The role of a Therapeutic Community Caseworker at the Baobab Centre is to support unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee adolescents and young adults to access care, basic rights and entitlements and to support their social development and rehabilitation.This role involves working closely with the clinical key worker of each young person and with our wider multidisciplinary team. As a Caseworker you will aim to empower individuals to build stable, independent lives in the UK, including by supporting them to communicate their views, needs and experiences in decision-making processes, and supporting them to make challenges when necessary. Caseworkers assist young people to make effective choices about what happens in their lives and encourage them to speak up and build agency.
Baobab aims to be a non-residential therapeutic community with a holistic and integrated perspective.As a Caseworker, you will play a key role within our multidisciplinary team. We aim to be a thinking organisation and place a high value on shared thinking time and shared responsibilities. Our team work together with each other and with agencies and key individuals in young people’s lives, both within and outside of Baobab. A key aspect of the role is communicating with members of the clinical and admin staff team within the Baobab Centre and with other workers in the network around each young person including social workers, teachers, foster carers, lawyers, hospital consultants, housing and benefits workers. etc. You will strive to develop relationships across networks and advocate access to rights and entitlements for our community members.
It is critical that as a Caseworker:

you have an insight to the backgrounds and experiences of both the internal and external factors impacting on the lives of unaccompanied young people attending our centre and an understanding of the broader context in our society as it impacts on young asylum seekers (including invisibility, marginalisation, discrimination and the fact of waiting in uncertainty for a long time.

You have an insight in how trauma and the many human rights violations and persecution that most members of our community have experienced impact on all aspects of a young person’s internal and external world.

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate Activity Worker to join our 24/7 supported accommodation service based in Enfield which supports residents who face challenges with their mental health, either transitioning from acute mental health wards or other residential settings. Our team are here to support our residents with care and rehabilitation to help them to achieve their personal needs and goals.
In this role, you’ll work on the frontline delivering high-quality, trauma-informed support within a psychologically informed environment (PIE). You’ll create and deliver activities programmes designed to support recovery, reablement, and independence, helping residents overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver engaging group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents’ needs

We’re hiring a Trauma Stabilisation Worker to join our team based in Hove. In this role, you will support women who have experienced significant trauma and multiple disadvantages, including domestic and sexual violence, exploitation, homelessness, mental ill-health and substance use.
As a Trauma Stabilisation Worker, you will deliver person-centred support and structured interventions to help residents manage trauma, build emotional regulation skills and develop coping strategies to support recovery and housing stability. About You

You will have experience supporting people affected by issues such as domestic abuse, mental ill-health, homelessness, and substance use. You will be confident delivering structured support, including one-to-one interventions and group work and be able to engage individuals who may be in distress or disengaged from services.
You’ll be proactive, organised, and able to manage a varied workload, while working collaboratively within a team. You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and will have alignment with our SIG values. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves.

Are you passionate about supporting and transforming the lives of people who are experiencing homelessness in Hammersmith & Fulham?
We are looking for a motivated Senior Case Worker to join the team at our St Mungo’s Starlight project.
The Starlight project is a 6 bed refuge for Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer men and Non-Binary people made homeless due to domestic abuse. Our aim is to resolve homelessness through dedicated support over a 6-9 month period. We provide immediate safety, alongside advocacy and support, working to rebuild lives, address unmet needs and connect clients to specialist services, building resilience, independence and self-esteem to prevent revictimisation.
In the role of Senior Case Worker you will work with a wide range of partners, accessing strong local opportunities in Hammersmith & Fulham, including housing pathways, community resources, learning and specialist support. Starlight also has strong links with LGBTQ+ organisations across London. In this role you will:
- Take a leading role in the support, care and case management of all our residents, lone working and providing 1-1 case working with clients on a regular basis.
- Oversee referrals and lead on assessments.
- Maintain accurate compliant casework records, and other relevant admin duties.
- Manage a complex and varied caseload and using motivational interviewing techniques, person centred and trauma informed approaches to identify personal goals awork towards achieving them.
- Liaise with a range of external housing and specialist partners and agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for our residents.
- Respond to challenging behaviour using a psychologically informed approach.
- Complete housing management and health & safety tasks to ensure a consistent, safe and quality service is provided.

About the Role
The Mental Health Recovery Worker supports individuals within the community, to improve mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured interventions. At times this may mean deescalating crisis.
The role will be part of a larger Recovery Lounge team made up of Mental Health Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.
About the Recovery Lounge Service
Our Recovery Lounges offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues, experience of working in a small service within a wider organisation, including delivering a service against performance targets and have the ability to Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have good communication, motivational and negotiation skills and understand the wellbeing needs of and working with people with mental health needs, including those from culturally diverse communities.

