SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. You’ll know how to follow processes to record, monitor and evaluate supporters’ engagement with community fundraising activities, so this feeds back into how the charity operates.

Much of the charity’s income comes from our motivated and passionate supporters, so this role is a key part of income generation. The successful candidate will be able to build on current processes and successes to grow our engagement across all fundraising activities, platforms and campaigns. Experience of bid/grant writing would be desirable.  

Elders Voice is a local charity serving older people in Brent. We are recruiting a CEO to lead our talented and experienced staff team through a period of change to ensure our financial security.

Elders Voice is an established and trusted charity in the heart of Kensal Green. We believe ageing should be a wonderful and worthwhile journey, but for that to happen older people need to feel safe and happy in their homes and have access to affordable activities in an environment that embraces their differences. 

The pillars of our work are a well-respected handyperson service and a day centre offering a range of activities focusing on health and well-being, socialising, art, gardening and intergenerational work with and for older people.

The CEO will need to embrace our aims and lead the EV team to provide services based on holistic, long-term, high-quality relationships and to ensure that older people shape development of our services. In this difficult economic environment, we need to explore new funding opportunities and transition away from a reliance on local authority funding.

You will report directly to the Chair of the Board of Trustees and be supported by the board and a small, dedicated staff team.

• To lead the staff team to deliver excellent services for older people in Brent.
• To ensure the financial stability of Elders Voice.
• To work with the board of trustees to develop and deliver the strategic plan.
• To act as an ambassador for Elders Voice and the older people we represent.

 Maximise Giving

You will implement a philanthropic giving strategy that significantly shifts the museums approach towards the generation of substantial philanthropic income and that supports the Museum's vision and mission. You will work collaboratively with the Executive, Board of Trustees and senior leadership team to establish a long-term plan and supporting fundraising strategies that align and help the museum move forward with its objectives.

 Cultivate and Steward Donors

You will actively cultivate and steward relationships with potential and existing donors, for major new, repeat and legacy gifts, significantly raising the profile of Beamish, generating excitement and a desire to support Beamish now and into the future across a range of projects.  These will be supported by stewardship plans that foster mutual trust to secure ongoing support. 

Reputation and Engagement

You will build the profile of the Museum through donor engagement.  You will personally manage a portfolio of prospective donors, guiding them through the cultivation process, and ultimately securing new funding. You will work closely with the CEO building new networks, opening new doors and linking with communities in support of the museum's philanthropic goals and furthering its reputation and that of the sector.

Successful Philanthropy Team

You will ensure a high performing team is in place that supports Beamish’s Philanthropic strategy, imbuing a culture of innovation and enterprise across the museum. The team will ensure day to day delivery of the function, including to trusts and grants, provide excellent customer service, and produce timely data to support and measure the impact of all giving.  The team will champion equality, diversity and sustainability and creating a strong culture of philanthropy throughout Beamish. 

Essential Qualities, Experience and Knowledge

• Significant experience working at a senior level, building strong relationships with supporters who can give at a six/seven figure level.
• Demonstrable extensive networks, including trusts and foundations, corporate partners and high net worth individuals.
• Personal track record of securing six figure donations from Trusts and Foundations
• An excellent communicator who can inspire staff, volunteers and colleagues in taking our philanthropic strategy forwards.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills including tact, sophistication and gravitas 
• ·Able to work collaboratively, engaging with colleagues to design robust project proposals and reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems

Are you a great fundraiser with an interest in helping a growing and successful charity based in North-West England? All Aboard Youth Rowing – formerly known as Warrington Youth Rowing – is a charity established to support disadvantaged children achieve life skills using the sport of rowing.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative fundraising professional to coordinate and achieve additional funding.

The Role

The Fundraising Officer will coordinate all fundraising activities in line with the Charity’s overall strategy and sustainability plans.  Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Fundraising Officer will identify sources of income and build good working relationships with funders to achieve agreed funding targets.

The role is based in the North-West of England working from home and ideally, the Fundraising Officer will be in one of the following locations:

Key areas of responsibility for the Fundraising Officer include:

• Contribute and assist with the development of a fundraising strategy for the Charity.

• Achieve the agreed funding target of newly sourced funding within the specified and agreed timeframe.

