Role description
As our director of digital and information security, you will lead our digital risk and resilience team and programme in order to help build resistance and resilience among the people and movements challenging unaccountable power.
Your focus in this senior role at this crucial time will be on leadership, strategy, growth, and culture, with specific responsibility for our digital risk and resilience programme, internal information security, and tech transformation. Your responsibilities will include:
Lead our digital risk and resilience programme
- Manage the design and delivery of our digital and information security support, including:
- Coordinate the digital security mentoring, accompaniment, and capacity sharing we deliver to at-risk activists and low-resource civil society organisations referred through our rapid response mechanism.
- Oversee the professional information security consultancy and advisory services we provide to high-profile nonprofit and foundation clients.
- Develop our holistic security approach and ensure the smooth delivery of holistic security projects as part of our cross-programme leadership group.
- Lead a team of digital and information security professionals and technologists, including:
- Build and maintain an effective team, and recruit, onboard, and mentor new consultants as required to meet increased demand or to fill gaps.
- Inspire, motivate, and line manage team members and foster a team culture that ensures psychological safety and reflects our values.
- Quality assure and provide expert input into the work of consultants in the team as appropriate.
- Drive our evolution in this risk domain from a service-focussed workstream to an impact-driven programme, including:
- Build strategic relationships with hubs, hotlines, networks, and other key nodes in the protection ecosystem, particularly across the global majority.
- Produce tools, guides, and trainings on key digital and information security issues of concern to activists and organisations at risk.
- Raise Open Briefing’s profile in the digital rights and tech communities by representing the organisation externally, including at conferences and events and within relevant civil society networks.
Champion our own digital and information security
- Maintain an up-to-date registry of our valuable and sensitive information assets and the technical and organisational measures in place to protect them.
- Define, prioritise, and implement additional technical and organisational measures to better protect each of our valuable and sensitive information assets.
- Continuously improve the digital hygiene of our team members and the security of our devices, accounts, communications, and website by introducing additional general measures, including device management and regular digital security training.
- Coordinate our response to any data breach or security incident involving our information assets, devices, accounts, communications, or website.
Drive tech transformation in our organisation
- Act as a catalyst for change and drive tech transformation as a strategic enabler of our growth and scale.

Essential

We are looking for a creative, data-driven and results orientated Digital Fundraising Officer to help us grow our income and supporter base through engaging and innovative digital campaigns. This position is based remotely, although you will be required to attend the charity’s head office located in Norfolk a minimum of 6 times per year and this will be at your own expense for travel and accommodation. Role Purpose
You will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with hyperlocal, local, and national businesses, stewarding the organisations to become Mustard Tree’s partners, and for us to be their ‘Charity of the Year’, donating to and fundraising for the charity.
You will manage an existing caseload of these valued partners, with the opportunity to proactively create new relationships and partnerships, contacting through multiple channels, creating content, and hosting, touring, and presenting to businesses.
In addition to corporate partnerships, you will manage the recruitment and stewardship of Mustard Tree’s events fundraisers, being responsible for the administration, making sure all places are filled, planning the events, and helping all participants hit their fundraising targets.
Main Duties
Corporate Partnership
- Steward a cohort of existing Corporate Partners through email updates, calls, social media activity and booking monthly check-ins, as well as sharing infographics, case studies, events information, and newsletters when useful.
- Proactively build new relationships, ultimately securing new donors, partners, and ‘Charity of the Year’ organisations. Make it clear and easy for donors to understand what we do, how they can help, and the impact they will have.
- Host, tour, or present at a minimum of four organisations per week.
- Manage inquiries, emails, and queries relating to partnerships, corporate donations, volunteering, and events, ensuring timely responses.
- Manage the partnership inbox and work with the Fundraising team on our corporate bookings calendar.
- Work with the Fundraising and Volunteer Coordinator to plan and book Social Value Days for partners and prospective partners.
- Collaborate with the Fundraising and Communications team to develop and publish copy, advertisements, social media content, and create WordPress pages relevant to Corporate Partnership and Events.