The Peer Support In-Reach Service is a partnership between several local Minds. Senior Peer Support Workers and Peer Support Workers, who have direct lived experience of mental health issues, are working on in-patient wards in Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Wandsworth to provide recovery-focused peer support to people as they leave hospital and journey towards living independently in the community.
We are seeking a Senior Peer Support Worker to join the team in Lewisham and line manage the Peer Support Workers.
You will use your lived experience whilst on the ward to help people to build skills to manage their home, finances, connect with family and friends, pursue social or vocational interests, to get more involved in their local community and to stay physically and mentally well.
Your support will be person-centred and may include mentoring, coaching, emotional support and facilitating access to community activities, practical support, work or study. The role will be ward-based initially until the patient is ready for discharge; you will then work with them to develop their support plans and goals. You will support them with the transition into the community for up to 12 weeks, helping them to connect with community resources to ensure they are well-supported in the community and working towards their goals.

We provide long-term, holistic support. We consider every aspect of a young person’s life and build support around them.
About the Mental Health Youth Work Service Pilot
The prevalence of reported mental health challenges in children and young people living in England have been increasing. In addition, research tells us that children and young people facing such challenges with their mental health are more likely to self-harm. For some children and young people, A&E Departments may be a first point of contact with healthcare services following self-harm. While in recent years the number of attendances by children and young people for mental health needs and/or self-harm have stabilised, there was a sharp increase in attendances following the pandemic. For children and young people who have gone to A&E for support with their mental health, such as following self-harm, waiting a long time in A&E can be hard. A&E Departments are often very busy and loud places and there is not always access to secluded space for those who have gone to A&E when experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
Children and young people who are also neurodiverse may find the environment particularly challenging and overstimulating while they are waiting to access care and support. This pilot aims to strengthen the offer of support to young people aged 11-18 in A&E, and also consider the wider social and emotional wellbeing needs of those individuals whilst in that environment and following discharge by ensuring there is follow up support for a variety of services.
The Mental Health Youth Work Service model has been informed by young people with experience of hospital attendances after self-harming, and their feedback has been used to shape the care we aim to deliver.
The service runs across two hospital sites in London: King’s College Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There will be a team consisting of one Senior Youth Worker and a Youth Worker embedded in each site.
Where you fit in
This is an exciting new service working in partnership with Queen Elizabeth Hospital Accident and Emergency Department. The project is a pilot that aims to provide specialist Youth Work support for young people presenting to a hospital because of their mental health, and specifically where they attend because of self-harm.
The Senior Youth Worker will lead on the Mental Health Youth Work service embedded within the A&E department. This will involve line management responsibilities for the Mental Health Youth Worker, partnership working to build relationships both internally within the hospital and externally in the local community, and with both statutory and non-statutory partners.
The Senior Youth worker will be expected to support and build trusting relationships with young people who present with acute needs and are often in a crisis. They will manage a caseload of their own, with contact taking place both in the hospital and post-discharge in the community.
The Senior Youth Worker will ensure the integration of the service at their respective hospital A&E department, and work alongside the Team Leader in reporting, monitoring and evaluation requirements
Main Duties & Accountabilities
- Lead the delivery of the Mental Health Youth Work service for young people aged 11-18 who attend the A&E department. Ensure that all young people are assessed holistically and care plans are tailored, trauma-informed and empowering, with the aim of reducing further harm.
- Line manage the Mental Health Youth Worker, providing guidance and direction through regular contact and meetings, case allocation, caseload oversight and one-to-one supervision, both formally and informally.
- In collaboration with the other Senior Youth Worker, provide overall support to the team to develop and improve skills, including assessment and recording, to ensure that Redthread’s model of intervention is delivered consistently.
- Promote high levels of wellbeing for staff members who are working with young people who have experienced acute and chronic mental health challenges
- Hold a caseload and work with young people with often complex needs, in a range of settings, including in A&E, in the community, face-to-face and virtually where required, and promote their personal, educational, health and social development through all interactions
- Assist with the on-going development of the service model to ensure that young people and other stakeholders gain the maximum benefit from Redthread’s interventions
- Along with the team, tailor and design youth work resources that are specific to the young people we are working with
- Contribute to the training programme that Redthread provides for hospital staff, including informal microteaching and more formal presentations.
- With support from the Team Leader, maintain strong working relationships within the Hospital, and NHS staff ensuring that Redthread youth workers are fully embedded in the health setting and are working with clinical staff to deliver a service that meets the needs of young people, including promoting the service within the hospital and attending appropriate internal meetings
- Assist in building and maintaining strong working relationships with Redthread stakeholders, project partners and with other agencies working with young people and to represent Redthread at external meetings as required.
- Ensure that as a team, you are proactive in researching and networking with other organisations working with young people in the area served by the hospital to ensure that the Youth Workers have a good knowledge of other services and projects that may be of interest to the young people we work with or appropriate for us to refer to.
- Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings in hospital, working with ED staff and CAMHS teams to support and safeguard young people
- Maintain a good level of professional knowledge of the issues affecting young people, particularly related to their mental health needs and self harm.
- In all areas of the work, apply an in-depth understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working with children and young people, and provide guidance to your team members that adheres to Redthread’s Safeguarding policy and procedures and safeguarding policies of respective NHS Trusts.
- Ensure information resources such as client forms, databases and contact files are kept fully up-to-date and secure, in line with GDPR, the Data Protection Act and our Confidentiality Policy and Consent Policy. Maintain high-quality recording of interventions with young people on our database, Salesforce, in line with Redthread’s best-practice requirements. (Training will be provided.)
- Collect and record evidence of project outcomes and young people’s achievements, to ensure the completion of monitoring forms and project progress reports as required.
- Work as part of a team to continue to develop the programme’s monitoring and evaluation in order to facilitate internal reflection and learning, and to demonstrate its effectiveness and impact to external stakeholders.
- To ensure that the Youth Worker accurately captures and records data on the CRM system. To ensure that it can be used to identify trends and provide insights. To use these insights and trends to shape service delivery and share information with partners.
- With support from the Team Leader and oversight from the Service Manager, produce monthly and quarterly reports as required by funders and to inform leaders of the operational performance of the organisation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Relevant level 3 or 4 qualification in health & wellbeing, youth provision or similar or demonstrable equivalent experience