• Identify potential sources of funding and maximise opportunities to secure funding and grow and develop income.

• Develop relationships with funders aiming to achieve and maintain long-term partnerships.

• Maintain a database of funding sources, funders, and funding partners.

• Apply for funding by letters of interest or application forms dependent on the funding organisation’s requirements. 

About You

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have a background in fundraising.  They must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of securing funding from national funders, preferably for the youth or sport sector. They will have experience of monitoring the impact of community projects.  In addition, they will be adaptable and comfortable working on both their own initiative and as a team player.

About the Organisation

The Charity has a desire to grow and become more sustainable, the Fundraising Officer will play a key role in achieving this ambition.  The aim of the Charity is to enhance the life skills of disadvantaged youngsters using the sport of rowing.  The charity works closely with Henley Stewards Charitable Trust and British Rowing to help achieve this aim.

You will have excellent facilitation, training and coaching skills and passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills.

Fluency in English is essential and French is highly desirable. Knowledge of language relevant to Fauna & Flora’s work, such as Bahasa, Swahili, Russian, Portuguese or Spanish, will be highly valuable.

Fauna & Flora is part of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative in The David Attenborough Building, providing a great platform for collaboration with other conservation organisations and University of Cambridge departments and institutions. Context of the role.

The Pituitary Foundation are recruiting for a new CEO to lead us into the next phase of our journey.

The Pituitary Foundation is the UK’s leading charity providing support and information for people living with pituitary conditions, their families, friends and carers. We are based in an office in central Bristol, with some staff and volunteers working remotely throughout the UK. Pituitary conditions are uncommon, usually lifelong and can be life threatening. Conditions include acromegaly, Cushing's, prolactinoma, AVP-Deficiency and hypopituitarism.

The Role and the Team 

Blue Light Card Foundation is seeking an experienced and innovative Charity Chief Executive Officer who's passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the blue light community by developing the charity’s strategy, to enable it to grow and flourish in supporting its mission.

Blue Light Card Foundation want every member of the blue light community to know that they have support, and to know where to find it in their time of need. 

We fund projects across the UK to provide those that deal with the most challenging situations with quality resources, connected environments, and places that support their wellbeing.

What You’ll Do  

• Develop and implement strong strategic plans and put these into action in a scalable and sustainable way 

• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by actively engaging in mentoring initiatives, empowering colleagues to reach their full potential, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and professional development 

• Create strategic relationships, collaborative partnerships outside the charity and act as an ambassador and advocate for Blue Light Card Foundation 

• Represent Blue Light Card Foundation at senior meetings within the blue light sector 

• Oversee and implement recruitment, selection, training, development and performance management of colleagues 

• Monitor the effectiveness of Blue Light Card Foundation’s work in making a difference and implement change in response to feedback and data 

• Ensure the health and safety and safeguarding of the blue light community is supported by Blue Light Card Foundation programmes 

• Ensure that Trustees are kept well-informed of key developments in Blue Light Card Foundation and provided with sufficient financial and management information to enable them to exercise their statutory responsibilities 

• Manage the charity budget and produce regular financial reports and forecasts

• Implement sound, sustainable funding plans, oversee fundraising activities ensuring these meet the needs of the foundation 

• Develop and implement integrated campaigns, effective marketing channels and media strategy, reporting on impact and raising the charity presence and profile

• Ensure full and accurate reporting including the preparation of an annual report and financial statements to the Charity Commission 

What You’ll Bring  

• Senior leadership experience within the charity sector including leading teams in demanding public-facing roles 

• Experience of growing and managing charity programmes, strong governance skills, communications, events and fundraising oversight 

• Experience of developing strong external public relationships promoting and representing an organisation 

• Experience securing funds and working with funding partners and knowledge of funding methodology and related financial issues 

• Grant management and grant making decisions and oversight

• An understanding of the key measures of financial management and control in a challenging environment 

• Strategic thinking with sound strategic planning, ability to articulate a clear vision and a track record of achieving targets 

• Strong stakeholder management skills and a management style which encourages, motivates, inspires, supports, and develops colleagues 

• Commitment to relevant legislation and good practice in relation to equality and diversity and safeguarding and promoting good mental health and wellbeing in the blue light sector 

• Experience within the blue light sector would be an advantage
