• To provide support and assistance during journeyspick up and drop of duties at the commencement and end of sessions at our day centres.

• Through partnership, support and develop peoples skills, confidence and interests as part of a multi-disciplinary day service offer.

• To ensure compliance with and the delivery of the charity policies and procedures particularly those related to safeguarding, inclusion and disability discrimination.

About the role

As the PR and Communications Officer, you will support the Senior PR and Communications Officer to raise awareness of the Charity by identifying and promoting compelling stories to regional and national media. Working closely with colleagues across PR and Communications, clinical teams, Fundraising, Marketing and Digital, you will help to showcase the Charity’s impact on people affected by cancer in the UK and around the world, while supporting fundraising activity across all income streams.

With support  you will use your communications skills and expertise, to write content for relevant in‑house magazine titles andhelp promote community fundraising and major donor events, corporate partnerships, and fundraising campaigns.

What you’ll be doing  

• Supporting a comprehensive media service which includes the proactive sell in of positive stories.
• Building relationships with clinical colleagues and in particular, Charity-funded consultants, nurses, researchers, and allied health professionals to gain their support for Charity communications including press releases, tailored pitches, other print media channels and the Charity's magazine.
• With support, write and edit the Charity’s supporter magazine, Progress, in collaboration with the Charity’s leadership team and fundraising colleagues.
• Working with fundraising teams to identify unique and inspiring stories associated with the Charity’s annual calendar of events and campaigns.

About you

You’ll be an exceptional team player with:

• Relevant media relations and/or communications experience
• Proven track record of delivering compelling copy, in the right tone and to deadline.
• Strong interpersonal skills - the ability to build effective and productive relationships with colleagues and case studies.

•To manage a team of specialist support services and partners supporting key aspects of the HyPE scheme

Programme Delivery & Coordination

•Oversee and coordinate weekly HyPE Job Club and associated green-skills and personal developmental activities delivered at New City College and community venues.

•Coordinate and oversee our experienced free-lance delivery team and ensure they are contracted, supported and empowered to lead daily sessions

• Building positive relationships with corporate donors through written and verbal communications, including email, telephone and Teams meetings/in-person visits where appropriate. 
• Co-ordinating deliveries of gifts from corporates to local Family Action services/projects, ensuring needs and requirements of both parties are met.

About the Role

The Supervising Solicitor for Community Care – Legal Aid is a key role in shaping and strengthening Release’s legal services. Working closely with the Joint Head of Legal Services and Executive Director, and in collaboration with other colleagues, you will supervise the delivery of high-quality legal advice and representation, supporting the growth of legal aid practice whilst ensuring Release continues to train and develop social justice lawyers for the future. 

We are looking for an experienced legal aid practitioner who is strongly committed to social justice and the legal rights of marginalised communities, and who wants to build leadership experience in a movement-led organisation. The role will combine hands-on practice, leadership, supervision and compliance responsibilities. 

Please note: We do not expect the postholder to generate legal aid income at a multiple of their salary. While we do aim to grow legal aid income across the team to an initial target of £15,000–£25,000 per annum, the focus of this role is on developing high‑quality legal aid practice and building sustainable income collectively, as part of a mixed‑income organisational model.

As Supervising Solicitor for Community Care – Legal Aid, you will:

• Support Strategic Development: Contribute to developing the direction and priorities of Release’s legal services, including expanding legal aid work and strengthening access to justice.

We are looking to recruit two Funding Officers (one permanent and one FTC until March 2027) to join the London, Southeast and East Team (LSE&E), within the Strategy, Learning Partnerships team (SLP). You’ll be part of a team, led by a Funding Manager and comprised of several other Funding Officers.

The LSE&E team is headed up by a Senior Head of Regional Funding, together with regional leads. There are 5 local patches for the South East and East and 3 local patches for London.

The SLP team purpose is to:

• Enable and lead grant making across geographical boundaries within the LSE&E region & across England
• Ensure intentional and responsive grant making responds to sector needs, is impactful, focused and mission aligned
• Build evidence & drive continuous learning and impact in the mission areas and our equity-based approach
• Provide regional leadership for external engagement, partnerships & funder collaborations & lead and / or support project teams across LSE&E and share best practice

SLP does this through:

• Supporting LSE&E regional strategy, grant making and learning

• Unlike other LSE&E patch-based Funding Officers, SLP has a uniquely collaborative function, working together with local patches, the region as a whole and across England. Therefore the Funding Officers for SLP must have a strategic, flexible and collaborative approach.

Your role:

• In Responsive Grant making, you will support the pipeline of ideas across two or more LSE&E local patches, assessing by The Fund's priorities and missions and using understanding of regional priorities.
   
• Using regional priorities and new IMD data, you will be horizon scanning opportunities for intentional external engagement and contribute to the LSE&E Regional Funding Plans.
   
• You will support strategic funding England Wide and exploring potential partnerships. You may support the region with Funding Mechanisms that will enable flexible grant making.
   
• You will support SLP to drive continuous learning within the LSE&E region and to implement high quality and relevant learning & events that meet the strategic objectives of the region.

Philanthropy Officer

The Role
