As a Field Experience Specialist, you will inspire and deepen supporter engagement through well-executed and impactful in-person and virtual trips to the field. From planning and communication to trip leadership and post-travel engagement, your work will help connect supporters more deeply to our mission.

Key Responsibilities
- Actively maintain and promote Compassion UK's Christian ethos and values.
- Coordinate and administrate in person and virtual group trips and individual sponsor visits to the field as well as leading group trips.
- Inspire, educate, guide and advise supporters regarding travel to the field in line with Compassion procedures and policies.

This exciting new role in our award-winning External Affairs Department will fight for the hospice sector and people who need their care and support.
This is a critical time for hospice and end of life care. Hospices across the UK are in the worst financial situation they have faced for 20 years. The funding crisis means hospices are cutting services and making redundancies.
But this is also a time of significant political opportunity. The Assisted Dying Bill has placed palliative care firmly on the agenda. We have recently secured £100m of emergency funding for the sector in England and the 10-year health plan has identified hospices as central to the shift from hospital to community.
To seize this once in a generation opportunity, we are expanding our UK-wide policy and public affairs team from six to eight, including a new Policy and Public Affairs Manager.
We are looking for a proactive and driven policy and public affairs professional with excellent influencing and communication skills. You will have your finger on the pulse and have strong policy and political knowledge that enables you to quickly understand and analyse the impact of external developments.
You will be curious about how best to improve people’s experiences of death, dying and bereavement and strengthen the contribution of the hospice sector to this. As well as collaborative and committed to building coalitions to maximise our impact.

Purpose
This vital Data Officer role will support the Data Team in maintaining and developing the supporter relationship database (Salesforce NPSP), providing high quality support to CBM UK staff. Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, you will be required to attend the Hatfield office once a week and monthly directorate meetings. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

This is an opportunity to lead an award winning communications team – Third Sector Communications Team of the Year in 2024 – that’s tasked with changing how we think about hospice, end of life and palliative care in the UK.
As the charity representing the UK’s 200+ hospices, we have secured ourselves a significant national platform in the past year or two, with regular, top-tier national media, and online campaigns which have forced the government to act.
With assisted dying legislation progressing across the UK, now is a critically important moment for the public – and for politicians – to better understand what hospice care is all about, and the challenges we face.
As part of our mission to promote and protect hospice care for all, it is critical that our communications team keeps it high on the agenda. We’ve built huge momentum – whether with regular national TV news coverage, a rapidly growing online supporter base, or though our recently overhauled brand. But we need a savvy, politically switched-on Head of Communications and Campaigns to keep that going, and to make it pay off.
Hospices are amongst our most loved community charities, and our job as the national charity for hospice care is to rally the public – as well as major donors like companies and trusts – to support these brilliant organisations.
You’ll need a strong eye for a story, and an integrated understanding of the full spectrum of communications, campaigns and marketing. You’ll likely be a specialist in one area – which is fine – but we want someone who can join the dots, spot the opportunities, and inspire a team of specialists.
Hospices are under huge pressure. Funding is tight, and demand is surging. This is your chance, in the coming years, to play a leading role in fighting for hospices to get the support they need – from government, from the media, and from the public.

About The Role
We are looking for a strategic and proactive Project Manager to lead our UK Free Farrowing project within our Food Business team. This pivotal role will help drive the transition from farrowing crates to free-farrowing systems for sows across the UK, working collaboratively with key stakeholders in the food industry, including retailers, producers, manufacturers, and assurance schemes.
As part of this vital role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive project strategy, establishing and managing a multi-stakeholder group, and producing practical guidance to support the adoption of free farrowing systems for sows.
The free farrowing project manager will also act as a pig expert within the UK food business team, providing technical support to the UK and wider food business team on pig welfare, and on other species as needed.
About You
This role requires a confident communicator and skilled project manager with good knowledge of pig welfare and/or of the pig sector, able to influence, coordinate, and inspire change across diverse audiences.
You’ll have experience leading multi-stakeholder projects from strategy to delivery, with excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills. Your background may be in the food industry, animal welfare, sustainability, or a related field, and you’ll be confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including producers, retailers, manufacturers, and government bodies.
You’ll be skilled at managing external relationships and facilitating collaboration, with a proven ability to build consensus and drive change. Strong communication skills are essential, enabling you to translate technical information into clear, practical guidance. You’ll also be comfortable representing Compassion in external settings and speaking with authority. You’ll need to be highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work both independently and as part of a team, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Our trained assessors carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential causes of falls and hazards in the home and can arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other necessary aids to be supplied and/or fitted, free of charge. The project can provide ongoing telephone support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls post engagement.

We can't take everyone to the mission field to experience what God is doing, the next best things is to give them materials which tell the story, and challenge them to think about others. You and the team will be helping that happen by sending people our mission minded materials and books.

Our fifth Core Value is "Being A People Committed To Prayer And Worship", and GFA World started with a Tuesday Night Prayer Meeting. It is fueled by prayer, and would die out without it.