About the role and Wen’s Climate Sisters Programme
The Climate Sisters project aims to make systemic change by amplifying underrepresented marginalised and racialised women's voices in climate justice debates and in the transition to a low-carbon economy. This 5 year project aims to engage women from Manchester & the North West through a participatory climate leadership programme.
The project involves two phases. Phase One comprises a Feminist Climate Leadership programme series where groups of women collectively explore their priorities for climate justice at individual, local, regional, national and international levels. Phase Two involves participants developing creative projects to showcase the ideas and solutions from the combined cohort from the Phase One programme, working collaboratively with regular support sessions.
The aim of this programme is to amplify and centre the voices of the underrepresented and marginalised women specifically in the climate arena. The approach to this will be underpinned by values that challenge patriarchy, colonialism and white supremacy, ableism and uphold care, collectivity, collaboration and non-competitive sisterhood.
The Climate Sisters Coordinator will facilitate the delivery of a feminist climate leadership programme and a participatory, impactful and co-produced project, working closely with participants, community partners, wider networks and the Climate Sisters Programme Manager.
You will be part of a small team within Wen and will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of the Climate Sisters programme and sharing learning and impact internally and with outside audiences. Job purpose
The Clinical Lead will play a pivotal role in leading and developing Action for ME’s Healthcare Services with the Operations Director, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care for individuals affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). The postholder will be responsible for clinical oversight, service development, and leadership, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance outcomes for children and adults with ME and will be the CQC Registered Manager for the service.
At present, the Healthcare Services is a small team with two doctors (GPs) and two physios. Our counsellors are overseen by a Counselling Lead Supervisor and our multi-faith Chaplains are supported by our Lead Chaplain.
We are keen to develop and expand our services, building on the small amount of spot purchasing from local commissioning boards and exploring a diagnosing and prescribing offer. The Ideal Candidate will need:
- Recognised Graphic Design qualification to degree level or equivalent.
- A strong working knowledge and experience working on successful Direct Marketing campaigns to drive income and response and the whole end to end design processes and the printing process.
- Minimum of six years professional design experience in busy studio environment – working as part of a creative team in an agency or in-house.
- Ideally, experience of working in a direct marketing creative team
- Working in an Apple Mac environment, with a minimum of six years hands-on experience of the industry standard packages – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, After Effects and Premier Pro.
- Managing projects from exploring the full potential of each brief through the creative process to completion including post project evaluation.
- Excellent working knowledge of Adobe CC as well as Microsoft Office
- Able to handle a number of projects at a time and to project manage multiple projects to deadline and budget, at any given time.

You will need to efficiently and effectively project manage creative briefs from concept through to completion for a wide range of online and offline assets. It will include leading on direct mail appeals, within agreed budgets and timescales, and ensure work meets agreed quality, budget and client service standards. Interpret stakeholder briefs into meaningful creative executions using exploratory evaluation through meetings or workshops. You will need to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop concepts and / or options. Deliver and create visual assets across online and offline platforms.

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead a driven team of Volunteering Partners. The Volunteering Partnerships and Implementation team strive to inspire, support and enable a quality offer and experience for volunteers and volunteer managers. Through working directly with the Dementia Support and Partnerships directorate (who deliver our services), you will be making a difference to volunteers, volunteer managers and people affected by dementia.
You will be a trusted expert in volunteering, building relationships with senior managers and leaders by creating a structured approach to how we support the directorate in order to give the best possible volunteering experience. You will lead a team of Volunteering Partners and work collaboratively across the Volunteering team as well as with the People Partnering team to create ways of working, deliver projects, develop connections and ensure we provide a strategic and structured service to our stakeholders.
This home-based role really is a great combination – you will be an integral part of the Volunteering team and wider People Directorate as well as a key stakeholder and essential support for Dementia Support and Partnerships.
About you
We are looking for a motivated individual with experience as a trusted expert in volunteering who is able to listen, lead and engage their team as well as a range of stakeholders across the organisation.
Using deep volunteering expertise as well as any experience of voluntary income, the Senior Volunteering Partner will be skilled at building trust through meaningful relationships with senior managers and leaders.
You will bring your interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively across Volunteering, People Partnering and Dementia Support and Partnerships whilst utilising your data, insight and project management skills to bring about continuous improvement and change.
What you’ll focus on:
- Line management of 3 Volunteering Partners
- Leading the creation of a planned and coordinated approach to how we work with Dementia Support and Partnerships.
- Leading on the development of short-term and long-term plans to embed how volunteering is part of changes in contracts in partnership with other key stakeholders.
- Working closely with the People Partnering team building close communication and relationships to ensure support and alignment across our teams and the directorates we support.
- To lead on volunteering business elements that drive volunteer involvement, ensure compliance, support innovation and assure continuous quality improvement.
