You will need to be able to travel to home visits within, and occasionally outside of area, and therefore a driving license and use of a car are essential. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

About us: 

The Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London (RAMFEL) is one of the largest immigration and asylum advice charities in the UK, supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to access justice. An OISC level 3 accredited organisation, we represent clients at all stages of the immigration and asylum process, up to and including the Upper Tribunal of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber.

We also actively campaign for a fairer and more humane immigration system. RAMFEL caseworkers therefore have the opportunity to work on systemic and strategic challenges and support broader advocacy work.

We particularly welcome and encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals, and those who are migrants or refugees, and who have lived experience of the impact of UK immigration policy and/or of rough sleeping.

Purpose of the role: 

The purpose of the role is to assist some of the most vulnerable people in our society. The focus of the legal work is on non-legal aid funded matters, supporting people who otherwise have no access to legal advice and support. There will be particular focus on working with people who are facing a crisis, providing legal representation and support that will take them out of destitution.

Contract duration: Fixed term until 31 March 2025

Hours of work: The role is primarily a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week. However, for the right candidate, we may consider accommodating part-time working hours. Specific Responsibilities

Case management 

1. Manage own caseload, working to advance the best interests of the client
2. Adhere to standards set out by OISC/SRA and AQS to deliver high-quality advice
3. Provide representation and advice up to OISC level 2/3.
4. Engage with the Line Manager to create and follow a training plan to ensure compliance with OISC CPD, keeping up to date with changes in law, policy and guidance to ensure clients receive accurate and high-quality advice
5. Liaise directly with the UKVI and related governmental agencies
6. Complete forms, letters and immigration applications
7. Liaise with and refer clients to Legal Aid Solicitors or other advisers, as appropriate
8. Manage clients’ expectations by discussing deadlines, outcomes and timing 
9. Deliver legal advice outreach surgeries/drop in as and when required 
10. Progress cases in a timely manner in line with regulatory requirements.
11. Implement organisational priorities into day-to-day casework.

Person Specification 

Education/qualifications

• Ideally candidates must be Solicitors with IAAS Level 2 with at least 1-year immigration experience or OISC level 2/3 qualified
• If OISC level 1, the candidate will be expected to initially work under supervision completing level 2 work and qualifying at level 2 within 6 months. (Training is provided and study leave is accommodated.) Upon obtaining a higher level of accreditation, the candidate’s salary will increase in line with RAMFEL pay scales.
• IAAS level 2 caseworkers (non-solicitor) will be considered but if appointed must be prepared to work under supervision and qualify at level 1 within 6 months. Experience/knowledge

•  Experience in providing high-quality advice and representation to clients

Debt Advice Case Manager

About the Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.

The organisation’s mission is to ‘Restore Dignity and Renew Hope’ to those in our communities brought down by poverty and debt. The job holder will play their part in bringing this vision to reality, supporting clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations, to get back on their feet and realise their full potential.

The role combines both technical and pastoral elements. The role will involve building a client case, untangling sometimes complex situations, liaising with creditors, providing guidance for volunteers, and discerning and communicating the appropriate choices and strategies for the client. But you will also need to lead client appointments and support clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations.

About you:

We are looking for someone with prior debt advice experience who ideally has experience in leading and supervising volunteers.

Essential skills and experience of the Case Manager include:

• Previous experience in providing regulated debt advice on a case management basis
• Being a DRO intermediary would be an advantage
• Demonstrable experience in providing person-focused support to clients who may be vulnerable
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to show empathy, compassion and patience
• Sound IT skills with a strong command of the Microsoft Office suite

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Service Manager (known internally as Project Leader) to lead the Anti-Social Behaviour Service team in Devon and Cornwall, working 37.5 hours a week.

Position: 5547 Specialist Service Manager (Project Leader)

Location: Homebased (Devon/Cornwall)

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours. Monday- Friday

Contract: Fixed Term until the 31st May 2025

Salary: £29,930 per annum (FTE £29,580 per annum plus £350 per annum Homeworking Allowance)

The Role

As a Project Lead for the ASB team you will be:

• Managing a small team of ASB caseworkers including performance management, monitoring and support
• Responsible for allocating cases within the team and analysing statistics and data in order to monitor daily caseloads against resources and look for trends/ pattern of behaviour
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure delivery of the business plan and associated outcomes
• Responsible for capturing data and information to ensure the work of the team is outcome based and evidenced
• The subject matter expert for ASB within the service
• With key partners, developing mechanisms for identifying and referring those affected by ongoing and persistent ASB incidents and crimes, including those not engaged in criminal or civil law processes
• Completing DSO training to prioritise the safety of service users and ensure compliance with safeguarding policy
• Leading on delivery of training to local agencies, organisations and bodies to represent the service and increase knowledge and understanding of issues related to the ASB
• Contributing to and attending monitoring meetings with funders/commissioners and providing reporting when required
• Playing a lead role in developing VS’s ASB work at both local and national levels
• When the service requires, holding a small caseload providing high quality support to service users in line with VS policies and operating procedures.

