Hand in Hand International is based in Baker Street, central London, and we have a team of 27 employees. We have a flexible, hybrid, working policy that includes work-from-home Mondays and Fridays. Our team works with partners throughout the global Hand in Hand network, specialising in fundraising, strategic and programmes advice, and donor relations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the HR Manager – a new post - will be the principal HR point of contact and lead on the full breadth of day-to-day HR matters. They will make a pivotal key contribution to our aim to be an employer of choice, and overall to be an inclusive and positive place to work. Key responsibilities include:
Employee relations – Ensure that all of our employment documents such as contracts, policies, procedures, staff briefings and our staff handbook are kept up to date, reflect best practice and UK employment law, and that they are being applied across the organisation. Providing as appropriate, related information and support to managers and employees.
Line manager support – Develop, and maintain, a handbook for line managers, supplemented with periodic guidance; review and meet learning and development needs to ensure line managers are well-supported and able to perform their roles effectively.
HR systems and processes – Manage the collection and recording of relevant information across a breadth of employment matters including attendance, recruitment processes, equality and diversity, performance management etc. Undertake research and analysis and support the Director of Finance in the preparation of their reports on employment matters.
Recruitment – Develop and support Hand in Hand’s recruitment, executing onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring these align with our aims and maximise our potential to recruit and retain a great team.
Change management - Support the implementation of a digital HR platform as part of a wider organisational systems upgrade project, led by the Digital Systems Manager, together with any future change projects that will enhance our HR services and the support we are able to provide to our managers and employees.
Pay and benefits – Carry out periodic benchmarks and reviews of employee pay and benefits, focussing on the sector we operate in.
Staff surveys – Carry out our annual staff survey, together with any additional temperature checks as required, presenting the findings and recommendations to the senior management team. Manage the implementation of any agreed changes and improvements to our employment arrangements following the surveys.
Projects and general support – Undertake HR projects as required and provide HR support to employees and line managers in the event of any queries as they arise. Additionally, take a proactive approach in providing guidance and suggestions for improvements, simplification and change as and when appropriate.
Skills and knowledge
· CIPD qualification level 5, or above
· A full understanding of UK employment law, HR functions and best practices
· Experience supporting small organisations (<50 employees) with establishing, and implementing, policies and procedures
· Able to prioritise with excellent time management
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Good analytical skills, with the ability to draw out useful information to inform reports and actions
· Excellent attention to detail
· Approachable, empathetic and able to deal with any employee issues calmly and swiftly

About The Role

About You
You will need experience of working with people facing exclusion and disadvantage and in a multi-disciplinary context with partners, community groups and other agencies. A good understanding of housing law is essential, while experience of debt advice, support services and delivery of advice in a community setting would be useful.
The communication skills it takes to line manage others and promote effective working relationships, with external agencies, people with lived experience and internally across Shelter, are key. You must be proficient in the use of a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including case management systems, Microsoft applications, internet and email.

What the job involves
We’re an ambitious charity with a bold mission and a fantastic culture. As we embark on an exciting 3-year fundraising strategy, we’re looking for a Senior Direct Marketing Executive to join our Individual Giving Team here at Prostate Cancer UK. This is a newly created role within the team which will oversee acquisition and new product development.
You’ll be part of an exciting time at the charity, joining us as we roll out our new Fundraising strategy and continue investment in Acquisition. In this role you’ll take ownership of planning, implementing and reporting on fully integrated acquisition campaigns across a range of channels including DRTV, Digital, Telephone, SMS and OOH.
You’ll work closely with teams from across the organisation and our media agency to ensure a truly integrated, collaborative approach. Together with the team, you’ll identify opportunities, apply learnings from past campaigns, and enhance future performance.
You’ll also be integral to driving forward new product development to acquire new regular givers. Leading on testing across the Acquisition team, you’ll innovate to drive the lowest attrition, best ROI and strongest lifetime value. You’ll collaborate with colleagues from across the organisation to drive the best creative, messaging, targeting and data insights.
What we want from you
Aside from excellent knowledge and experience of working in a direct marketing environment managing fully integrated campaigns, you’ll also have strong digital campaign management experience, ideally gained from a fundraising environment. You’ll have experience in developing and implementing effective testing strategies and ideally also have experience in developing new marketing or fundraising products.
You’ll possess first class communication skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with and influencing key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage expenditure budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance.

