Job Purpose
Lead and develop the charity’s HR and Volunteering functions (People) to foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment, in line with the organisation’s values and EDI objectives

Key Tasks

Leadership

• Work with the People Sub-Committee (PSC) and SMT to develop and implement organisational people strategies and plans to support the delivery of our organisational strategy for older people.
• Have responsibility for our progress against these plans; measure and report this to PSC and SMT, including by administering our annual people survey, volunteer survey and trustee survey. Identify areas that require improvement and make recommendations for change.

People management

• Oversee People-related policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practices.
• Support the development and implementation of Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives.
• Provide support and guidance to those in line management roles within the organisation including on performance management issues and processes.
• Provide line management and support to the Community and Volunteer Manager, ensuring 6 their work aligns with organisational priorities.
• Manage complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and change management.

Administration

• Ensure all employee compliance requirements are met, including DBS checks, right to work documentation, and up-to-date staff records.
• Work with the DFO to ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll processing)

Quality

• Ensure that AUKEL’s People policies and procedure are in compliance with the Charity Quality Standard.
• Strive for excellence through the people in the organisation.

Liaison

• To participate to the National Age UK HR network to exchange insight and learn good practice.
• To liaise with our Solicitor team to ensure compliance when managing complex cases.
• To represent AUKEL and participate in appropriate external meetings and events in order to remain aware of local, regional and national issues affecting quality and compliance issues affecting charitable companies.
• To attend relevant HR/ Employment Law seminars or work groups as the AUKEL HR ambassador.

General

• To meet regularly with the CEO for support, supervision and appraisal.
• To attend team and staff meetings, as required.
• To undertake any other duties within the competence of the post holder as may be required
from time to time for the continued smooth running of Age UK East London.

• Significant experience of a Generalist HR role including managing employee relations in compliance with UK employment law.

The Role

Reporting to the Youth Work Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality youth work for young people aged 9–18. You will lead engaging sessions, support and supervise sessional youth workers, and contribute to the growth and development of One YMCA’s youth work offer in line with the YMCA Youth Work Strategy.

This is a hands-on role combining direct youth work, team support, and partnership engagement. You will help ensure young people feel safe, included, and empowered to reach their full potential.

• Plan, deliver and evaluate inclusive youth work sessions for young people aged 9–18

We are looking for a Community Leader Programme Support Worker who will focus on engaging existing members of SLRA’s Community Leaders Programme and encouraging new members to join, through one-to-ones and grouplistening sessions. • Proficient in advanced Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, array formulas, handling large datasets (100k rows), building reports from scratch with charts, and ideally experience with Macros, VBA, and Power Query for automation.
• Awareness of payment processes, invoice management, and reconciliation.
• Ability to analyse and manipulate data, and present clear, concise reports.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and prioritisation skills.

Marauders Men's Health is a dynamic, South Wales-based charity dedicated to improving the health, wellbeing, and mental fitness of men through connection and support. We are the community where men can walk, talk, and grow together, underpinned by the Five Ways to Wellbeing model (Connect, Be Active, Give, Take Notice, Learn).

We have established strong foundations, including secured funding from the Big Lottery Community Fund over three years, a full Board of Trustees, and a growing programme of 8 events each week, including Walk & Talks and Sports Hubs. We are seeking an inspiring leader to drive our ambitious strategy to engage 7,000 men and provide 330 Personal Wellbeing Plans over the next three years.

Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, this crucial role is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operational delivery of the charity. JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

· Lead the day-to-day running and strategic direction of the charity in line with the Board’s vision.

· Develop, manage, and oversee the charity's resources and workstreams.

· Ensure governance, compliance, and policies/procedures remain in good shape.

· Support the Board with fundraising strategy and financial accountability, including financial forecasting and reporting to funders.

2. Programme Management & Delivery

· Directly manage the Programme & Projects Manager and the Regional Event Leaders, and assist in the recruitment process for the newly established Volunteering Co-ordinator and the Wellbeing Coach/Coordinator roles. 

· Drive the delivery and expansion of our core programmes, including the Physical Activities (Walk & Talks, Sports Hubs), Volunteer Engagement, Community Partnerships and the Personal Wellbeing Plans (PWP)18.

