What will you be doing?

When people text 'Shout' to 85258, they are connected to a Shout Volunteer for a text conversation. Our volunteers provide a safe space for people to share what's causing them distress, while showing warmth and compassion.
Tasks and Responsibilities
If your application is successful, you’ll be enrolled in a training group. New groups start every two weeks.
Shout Volunteers receive 25 hours of free training in communication, listening, managing and assessing risk, and problem solving. The training is self-paced and done online. You’ll learn how to bring people in distress to a place of calm and practice skills that will be useful to you throughout life.
As we are investing in you throughout your time with us, our hope is that you will complete the training in a timely manner and look at this as a longer term commitment. The experience you gain over time is valuable and our goal is to have volunteers commit to 200 hours on the platform, which can take up to two years to complete, as we ask you to take one 2-4 hour shift per week.
Our Volunteer Training Support team is here to support you, answer any questions and provide feedback during training and throughout your time with Shout. You’ll be joining an incredibly supportive volunteer community and have access to the resources you need to do your role.
As a volunteer, you’ll be supporting people in distress, so it’s important we see the skills required to do that while you are in training. While most trainees complete the training and go on to volunteer, not everyone will pass the training. If this happens, there are other ways you can still support us.

Role Summary
Mast Cell Action is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Volunteer Graphics Support Coordinator to assist with designing engaging and visually compelling graphics for our social media platforms. This role plays a key part in helping us raise awareness about Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and fostering a sense of community.
Key Responsibilities
Design graphics for social media posts, stories, and campaigns in line with the Mast Cell Action branding guidelines.
Collaborate with the social media team to understand content needs and ensure timely delivery of assets.
Support the development of visuals for ongoing campaigns, such as "MCAS is..." and "Please Don't Test Me."
Create eye-catching visuals for announcements, events, and educational content.
Maintain and organise a library of graphics for easy future access and use.
Skills and Experience
Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
A keen eye for design, colour, and typography.
Ability to interpret and work within brand guidelines.
Ability to interpret briefs and translate them into creative designs.
Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Passion for raising awareness and supporting communities affected by health challenges (knowledge of MCAS is a plus but not required).

We are a national suicide prevention charity, and our vision is a future where more lives are saved from suicide. We empower people to help saves lives from suicide through connecting, educating, and campaigning nationally:
· Connecting: We listen and connect people to support through our Stay Alive app, tools, and resources to help keep people safe from suicide.
· Educating: We offer bespoke and evidence-based consultation and training, co-designed to empower individuals, organisations, and communities to develop the skills and confidence to help save lives.
· Campaigning: We help remove the stigma around suicide. We know that most suicides are preventable with timely intervention and the right support. We raise awareness through campaigning on the ground and influencing at a strategic level.
As a Trustee, you will be joining a charity in a strong position with an ambition to build on our successes. We will be looking to build on existing activities and developing new innovative projects.
Trustees are our most senior leaders. They set our strategic direction, make sure we’re using our resources effectively and ensure we’re having the greatest possible impact in the communities in which we work. Trustees are expected to undertake duties in a manner that reflects GSP’s values and ethos.
We are particularly looking for Trustees with skills and experience in one of the following areas:

About Jabalie
Jabalie is a UK registered charity that aims to educate and empower survivors and individuals at high-risk of gender-based violence to promote their safety, autonomy and economic independence. Our vision is a world in which people of all genders are economically empowered, free from violence and abuse, and lead full lives with freedom and autonomy.
We are currently developing an education and empowerment programme for survivors of gender-based violence, to be delivered in the UK and Kenya.
Our name is derived from the word “Jabali” meaning “strong as a rock” in Swahili, symbolising the strength of all those we work with.
Role description
The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in making sure that Jabalie achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. They also ensure that Jabalie has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision.
As a small and newly registered charity, our Trustees have an active role in the organisation relating to their area of expertise, beyond the Board meetings.
General Trustee Duties
The duties of a Trustee include:
- Attending and contributing at quarterly Trustee Board meetings.
- Ensuring that Jabalie pursues its stated objectives (purposes) defined in its Constitution, including helping to develop a long-term strategy to achieve them.
- Ensuring that Jabalie complies with its governing rules laid out in its Constitution.
- Ensuring that Jabalie complies with charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
- Ensuring the financial stability of Jabalie.
Philanthropy and Development
In addition to the general duties of a Trustee, duties of the Philanthropy and Development Trustee include the following:
- Developing and overseeing fundraising strategy with action plans, ensuring they align with Jabalie’s strategic goals and financial needs.
- Cultivating relationships with donors, funders, and key stakeholders to secure financial support and long-term commitments.
- Identifying opportunities to collaborate with businesses, foundations, and institutions for sponsorships, grants, and major gifts.
- Managing and maintaining data and information on potential opportunities and relationships for generating funds in a systematic way, such as using a CRM system.
- Working with the Marketing and Communications Trustee in developing initiatives and campaigns for fundraising and generating donations.
- Managing the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives, events and campaigns to engage the community and attract new supporters.
- Working with the Strategy and Impact Analysis Trustee in establishing and overseeing impact evaluation and performance metrics in alignment of funders’ requirements.
- Evaluating the level of success of the fundraising and donor engagement efforts, and providing feedback and data analysis that could shape future initiatives, events and campaigns.
- Ensuring fundraising efforts comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards, maintaining transparency and accountability.
- Acting as an ambassador for Jabalie, championing its mission and fostering philanthropic support through networking and public speaking (as required).
What we are looking for
- Commitment to the organisation and alignment with Jabalie’s mission and vision.
- Experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or development.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to engage with donors and key stakeholders effectively.
- Willingness and ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as Trustees and to act in the best interests of the organisation.
- Willingness to devote the necessary time and efforts required for the role.
- Strategic vision and desire to support the growth of Jabalie.
Terms of appointment
- Trustees are appointed for a 3-year term of office, subject to renewal.
- Trustees must be available to attend quarterly Board meetings, held virtually. Occasional annual strategy days may be held in-person in London.
- This position is voluntary.