Our client is an award-winning charity, supporting and empowering women with convictions and care leavers into sustainable employment. They are now recruiting for a Support Service Manager (initially on a 6 month fixed term contract), to oversee a small team of Employability Coaches providing person-centred support to a caseload of women, helping to get them ‘work ready’.
As Support Service Manager you will oversee a small team of 4 and will support your team in building trusting relationships with the women in their caseload, helping to equip service users with the skills, tools and mindsets in order to secure and sustain employment. You will hold a small caseload of around 5-10 women and will ensure that new cases are allocated, and caseload volumes are managed in a way that mitigates the need for a waiting list, while being within colleague’s capacity. You will manage case reviews with team members on an as-needed basis and will act as Designated Safeguarding Lead to promote a safeguarding culture, providing advice and guidance on occasional safeguarding matters, supported by two Designated Safeguarding Officers.
To apply for this role, you will have demonstrable experience of managing or working within a trauma-informed support service for women with complex needs (doesn’t necessarily have to be employment support related). You will have experience of managing and supporting staff and will have a good understanding of the criminal justice system and an awareness of the needs of women with convictions in particular. Grace House is a 6 bedroomed property, offering safe and secure accommodation for women leaving prison, who would otherwise be homeless. We will be offering life skills training to all residents and ongoing support.

CHRISTIAN HOUSE MANAGER
You will have experience in leading a team to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment.
You will be highly motivated and passionate about the rehabilitation of women leaving prison.
You will be committed to supporting vulnerable women, enabling them to build on their existing strengths to make positive changes in their lives.
You will have overall responsibility for the continuous improvement and consistency of the day-to-day delivery of the project and be responsible for financial planning and have budgetary responsibilities.
You will help to ensure that Grace House becomes a centre of excellence and help set a positive example of the rehabilitation of prison leavers
You will maintain and further the excellent reputation we currently have with our referral prisons to ensure a constant flow of residents, reducing the likelihood of voids.
You will liaise with venue staff where our #SheMatters community courses are run, overseeing a timetable of courses and ensure that all course provision meets the high standards set by ID Grace House UK.
You will have personal experience of running courses with vulnerable and sometimes chaotic women. The Course Facilitators make up part of the Grace House Team.
You will be responsible for and have experience of fundraising and be willing to work alongside the Imago Dei staff team to ensure the project is financially stable long term.
You will be willing to undertake on call duties out-of-hours.
KEY TASKS AND DUTIES:
• Ability to motivate, coach and manage the performance of the Grace House Team. To coach the Team on continuous personal development (CPD) and to undertake any qualifications relevant to their role;
• Ensure robust plans are created in partnership with residents, to support their progression and ensuring their voices are heard;
• Work with the residents of Grace House to help them address habits/choices made which brought them to offend: to assist them in regaining self-esteem, well-being and independence;
• Support the women in every aspect of adjusting to life out of prison, giving both practical and emotional help, and support women as they seek work and permanent housing;
• Lead by example to champion Grace House values, be respectful and compassionate. Manage any behaviour actioned by the Team that does not reflect the values of Grace House and train on the same.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
- Experience of supporting vulnerable women with mental health, substance misuse, domestic violence, challenging behaviours, offending behaviour
- Have CTC Prison Clearance or be willing to complete the vetting and checks for this
- A practicing Christian*
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience of working in the challenging environment of a prison setting or similar
- Experience of facilitating courses with women presenting challenging behaviours.
Desirable
- Experience with supporting prison leavers.

About GMYF
GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester to support their aspirations and create opportunities. We deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people within our stand-alone Centres as well as providing support to affiliated clubs.
GMYF opened our first youth centre in Partington in September 2022 and a second youth centre in Charlestown in July 2024. These Centres provide an ambitious and enriching curriculum for young people with a wide range of activities. We also jointly own an Outdoors Activities Centre in Cumbria – Ormside Mill. GMYF took on a management function for Norbrook Youth Centre in Wythenshaw from 1st May 2025, a previous affiliate member.

