Senior Development Officer
Leeds City Centre, West Yorkshire (with some travel to Bradford)

Leeds Community Foundation supports thousands of charities and voluntary groups across Leeds and Bradford, addressing inequalities and working together to support those that need help the most.

We have distributed over £42 million in grants to date across Leeds and Bradford, enabling positive change in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in our communities.

We’re now looking for a Senior Development Officer to join us and drive income generation from private individuals and corporate relationships, enabling us to do even more for the people of Leeds and Bradford.

The Role

As our Senior Development Officer, you will generate income through private and corporate relationships in Leeds and Bradford. 

A key aspect of your role will involve recruiting and stewarding supporters of the 100 Club, our popular supporters’ scheme for individuals and businesses who, like us, are motivated to make a difference in Leeds and Bradford. By investing in the 100 Club, supporters enable the Foundation to become increasingly resilient.

You will also secure sponsorship, support the generation and account management of corporate funds, and nurture and increase our network of decision-makers and influencers. Above all, you’ll act as an advocate for the Foundation and our work. 

About You 

To join us as our Senior Development Officer, you will need: 

- At least two years’ experience in a similar role 
- Experience of sales and negotiation in a fundraising and/or development environment 
- Great networking skills, including the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders 

You will also need experience in one or more of these areas:

- Working on a membership scheme, including recruitment, administration and retention 
- Stewardship of existing donors 
- Soliciting and securing large funds from High Net Worth (HNW) individuals and/or private sector companies

We’d like to hear from you if you’ve worked as a Fundraiser, Fundraising & Development Officer, Fundraising Executive, Corporate Fundraising Officer, High Net Worth Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Co-ordinator, Corporate Fundraising Executive, or Corporate Partnerships Officer.

This is a full time role, working 35 hours per week, usually Monday – Friday between 9:00 – 17:00. You may occasionally be required to work outside normal office hours for events and functions – time off in lieu will be given where excessive out of hours working is required.