The role is home-based within Devon and Cornwall and therefore is open to applicants who both live in this area and have access to an appropriately confidential space in which to work.  Regular travel within working hours will be expected across Devon and Cornwall to fulfil the role and travel expenses are paid.  Core service hours are between 9am – 5pm, with the expectation to flex to need where required, managed within flexible working arrangements.

About You

You will need:

• As this role involves regular travel across Devon and Cornwall and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement
• Experience of managing a team
• An understanding of confidentiality and safe working practice in accordance with safeguarding legislation, General Data Protection Regulation and other legal requirements
• Experience of effective delivery of services in the voluntary or statutory sector including complex case management and maintaining case management records
• The ability to build effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders and work directly with in statutory, voluntary or multi agency settings
• High personal resilience to manage demands of working with ASB
• Competent IT and administrative skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages
• The ability to engage with vulnerable service users.

Rahab Project UK is a small charity which is part of a wider global organisation that works towards seeing the lives of at risk and vulnerable women affected by prostitution and trafficking transformed. We support those who are sexually exploited with unconditional acceptance, compassion and dignity to rebuild their lives and achieve their own identity and freedom. We provide learning and development opportunities for women to engage in and offer a supportive and on-judgemental environment as they explore ways and takes steps forward in self-determining their futures.

We are a dedicated team of professionals, facilitating casework support, counselling, wellbeing and learning. As a Rahab team member you will play an essential role in developing and steering our continued growth, but more importantly you will be play a part in the transformative journeys of our beneficiaries and their recovery from exploitation and abuse.

Overall Purpose: The Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of Rahab's projects. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

Service delivery

• Ensure that all aspects of Rahab’s project activities are planned, organized and undertaken to fulfil their objectives within their required timelines.

• Develop, organize, and maintain project documentation, plans, reports, and other project-related documents to monitor and track overall progress, outputs and achievement of milestones.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate project risks, delays and issues to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.

• Monitor project progress with team members and task as required. 

• Contribute to the development of funding applications in coordination with Rahab’s Fundraiser. 

• Support Rahab team with volunteer recruitment and training. 

• Undertake project tasks as required including supporting the team with outreach when necessary. 

• Provide administrative support such as minuting weekly team update meetings and setting up relevant meetings with external organisations. 

Data collection, record keeping, monitoring & reporting. 

• Maintain accurate data and records that capture and analyse information to (i) inform planning and delivery of casework support; (ii) monitor and evaluate wider project outcomes, (iii) to contribute data for future long-term evaluation of casework approach efficacy. 

• Produce accurate quarterly management reports. 

• Produce timely donor reports for funders within respective deadlines. 

• Facilitate a review of project progress for Rahab team at monthly update team meetings, to support project monitoring and tasking. 
   

Service development

Priority stakeholder relationships 

• Participate in and contribute to collaborative working arrangements, alongside Rahab Manager, in key stakeholder work - SI MARAC (Sex Industry Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) - with Local Authority, Metropolitan Police and Voluntary and Community sector.

• Participation at monthly SI MARAC meetings, ensuring that the work of the group is effectively joined up with wider groups and meetings focussed on addressing risk and harm.

• Support Rahab’s Senior Caseworker where necessary to ensure SI MARAC outcomes are effectively linked up with Rahab's outreach activities, and work-with Rahab’s Project Manager to ensure team members are kept informed about SI MARAC developments. 

• Work with the team to identify and engage in new professional relationships with key organisations across different sectors, and maintain our existing networks of contacts, to (i) develop and expand Rahab’s activities and reach, and (ii) foster collaboration. 

• Represent Rahab in multi-agency working groups, meetings, and forums, sharing knowledge and learning, publicising services available and how to access support. 

Beneficiary co-production 

• Work with Manager to start developing a framework and mechanism for gathering feedback from beneficiaries to evaluate the support they are receiving. 

• Work with the team to identify opportunities for our beneficiaries’ active participation in the project in ways that are safe and empowering. 

Shared learning 

• Participate in team development and learning in relation to best practice interventions and our casework delivery for beneficiaries. 
   

Continued professional development 

• Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidance, and best practice. 

• Within budgetary constraints, attend training and other events to help maintain proficiency and build a network of support amongst peers. 
   

Variation clause 

Rahab reserves the right, following full and reasonable consultation with the post holder, to vary, add or alter the terms and conditions of employment. 
 

Flexibility clause 

To deliver services effectively a degree of flexibility is required, and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically outlined above and/or outside of specified working hours. Overtime will not be paid; however, TOIL will be accrued for hours worked and staff supported to take that time. This post includes occasional evening work.