Youth Worker Summary
We have two roles available, a full time youth worker role and a part time youth worker role 17.5 hours per week.
The role of a GMYF youth worker is to be young person centred, providing a nurturing, safe and supporting environment for young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with them. You will be based at Norbrook Youth Centre working with 9-16 year olds, mainly in the 4pm – 8pm period. You will support the Youth Activities Lead in planning and delivering a full programme centre-based activities, as well as supporting our outdoor adventure team with outdoor activities and residentials.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Key areas of focus will include:
· Supporting young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with and recognizing their different needs and starting points. Have strong commitment to the values of acceptance and respect within youth work and being a positive role model. Encourage young people to take an active role in social action projects, youth voice and young leader activities
· Assist the Youth Activities Lead, working together with the team in planning and delivery of full program offer, including evening youth club sessions and off site educational visits, including to our outdoor centre in Cumbria with occasional over night stays . Assist in the development and introduction of additional activities such as twilight sessions, youth voice, targeted group work and mentoring
· Identify formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of the young people and help to plan a positive interventions and innovations which enhances the knowledge, awareness and personal development of young people
· Articulate and record young people’s progression in sessional and project recording documentation and provide information for management and funding reports.
· Attend occasional weekend residentials and events at the GMYF’s outdoor pursuits centre and encourage young people to get involved. Support the planning and delivery of off-site trips/activities at local venues
· Comply with all policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety and equality and diversity. Be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of young people is promoted and prioritized. Report any concerns and participate in regular safeguarding training
· Represent GMYF at events and meeting with partner agencies. Ensure conduct is professional and represents the charity in a positive manner to internal and external visitors, working with a wide range of local partners and community organisations
· Commit to continuous professional development with own training, accessing available training including youth work specific courses
· Carry out all duties with the scope of the role as directed with due diligence and professionalism
About You
We are looking for candidates who believe in GMYF’s mission, values, and are experienced in working with young people. You will be able and confident in building positive relationships with young people, always taking a young person centred approach. You will have experience planning and delivering activities, bringing creative and innovative ideas to share for young people. You will have good team working and organisational skills, understanding of safeguarding, and willingness to undertake further training.

The National House Project (NHP) supports Local Authorities to work with young people to give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to live connected and fulfilling lives. By developing a community of support, completing the House Project Programme and being able to make their house a home young people can look forward to a positive future.
This is an exciting time to join NHP and we are seeking a skilled and experienced professional who can support our vision to ensure that young people leaving care live connected and fulfilling lives.
About the role
Whilst the House Project approach sets out a clear pathway for young people to move into a house that becomes their home, being in the House Project is so much more than an offer of accommodation.
Staff working in the projects are trained in relational and trauma informed approaches. They use a psychologically informed practice framework to work with young people in both groupwork and individual settings and this work is supported by social pedagogical approaches. Working with young people in a groupwork setting and offering individual direct support enables the development of relationships and shared experiences which allows young people to be involved in the running of their LHP and central to the decisions that are made about them.
NHP provides a framework and not a model and whilst LHPs must keep to the fidelity of the approach, local environments and the young people themselves will determine how projects proceed. This is where you will come in as a practice lead. With knowledge of child development, attachment styles, trauma informed care, the care system and the House Project approach you will support staff in LHPs to work in ways to develop practice that puts young people at the heart of the decision-making process and supports the local ‘system’ to improve how young people leave care.
As a Practice Lead you will have responsibility for a number of LHPs and will:
- Ensure that LHPs have young people at the heart of the decision-making process and that practice is evidence based and trauma informed
- Ensure that LHPs adhere to the fidelity of the approach whilst flexing to accommodate local arrangements
- Manage risk and deal with trauma at an individual, organisational and systemic level, turning these challenges into opportunities for change with improved outcomes for the young people.
- Work with the Care Leavers National Movement as well as the core team to ensure that young people continue to drive their own LHP and develop practice at both a local and national level
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for someone with a commitment to making a difference to the lives of young people through imaginative new models of social care and therapy and the scaling of the approach to make a difference to policy, practice and outcomes for young people at a national level.
You will have primary responsibility for supporting LHPs in The North.

The Role
With a strong focus on stewardship, you’ll manage a portfolio of supporters, create tailored engagement opportunities, and deliver compelling cases for support that inspire long-term giving. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure a joined-up, strategic approach to relationship fundraising. Your ability to communicate with clarity and warmth, alongside a deep understanding of what motivates Christian supporters, will be key to growing support and maximising impact.
About You
You will have proven experience of developing high-value relationships with donors (individuals) and a track record of success in soliciting major gifts in excess of £5k or transferable skills gained in a similar role with equally demanding relationship-based targets.
With knowledge of the principles of relationships fundraising to include identification, research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major and mid-level donors, you will have experience of working autonomously and effectively with people at senior or Board level.
You will have:
• Evidence of strong influencing and negotiating skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to make a cogent and compelling supporting case for each project
• The ability to develop excellent working relationships with staff, Trustees and volunteers; you will be diplomatic, persuasive and credible at a senior level
• The ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus and standards, and balancing time scales
• The ability to confidently present to and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
• An understanding of what drives and motivates potential and existing Christian supporters

Supported by strong internal resources, the Head of Public Fundraising will drive growth across Individual Giving, Legacy, In-Memoriam, Digital and Prize-led Giving in the context of a highly collaborative, whole-organisation approach to fundraising.
