We’re looking for two, mutually-supporting, Finance Business Partners to join our Finance team at Woodgreen, where their insight and initiative will help shape the future of our charity in these newly created positions.

Our successful candidates will individually and collectively contribute to the effective financial management of Woodgreen Pets Charity and its trading subsidiary, Wood Green Enterprises Limited (“WGEL”).  They will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and senior leaders to provide expert financial guidance, insight, challenge, and assurance across a wide range of financial management, planning and analysis activities.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, but working independently within the charity and often with minimal supervision, you will be confident using your own initiative to identify opportunities, risks, and solutions.  You will provide actionable insights for budget holders, whilst maintaining rigorous attention to the provision of accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and robust audit-ready record keeping.  You will:

• Build trust with decision makers and budget holders so that Finance Business Partner analysis, advice and guidance is actively sought and adds value in generating desired business outcomes.
• Provide insightful financial analysis, promoting commercial and risk awareness to inform decision making, providing constructive challenge and ensuring that financial governance, control and alignment to Woodgreen’s strategic plans is maintained.
• Be highly visible and engage early in supporting projects and leading them where required.  This will include the development of the financial aspects of business cases, particularly the financial aspects which ensure that business cases are of a consistent high quality and are robust and accurate.

The two roles will be equivalent, offering similar opportunities and challenges, but will be responsible for different areas of the charity’s work.  One role will partner with budget holders in the Income and Engagement Directorate, which includes responsibilities for regular audits of Woodgreen’s retail estate and may involve some regional travel.  The second role will partner with budget holders in the Pet and Corporate Services directorates, plus the CEO as the lead director for WGEL.

If you have:

• a detailed understanding of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, IF statements, and other advanced functions;
• the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data and understand complex interdependencies;
• strong influencing, communication and negotiating skills;
• a strategic mindset;
• are emotionally intelligent, can see the bigger picture, and consider the human impact behind the numbers;
• have an awareness of the current financial and economic environment affecting the charity sector.

And are a qualified member of CIMA or a CCAB, or qualified by substantial experience in an equivalent Finance Business Partner role with demonstrable evidence of ongoing relevant Continuous Professional Development.

These are full time, permanent, hybrid positions with the expectation that the successful applicants will work approximately 1 day a week from our Godmanchester site.  As our Finance Business Partner, Income and Engagement will also be required to travel to our retail shops approximately 1 – 2 times a month a full driving licence will be essential for this role.

The role will also provide a critical role in the implementation and delivery of Emmaus UK’s ambitious plans to seek registration as a provider of social housing. As the Federation Development Lead, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and development of the Emmaus movement within the UK, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the overall success of the federation. The Role 

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Onboarding Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in welcoming and guiding new groups to join the FareShare Go programme. This role will be  the main point of contact for new charities during their first 6 weeks, ensuring they are set up for success through account setup, food safety compliance, scheduling logistics, and ongoing support.  As an Onboarding Co-ordinator, you will be allocated to manage the onboarding needs across a specific geographical area; you will need to grow your awareness and understanding of this area quickly; whilst also adapting to local contexts and operational variations. 

Main areas of responsibility 

• Relationship Building: Serve as the first point of contact for new groups, fostering trust and ensuring a positive onboarding experience that reflects the unique needs of their area. 

• Account Setup: Assist groups with setting up their collection accounts, ensuring all necessary information is completed and systems are accessible. 

• System training: Assist groups in understanding the various donation platforms available to them to ensure successful collections 

• Food Safety Checks: Guide groups through initial food safety requirements, checklists, and verifications to ensure compliance before their first collection. 

• Scheduling Collections: Coordinate and confirm collection schedules, including pickup days, times, and logistics tailored to the group’s capacity and location. 

• Ongoing Support: Maintain regular communication with each group during their start with the programme, offering support, troubleshooting, and feedback collection. 

• Documentation & Reporting: Track onboarding progress, maintain accurate records, and report milestones or concerns to the Onboarding Manager. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure a coordinated and seamless experience for new groups. 

• Regional Onboarding Oversight: Manage the onboarding of new groups across a defined geographical area or multiple regions, adjusting processes to suit local requirements and regional operational nuances. 

   

Essential Criteria 

• Indepth understanding of the FareShare Go programme and working closely with charities to deliver a service that meets their needs.

