We are currently recruiting a Programme Coordinator to lead and coordinate a network of Community Ambassadors, embedded within grassroots organisations. You will support them to champion health improvements, build trust between communities and service providers, and co-design culturally appropriate, inclusive health and wellbeing activities. Priority areas include diabetes, cardiovascular disease, mental health & isolation, menopause, and the wider determinants of health.

Plumstead Community Law Centre is a free specialist legal advice charity located in central Woolwich in South East London. We provide specialist legal advice and advocacy in the areas of immigration, welfare benefits and employment People can access our services via telephone or email, and through the Advice Hub outreach services we attend in local community centres. In 2024 over 1,400 local people accessed our advice and representation services, resulting in a range of financial and non-financial benefits.

Towards the end of 2024, we moved away from a collective model towards a functional management structure. We appointed an Interim CEO from the staff group and expanded our trustee board's size and expertise.

• Conduct outreach to celebrate community strengths and foster engagement. 

• Develop and embed an ABCD-informed way of working.

We are looking for someone with: 

• A Community Development qualification and/or experience of taking an asset-based approach to community development with transferable skills. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships that drive action. 

• A track record of successful collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders. 

PLEASE NOTE: 

• The successful candidate will need to be based within a 30-minute commute of the centre of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel regularly within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). There will The successful candidate must possess a valid full UK driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes. 

• There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to other UK locations for meetings and events depending on the charity’s needs such as our annual all colleagues in person event.

• The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday - Sunday. Core working days will be Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is essential, as regular evening and weekend work will also be required to meet the needs of the role. Working hours will vary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a two-week period, so please take this into consideration before applying.

The Centre Business Manager will lead the day to day operations at the Centre and the Centre staff team to drive forwards business growth and service impact.

OVERVIEW OF THE POST

The Youth & Communities Programme Manager provides leadership and management for the youth & communities team and their programme of work, driving quality delivery and growth.

Working closely with other programme managers, they ensure that delivery is focused on achieving the Groundwork GM vision, facilitate learning across programme areas, ensure consistency in programme delivery and explore improvements to the way we work.

Delivery

· Lead and effectively manage the youth & communities programme, including:

- Community youth work, detached and centre/park based

- Youth & community engagement in climate and nature projects

- Capacity building, including coaching, mentoring and skills development.

- Community outreach to support Groundwork’s services to reach their target audiences.

Business & Service Development

· Lead and manage the youth & communities team’s business development plan;

- implementing sustainability plans for core services

We’re recruiting for a Communications Manager, England, to play a vital role in helping us to build community cohesion, strengthen society, and improve lives – as we deliver on our strategy, It Starts With Community.This role is an 18 month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity. 

The position is part of an exciting and sophisticated programme aimed at tackling social issues. Through this initiative, we work closely with government to distribute money from long since unused bank and building society accounts (‘dormant assets’) for the benefit of the community. 

The job will focus on two multi-million-pound funding schemes that The National Lottery Community Fund will deliver. These are:

•  The Community Wealth Fund (a pot of money given to local communities to spend on what they decide will improve where they live); and 
• The Youth Enrichment Fund (aimed at increasing disadvantaged young people’s access to opportunities in the arts, culture, sports, and wider youth services, aimed at improving wellbeing and employability)

In this role, you’ll work closely with government and colleagues across the Fund to deliver integrated, multi-channel communications activities that effectively promote these programmes and showcase their impact on the communities we serve. Your work will help shape public understanding of the schemes, inspire communities to engage with them, and build trust with key stakeholders.

We are looking for a calm and organised strategic communicator and storyteller with an ability to build relationships and adapt. You’ll be experienced in developing integrated campaigns and working across teams to deliver high-impact communications. 

Key responsibilities:

•  Develop deep insight into these programmes, to enable you to implement effective communications plans for them while supporting Strategic Communications Leads to build and manage matrix teams.
•  Design, develop, and deliver messaging, narrative and content, as well as social and brand assets, working closely with colleagues in the wider team to deliver effective and impactful communications activities.
• Build positive relationships with government comms and policy counterparts as well as with teammates and colleagues across the Fund to make programme communications relevant and resonate internally and within Government departments (specifically DCMS and MHCLG) and, most importantly, the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Line Management

· Provide leadership and line management to service managers and project leads.

· Oversee recruitment, supervision, and staff development in line with Family Action policies.

· Foster a high-performance culture and provide operational cover when needed.

Financial Oversight

· Manage service budgets to ensure sustainability and value for money.

· Identify financial risks and contribute to business planning and service development.

Operational Delivery & Quality Assurance

· Ensure services meet strategic goals and comply with quality, safeguarding, and data standards.

· Lead on new service setup, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.

· Embed service user participation and report Social Value outcomes.

Strategic Growth & Business Development

· Support regional strategy delivery and contribute to tenders and funding bids.

· Build partnerships, promote services, and help coordinate events to share best practice.

What you'll be doing: 
We are looking for a passionate and committed leader in community engagement to drive forward our mission at Kent Wildlife Trust. Our goal is to see 25% of people in Kent taking action for nature by 2030. 
 
As Wilder Engagement Manager, you will lead our Wilder Engagement Team to develop and implement innovative approaches to community organising and stakeholder engagement, ensuring people and wildlife can thrive together. This role is pivotal in delivering real change for nature, empowering communities, and integrating social science into our conservation work. 
 
Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Community & Stakeholder Engagement – Building and nurturing relationships with local communities and key stakeholders to support coexistence with wildlife.
• Community Organising – Leading and implementing an evidence-based approach that empowers communities to take meaningful action for nature.
• Social Science & Impact Measurement – Overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of our engagement efforts, working closely with the Monitoring & Evidence team.
• Leadership & Collaboration – Managing and supporting a team of passionate community organisers while working in partnership with a wide range of organisations and experts.
• Strategic Development – Championing community organising within Kent Wildlife Trust, influencing best practices and securing sustainable funding for engagement initiatives.

 
Our work includes exciting species reintroduction and wilding projects such as Pine Martens, European Bison, Red-billed Chough, and Beavers, as well as large-scale landscape restoration projects. You will play a vital role in ensuring these projects are developed in partnership with communities, creating lasting change for both people and wildlife.

• Have experience in community engagement, organising, or stakeholder relationship management.

• Have knowledge or experience of social science methodologies for monitoring and evaluation.
• Understand the barriers to community involvement in conservation and have ideas for how to overcome them.
• Have experience working with underrepresented groups and are committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice.

Overall Purpose of the Corporate Partnernersips and Philanthropy Manager

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is an exciting new role, joining our small and expanding fundraising team.

This new role supports the delivery of our ambitious plans to develop and grow income from corporate partners including pharmaceuticals and major donors.  You will proactively lead on identifying, developing and delivering high and mid value partnerships.