- A degree-level qualification in social work, youth work, social science, education or another relevant field
- Qualifications in counselling and/or mental health first aid for young people

- A thorough knowledge and understanding of the physical, social and emotional developmental needs of young people

Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver a one-to-one outreach service for people who are in psychiatric hospitals across Hertfordshire, based at Kingfisher Court in Radlett and Albany Lodge in St. Albans.
About the Role:
The Bounce Back worker will use a recovery orientated approach working with patients on the ward, and in the local community, including in people’s homes.
The Bounce Back Worker will be based at Kingfisher Court, Albany Lodge and Herts Mind Network Centres, promoting joint working between Kingfisher Court, Albany Lodge staff and HMN, creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.
The aims of the Bounce Back service are; to provide up to 10 sessions of emotional and practical support, advice and information to patients. We will visit patients on the ward and continue the sessions in the local community and in patients homes once discharged. We will facilitate a smooth and timely hospital discharge.
The recovery approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity, compassion and humanity.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive referrals from the ward teams at Kingfisher Court, Albany Lodge and other appropriate hospitals across Hertfordshire.
- Provide practical and emotional support to encourage patients to develop their independence within their local community.
- Facilitate a smooth discharge from hospital back to the community.
- Have a solid understanding on the dual effect of mental health and drugs and alcohol.
- Monitor outcomes and evaluate the service.
- Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of patients using the service is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- Embed a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.

Are you passionate about walking alongside people as they rebuild their lives? We’re looking for a compassionate and committed Housing First Support Worker to help people move on from homelessness into secure, independent living.
This is a truly person-centred, community-based role where relationships are at the heart of everything. You’ll work with individuals who have often experienced significant trauma and exclusion, offering flexible, long-term support that adapts to their needs. Through patience, consistency, and trust, you’ll support people to maintain their tenancies, improve their wellbeing, and reconnect with their communities.
You’ll hold a small caseload, enabling you to provide meaningful, tailored support – whether that’s helping someone set up their new home, access health and recovery services, manage finances, or simply being a steady, reliable presence in their lives. Working collaboratively with local partners, you’ll play a key role in helping people build a stable and hopeful future.
About you:
You’ll bring experience of working with people facing homelessness, mental health challenges, or other complex needs, alongside a genuine belief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. You’ll be resilient, empathetic, and able to work both independently and as part of a wider team. Strong communication skills are essential, as is a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, given the rural nature of the role.
