of EU citizens’ lived experience.
*the3million uses ‘EU citizens’ as shorthand for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens who were resident in the UK before 31 December 2020, and their family members (of any nationality) with derived rights.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Strategic research and issue analysis
You will lead on the3million’s research, working closely with the Head of Policy and Advocacy to ensure our work is shaped by lived experience, analysing issues experienced by EU citizens related to applying for immigration status, proving their rights and accessing services in the UK.
- Collect, analyse and categorise issues raised by EU citizens through the3million’s reporting channels, including highlighting correlations to equality characteristics such as race and ethnicity, age, gender etc (including our ReportIt! system, email, social media and listening campaigns).
- Interview EU citizens who report issues, sharing information about rights, signposting to relevant legal advice organisations.
- Identify trends in the challenges faced by EU citizens, documenting these in detail, analysing systemic issues.
- Provide strategic guidance on how research findings can inform the3million’s advocacy, campaigns and communications activities.
2. Policy development and advocacy
- Contribute to the production of high-quality policy briefings, reports and strategic recommendations that are clear, actionable and directly relevant to stakeholders including the Government.
- Support in the research and analysis of government policy developments, legislative changes and public consultations affecting EU citizens in the UK, specifically on areas related to immigration and welfare, assessing their potential impact.
3. Report writing and presentation
- Lead on the development of in-depth reports and support in the production of policy papers and position statements, presenting complex data into clear and accessible documents.
- Present research findings and policy recommendations at meetings and events, effectively communicating complex issues to audiences.
- Contribute to the production of advocacy materials, including media briefings, campaigns’ resources and informational content for the3million’s website, social media channels and for event distribution.
4. Stakeholder engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including civil society organisations and other advocacy groups.
- Collaborate with other team members within the organisation to ensure research and policy recommendations are effectively integrated into the3million’s community organising activities, campaigns and strategic communications.
5. Monitoring and evaluation
- Report on the progress and outcomes of research and policy activities regularly, within the organisation and to the3million’s funders.
6. General responsibilities
- Represent the views of the3million in the media, when appropriate.

Person specification
Knowledge and experience:
- Experience (2+ years) working within research or investigative settings
