Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) Support Volunteer

People in care homes should have a voice to communicate their needs wishes and wants. Some people need support with this, but don’t have friends and family available to assist them.  This means they’re entitled to have support from an RPR and volunteer, who are there to make sure they get the care they deserve.  Your role as an RPR Support Volunteer is to collaborate with the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care.

As an RPR Support Volunteer you might:

· Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support

· Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes

· Raise concerns

· Keep detailed notes and records

· Make a real difference to someone’s life

Graphic Designer:

We are seeking a talented and creative volunteer to join our team as a Graphic Designer. This is a one off or regular volunteer role and is crucial in designing a variety of urgent and important items such as social media posts and motion graphics, volunteer booklet, branded documents like recruitment packs, participant forms, training manuals, internal posters (e.g., safeguarding and values), and much more. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design visually appealing and brand-consistent graphics for social media posts and other digital platforms.
• Create a comprehensive guide booklet on Unlock YOUR Potential.
• Develop branded documents including recruitment packs, participants forms, training manuals, and internal posters.
• Collaborate with the team to understand design requirements and deliver high-quality visuals.
• Ensure all designs align with our mission and values, effectively communicating our message to the community.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in graphic design, preferably in the non-profit sector but not essential.

We’re here to give advice, support and financial help to UK bank workers past and present, and their families.

What will you be doing?

Bank Workers Charity is here to support past and present bank workers and their families across the UK. We help people facing challenges with their health and wellbeing, relationships, money and work – offering practical support, guidance and financial assistance when it’s needed most.

We’ve been here for the banking community for over 140 years. As demand for our services grows, we’re looking for two new Trustees to help shape our work and reach more of the people who need us.

We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in one of the following areas:

• A senior role within a bank, managing a business unit and demonstrating strong commercial and people skills
• A senior role within a charity, ideally with knowledge of poverty relief, social provision or impact measurement

You don’t need to have been a Trustee before. We offer a full induction, ongoing support and a buddy system to help you settle in.

Our Board includes 13 Trustees, who serve on one of our committees: Audit and Risk, Finance and Investments, or People. We meet quarterly, usually during working hours, both in person and online. The time commitment is around 12 hours per quarter.

We’re committed to making sure our Board reflects a wide range of experiences and perspectives, and we welcome applications from all backgrounds. These are voluntary, unpaid positions, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. All applicants are subject to DBS checks. 

What are we looking for?

• A broad understanding of the health and wellbeing issues facing the banking community – andthe role organisations like Bank Workers Charity can play in providing support 

• Familiarity with the principles of good governance, including the respective roles of the Boardand Executive, and how they can work effectively together 

• Experience of managing a business unit at a senior level within a bank/experience gained at a senior level in a charity, ideally with strong knowledge of poverty relief,social provision and/or impact measurement 

• Previous experience on a Board or other governing body is desirable, but not essential 

• Strategically minded, with the ability to focus on key organisational priorities and long-termeffectiveness 

• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills 

• Genuinely committed to equality, diversity and inclusion – and confident applying thatcommitment in a Trustee role

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role – you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example:

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 
• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations
• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press
• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork
• championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

Oxfam's Porthmadog Shop is looking for Shop Volunteers to help Oxfam’s fight to support the world’s most vulnerable communities.

VOLUNTEER WITH CHILDREN

Looking for a fun volunteering opportunity that fits around your other commitments? Want to help some of our most vulnerable children and inspire them towards better, brighter things? For some children in care, most adults in their lives are social workers or other paid professionals. Develop and implement effective content and communications to engage and grow Mast Cell Action’s impact across the UK. Main responsibilities include management of website content, design and development of social media content and plans, as well as executing corporate communication strategy.

We are looking to recruit a Finance Volunteer for our Telford and District Group. As a Finance Volunteer, you would be joining a coordinating team of volunteers to plan and deliver services and activities to support people locally.

You will maintain and approve income and expenditure records and explain financial information clearly to other group members. You would ensure our financial requirements and policies are followed, and that money is spent in a cost effective manner.