• Sound understanding of the FareShare Go onboarding requirements for charities, whilst also understanding  regional distinctions and complex  schedules 

• Experience in following FareShare Go’s escalation procedures and communicating with external stakeholders 

• Experience in customer service, specifically with issue resolution around store performance with charity donations. 

• Experience ensuring organization compliance with FareShare Go policies and procedures 

• Familiarity with food safety protocols and being confident in explaining key requirements to charities

• Experience understanding and managing multiple donation platforms simultaneously 

• Strong organisational skills with experience managing workflows across multiple locations, comfortable managing multiple onboarding processes simultaneously 

• Demonstrable use of competency with salesforce reporting, informing analysis and workstream prioritisation 

Desirable Criteria  

• Experience working in food redistribution, logistics, or non-profit programme delivery 

• Training in food safety (e.g., Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate) 

• Knowledge of CRM or onboarding software tools (Salesforce)

Main purpose of post
This role is to lead and be responsible for the development, management and
delivery of WPCC’s high quality, professional counselling and complementary
therapy services for adults, and for children and young people, at the Cavendish
Centre and in outreach locations. This role supports the holistic well-being of
service users, ensuring the services are safe, effective, accessible, and aligned
with the charity’s values and objectives

 To lead and be responsible for the delivery of effective service provision,
including outreach services, and to maintain the ethos and high
standard of the supportive care offered.
 To lead a service that provides one-to-one and small group
complementary therapy services and one-to-one counselling for around
1,000 beneficiaries per annum, including outreach provision in hospitals.
 To be responsible for the management of a complementary therapy and
counselling services budget of around £500,000 per annum.
Leadership & Service Development
 Lead and develop complementary therapy and counselling services to
meet the needs of clients, families, and carers.
 Plan and schedule timetables and freelance staffing rotas to maximise
the availability of counselling and complementary therapies within
available budgets, maximising freelancer availability and efficient
appointment scheduling.
 Evaluate and enhance service delivery in line with best practices, clinical
guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
 Identify and implement service improvements, based on user feedback,
evidence-based practice, and sector developments.
 Work effectively with the Head of Cancer Services and other service leads
to ensure counselling and complementary therapies are an integral part
of the wider WPCC service offer to people affected by cancer.
 To be part of a service lead team which can provide leadership cover
across all services to address day-to-day operational issues, including
safeguarding cover (for adult and children’s services) and maintenance
of service availability.
Freelance therapist management
 Recruit, support, and manage a multidisciplinary team of freelance
counsellors, therapists, and volunteers.
 Ensure therapists delivering these services are of a suitable quality, and
have up-to-date and relevant accreditation/professional registration to practice, including clinical supervision arrangements, insurance, CPD
and DBS checks.
 Provide professional oversight of freelance therapists ensuring all
professional standards are met
 Ensure all team members adhere to safeguarding, clinical governance,
and confidentiality standards.
 To ensure therapists delivering these services are of a suitable quality
and have up-to-date and relevant accreditation/professional registration
to practice, including clinical supervision arrangements, insurance, CPD
and DBS checks.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ethical standards and legal
requirements in counselling and complementary therapy (e.g. BACP,
CNHC, HCPC).
 Oversee risk assessments, safeguarding processes, and incident
reporting procedures.
 Monitor and report on service performance using agreed metrics and
impact evaluation tools.
Client Care & Support
 Ensure services are inclusive, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and
tailored to individual needs.
 Act as a senior point of contact for complex cases, ensuring appropriate
pathways and referrals.
 Maintain a client-centred approach, fostering dignity, respect, and
empowerment.
Partnerships & Engagement
 Build and maintain relationships with health professionals, community
organisations, and funders.
 Liaise as required with external stakeholders, such as healthcare
professionals, safeguarding teams, education providers, social services,
and third sector partners.
 Promote the service through outreach, events, and stakeholder
engagement.
 Contribute to grant applications, reports, and impact assessments to
support sustainability and growth.
Governance, Administration & Reporting
 Manage budgets for therapy and counselling services, ensuring costeffectiveness.
 Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and data
protection policies.
 Ensure suitable collection of activity data and produce service activity
and evaluation reports for internal and external stakeholders.