· Develop and implement the Marauders Pathway Programme to establish a culture of good citizenship and peer support.

3. People & Volunteer Management

· Provide leadership, support, and development for staff, managing issues such as payroll, sickness, and holidays.

· Oversee the Volunteer Co-ordinator to develop a comprehensive volunteer management process, including recruitment, training, and 'Reward & Recognition’.

· Help inspire 100 men to give back to the community through volunteering.

4. Partnerships & IT Development

· Maintain and forge new community partnerships (e.g. with voluntary organisations, NGO’s, other charities and social enterprises) to enhance volunteering, education, and wellbeing services.

· Spearhead the development of our IT Platform, focusing on a robust website and a Beneficiary Management System (CRM) for efficient reporting, data capture, and engagement.

· Oversee digital marketing and communications, including newsletters and social media content.

About the Role

You will co-ordinate and deliver a statutory independent visitor service to children and young people in care or care leavers of London.

You will recruit, assess and train volunteers to become independent visitors, who are volunteer befrienders to children and young people looked after or care leavers. You will manage a cash flow to fund suitable activities for independent visitors to enjoy with the young person. You will manage data and reporting for this statutory service so that service leads and other stakeholders can understand the activity in the service.

We are a child led service, you will not act outside of the young person’s instructions (except in matters of child protection and safety.)  You will build strong relationships with the child or young person, independent visitors and other significant adults, you will support Independent Visitors to develop long term, meaningful friendships with the young person.

An exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of a growing adult literacy charity as it expands across North England

One in 20 adults in the UK has never learnt to read at all. This can have a serious impact on their confidence and wellbeing, limiting access to training, employment, and everyday opportunities that many take for granted. Being unable to read as an adult can be isolating and dangerous, reinforces social inequality, restricts economic growth, and worsens intergenerational disadvantage - but it is never too late to learn.

Read Easy helps adults transform their lives by learning to read. It does this by supporting its growing network of locally run, volunteer-led affiliated groups that offer free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching—both in person and online to adults - aged from 18-88. 

With its free, flexible, confidential approach, Read Easy encourages people who are too embarrassed to join a class to come forward for one-to-one support. Each new reader is provided with their own personal Reading Coach, so that they can learn in private and at their own pace. Learning to read transforms their lives in many other ways as well, including enabling them to support their children’s and grandchildren’s reading, and so transfers the benefits to the next generation.

There are currently 80 affiliated Read Easy groups across England, together involving more than a thousand volunteers. Read Easy UK is the registered charity and umbrella organisation which supports this network of affiliated volunteer groups and provides the structure, training and support to enable volunteers to establish groups in new areas.

As our North Regional Adviser, your role would be to provide strategic leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure that all volunteer groups in your region consistently deliver high-quality services aligned with Read Easy UK’s strategy.

You will support local volunteer leaders to strengthen group performance, and foster collaboration across affiliated groups, so that that they deliver coaching to Readers with consistent quality, and a positive and worthwhile experience is had by all.

You will also find volunteers to ‘pioneer’ four new groups in the counties where there is no Read Easy presence and provide them and our 17 existing groups and pioneers in the region, with high-quality support. Your quality support will ensure that they provide the same for their volunteers and new Readers. From meeting (mostly online) with Team Leaders to provide one to one support, and hosting online and annual in-person volunteer forums, to delivering presentations and occasional training for small groups of volunteers, this is a dynamic and rewarding role.

This is a home-based post requiring flexibility, some early evening working and occasional travel to visit groups. The role is available on a part time basis (22.5 hours p/w, 60% of 37.5 hours p/w FTE).

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Live within one of the following areas: York, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire or Greater Manchester (Due to the location of our groups in the region, and to ensure efficient travel);
• have been employed to work with volunteers for at least two years;

At our North West London Home, we are recruiting a Head of Kennels who will share our compassion and commitment for animal welfare to provide front line leadership to our team of Kennel and Animal Care staff and volunteers. We care for up to fifteen dogs on site, in addition to dogs placed into foster homes. Our Head of Kennels is responsible for managing the day-to-day smooth running of our kennels and maintaining the wellbeing of all dogs in our care, so that their individual physical and psychological needs are catered for adequately, and in line with our standards and ethics.

