About Evolve

Evolve is a Business Charity Awards nominated collaboration between three longstanding corporate partners, a corporate foundation and ELBA. With a focus on Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Haringey, we address the barriers and challenges faced by community organisations. We do this by developing organisational capacity, especially with leadership, for those who are tackling the complex needs presented by the cost-of-living crisis.

The project is currently in its fifth year with funding secured for the following year until December 2026 with the prospect of continued work thereafter.

About the role

The purpose of the role is to lead the successful delivery of ELBA’s Evolve Project, delivering employer-supported volunteering projects that meet the needs of the communities of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Haringey, and expectations of the corporate partners.

The role requires an ability to build close and collaborative relationships across the community sector, particularly with infrastructure organisations of the three boroughs, likewise the corporate partners. The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of innovative workshops and long term employee volunteering activities (including ELBA’s flagship coaching programmes) to build resilience in communities. The Project Manager will also lead monthly and quarterly steering group meetings, reporting on impact to the corporate partners.

The post is managed by the Head of Community Programmes, with strategic programme support from the Partnership Director.

Job Description

Key duties

· Lead day-to-day development, planning and delivery of Evolve workshops and programmes

· Identify and build relationships with a range of community stakeholders, including charities, community groups, Councils, funders, social enterprises and grassroots organisations to understand community needs

· Design and deliver impactful employee volunteering activities to address these needs, aligned with the skills, knowledge and expertise of the corporate volunteers

· Achieve delivery targets of employee volunteers engaged and beneficiaries supported

· Build and maintain strong relationships with Evolve partners’ Corporate Social Responsibility teams. Manage cohorts of corporate volunteers in line with project targets

The Community Fundraising Manager is an exciting role at MDUK, that will sit within the Fundrasing Team. 

In Community Fundraising we are the team that builds relationships with our supporters, families, and event participants to fundraise so that MDUK can continue to find treatments and ultimately cures through research, and to drive improvements in care and quality of life.

Location: This is a remote UK-based role with regular travel to CST’s national and regional events, mainly in Birmingham and London. Candidates within reasonable travel distance to these locations are preferred.

The Professional Communities Manager leads the development, content curation, and operational delivery of CST’s 11 Professional Communities. These networks, events, and forums are a core benefit of CST membership and are provided free of charge to members.

This is a proactive, member-focused role that blends operational excellence with strategic content oversight. The postholder will work directly with community chairs, subject experts, community supporters, CST platinum partners and members to ensure that all communities are vibrant, professionally hosted, and deliver high-quality, relevant content.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with communities and a passion for delivering climate solutions which improve people’s lives. As our new Community Heat and Energy Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering our major new community heat and energy workstrand. You’ll work with local communities and expert research partners to move forward local renewable energy projects which help power clean heat solutions at three different sites in England, as well as developing ways to remove barriers to delivering this type of project, such as supplying energy locally and matching supply and demand.

• Contract: 16 months at 4.5 days per week (or a nine-day fortnight if preferred). We are not accepting applications for job shares for this role. While we would like to extend the contract beyond 16 months, as this is a grant-funded role, we cannot currently offer this.

• Work status: We don’t have a sponsor licence, so we're unable to provide sponsorship for a work visa, and candidates are required to hold the right to work for the duration of the contract.

• Salary: £39,200 for a 4.5 day week (pro-rata’d from £43,556 FTE). This is band C3 on our pay scale. 

• Location: Some of the role will be site-specific. We are therefore open to candidates based anywhere in the UK, although some travel to project sites will be required, and there will be an  occasional requirement to attend our Camden office, although you would be welcome to work there more often.

• Working hours: 0.9 FTE, i.e. 4.5 days per week or a 9 day fortnight. Our core working days are Tuesday and Wednesdays, when all staff are required to work. 

• Managed by: Head of Aviation, Heat and Energy.

• Works closely with: Possible’s Head of Comms, Digital Comms and Engagement Manager and Fundraising Manager, as well as key external partners including community energy groups.

We have come a long way in that time – from a straightforward homework club to a well established community support charity, transforming the lives of close to 3,000 people each year.

The Community Engagement Manager will play a key role in making this happen, ensuring our centre remains a thriving hub where clients can engage in activities that promote wellbeing, reduce isolation, and build social connections (sometimes over a simple coffee and biscuit!). This role will involve listening to and respecting the voices of the community to shape meaningful activities, building and maintaining partnerships with local organisations to maximise opportunities for engagement, working collaboratively with colleagues across employment support, advice and guidance, and youth education services to ensure a joined-up approach. Reporting to the Chief Programmes Officer, you will be central to creating a vibrant, inclusive community environment that supports people to thrive.

In 2024 ClementJames introduced a 9 day fortnight policy through which, staff members work 9 days over a fortnight and have a Friday off every other week. We introduced this as a way of prioritising staff wellbeing, and ensuring individuals have a strong work-life balance. This policy will apply to you.

Salary: £27,007.50 FTE (£10,803 pro-rata) per annum (London Living Wage)​

Hours: Part-time, 15 hours per week (0.4 FTE), preferably worked over 3 afternoons/evenings (Tue – Thu)​

Location: On site at London Projects, and remote working as needed​

Do you want to work with multiple-award winning charity, FoodCycle? Our vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community – including our school communities!​

We’ve partnered with 4 schools across London to bring our free community meal to their families after school hours, with the additional goal of helping connect families with each other and the school and introducing kids to new healthy food.​

We’re looking for some additional help over the next 6 months to support the volunteer teams on site and make these meals happen. You’ll need to have an interest and experience in working with kids and families!​

By joining us you’ll gain an understanding of different aspects of local project delivery for a national charity. You’ll be hands-on and have an immediate impact each day, leading small teams of volunteers who cook in the kitchen and host our guests to create a positive and welcoming environment and a nutritious vegetarian meal.​

Our school meals happen on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and we would ideally like you to work your hours across these three afternoons/evenings. You’ll be supporting 2 meals per week on average, with around 5 hours required per meal. That leaves 5 additional hours to join team meetings and complete other duties.​

You’ll be supported by our experienced operational team, and we will equip you with a package of training and shadowing, including specific training around food safety, safeguarding and working within the lively environment of schools!​

Benefits: We offer 26.5 days holiday plus bank holidays for full-time employees (pro-rata for part-time). Our healthcare package allows staff to claim money back on healthcare bills and includes access to telephone counselling and online GP appointments.​

Key requirements:

· Proven leadership experience managing services for vulnerable children, young people, and families.

· Strong background in team management, budget oversight, and quality assurance.

· Skilled in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and service development.

· Experience with tenders, funding bids, and strategic growth.

· Knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, and data-driven performance monitoring.

· Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with an understanding of intersectionality.

· Excellent communication, project management, and organisational skills.

· A recognised qualification in social work, health, education, youth work (or equivalent), and ideally a management qualification.