This is a high profile and hugely important role for Mayhew as our Head of Kennels oversees each dog's journey through Mayhew from in-take to assessment and then to rehoming. Working with staff and volunteers across the Home, foster carers, adopters, other charities and rescues and members of the public, our Head of Kennels is instrumental in ensuring that our dogs have all they need - from feeding, exercising, cleaning, and socialising to finding their perfect forever home. You will be a pivotal member of the team and will be engaging daily with line managers and employees to support with wellbeing conversations and collaborate with the wider People team to provide a first-class wellbeing and Employee Relations service.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Duration: 12-months FTC

Location: London, hybrid - 2 days per week in London office (to include Wednesdays)

Salary: £40,682.16 per annum

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, the People Officer will respond and resolve queries in the UK through great conversations, relating to people management issues in areas such as well-being conversations, absence /performance management, staff exit interviews, flexible working request and fixed term contract meetings. The People Officer will provide professional employee relations support working closely with the ER specialists to ensure line managers deal effectively with people management issues through conversations. There will be a need to engage and guideline managers across MSF UK to ensure people issues are managed and resolved effectively, embedding our values and employment policies and principles into line management practices. In addition, the People Officer will contribute to the continuous improvement of MSF UK’s policies and processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• CIPD qualified.
• Demonstrable experience in Human Resources at Officer level in the UK, including a substantial amount and case work in a variety of processes.
• Demonstrable knowledge of current UK employment legislation.
• Ability and experience in navigating employee relations conversations – blending advice, listening, facilitation and mediation skills.
• Demonstrable experience of a proactive and inclusive approach to key aspects of staff related health and wellbeing provisions.
• Evidence of connecting effectively with key stakeholders and fostering a culture of health and wellbeing across the staff community.
• Demonstrable experience of organisational and prioritising skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously.

• Fluency in written and spoken English.

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on People and Culture Manager to oversee day-to-day HR operations and provide trusted support to managers across the organisation. Key responsibilities

Leadership & HR operations

· Take overall responsibility for the delivery of day-to-day HR services across the organisation.

Employee relations

· Act as the escalation point for ER matters including performance, absence, grievance and disciplinary cases.

Recruitment & onboarding

· Lead end‑to‑end recruitment for vacancies across the business.

· Partner with hiring managers to define roles, adverts and interview processes.

· Oversee onboarding to ensure a positive new starter experience, supported by the People Coordinator.

Payroll & benefits

· Oversee monthly payroll and pension processes ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.

· Work closely with Finance and the HR Coordinator on submissions and changes.

· Support review and administration of benefits.

Policies, systems & compliance

· Maintain and update HR policies in line with employment legislation.

· Ensure GDPR and confidentiality standards are met.

· Oversee HR data quality and reporting (with delivery handled by the HR Coordinator).

Culture, engagement & development

· Support initiatives that build engagement, wellbeing and retention.

· Coordinate learning and development priorities with managers.

· Contribute to workforce planning and organisational change projects.

We are recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to join a busy and creative team in Streatham. You will join an exciting team and collaborate to build a group of volunteers from all walks of life, raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. We are bold with a culture of continuous review and improvement, where we try new things, take risks, and sometimes fail. There will be numerous opportunities to improve our team’s effectiveness. Your voice will count!

We also work closely with local artists and universities. We’d love you to bring your own ideas, along with your experience of fashion, retail and current trends, to this role. You will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression through training and development – many of our shop managers were promoted internally. Ensuring our recruitment practices are as equitable as possible is our number one priority so we are looking for someone who advocates for others and challenges injustice.

You will be primarily based in the Streatham shop, but you may be required to travel to other shops within London 1 & 2 on a short-term basis.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have retail experience at a supervisory level alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be keen to build your people management skills including working with Crisis members. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates with an interest or background in visual merchandising, although this is not essential. You will be committed to Crisis’s values and mission to end homelessness.
