- A background in international development or INGOs are desirable but not essential.

TRAIN is a youth work charity based in South Oxfordshire. We support young people aged 10 to 18 in Didcot, Wallingford and the surrounding areas, especially those who are under-served.
Young people in our communities are facing complex challenges. Mental health struggles, pressures at school, family instability and the impact of poverty can leave them feeling isolated or overlooked. Too often, they don’t have access to the right support at the right time. TRAIN exists to change that. ABOUT THE ROLE
As Fundraising and Communications Coordinator, your main focus will be trusts and foundations: researching opportunities, writing persuasive applications and producing clear reports. You’ll also play a part in growing support from corporates, community fundraising, individual donors and major gifts, helping to build a broader base of income over time.
Alongside this, you’ll lead on communications. That means keeping our website and social channels current, producing supporter newsletters, and sharing our story more widely through PR and campaigns. You’ll help make sure the difference TRAIN makes for young people is seen and understood by funders, partners and the local community.
It’s a hands-on role, well-suited to someone who enjoys writing, building relationships and juggling different projects. You don’t need to be an experienced fundraiser — we’re open to people with transferable skills, whether from corporate, public or third sector backgrounds. What matters most is that you can communicate clearly, organise your workload, and are motivated by making a difference for young people.
You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with the rest of the team. This is a part-time role of approximately 30 hours per week, which can be worked flexibly. The role is based in Didcot with hybrid working, but for the right candidate we will consider a fully remote arrangement.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 FTE (pro-rated, depending on experience)
- Contract: Permanent, part-time, approx. 30 hours per week. We can be flexible on the exact number and when they are worked.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising (approx. 80%)
- Pipeline and planning – work with the CEO to keep a clear fundraising plan, with trusts and foundations as the main focus alongside manageable growth in corporates, community, and individual giving.
- Trusts and foundations – research prospects, build a live pipeline, and write strong, tailored bids. Prepare accurate budgets and gather evidence from the team to strengthen proposals.
- Reporting and stewardship – deliver timely reports, thank funders and donors well, and manage renewals and uplift opportunities.
- Relationship development – nurture links with local businesses, community groups and potential major donors. Prepare simple proposals and support fundraising events or activities as needed.
- Systems and compliance – maintain accurate records of applications, deadlines and outcomes. Ensure fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and charity regulations.
Communications (approx. 20%)
- Supporter communications – produce engaging newsletters, updates and thank-yous that connect donors and partners with TRAIN’s impact.
- Digital presence – update the website and social media channels with accurate, timely content that reflects TRAIN’s work and values.
- PR and profile – share stories with local media, partners and networks. Ensure TRAIN’s messaging is clear, consistent and accessible.
- Community engagement – promote TRAIN’s profile, youth offer, brand and presence in the community.
General
- Work closely with the CEO to align fundraising and comms priorities.
- Collaborate with youth work staff to gather stories, quotes and data that demonstrate TRAIN’s impact.
- Represent TRAIN at meetings and community events.
- Contribute to the life of a small, collaborative team.

What matters most is that you can write clearly and persuasively, build relationships with people, and organise your workload to meet deadlines. How you will make a difference
We are looking for a dedicated Partnerships Manager to join our passionate team of fundraisers. The successful post-holder will drive new partnership opportunities and develop long-standing partnerships for both Mental Health UK and Rethink Mental Illness.
With extensive experience in charitable corporate partnerships, the Partnerships Manager will use their creativity and innovative skills to develop and deliver sector-leading partnerships at both mid and high value level and undertaking specific income generating and comms projects in relation to flagship partnerships. You will have some responsibility for seeking new and exciting partnership opportunities and drive their delivery and growth to strategically support our work across the UK.
You’ll have cultivation and stewardship skills to build and maintain your own pipeline, understand and translate trends in the market, and have a track record in influencing internal and external stakeholders to grow and diversify partnerships income.

PURPOSE
The Principal Gifts Manager is a vital member of the Development team at the WHO Foundation, responsible for advancing strategic fundraising and engagement goals. The role will appeal to a talented principal gifts fundraiser motivated by the opportunity to make a transformative impact on the Foundation’s fundraising at a pivotal moment in its history.
By cultivating relationships with individuals, trusts, and corporations, this role will secure $3M+ funding from a diverse and growing community of supporters. The Principal Gifts Manager will connect these stakeholders to our mission through a blend of face-to-face meetings, events, tailored proposals, and compelling presentations. This role may also serve as a multi-market specialist, managing select portfolios.
REPORTS TO
The Principal Gifts Manager will report to the Director of Development US for the WHO Foundation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising and portfolio management:

Increase philanthropic gifts to WHOF and build a sustainable pipeline of prospects and fundraising income.

Manage a portfolio of 30-40 prospective donors and deliver multiple gifts at the $3 million + level.

Meet or exceed targets, including dollars raised, asks made, meetings secured, and gift closure rates.

Develop strategies for multi-year transformational funding etc to : Develop strategies for multi-year transformational funding, working collaboratively with the Development Team to expand UHNW networks and corporate partners. Build plans to engage family offices, donor-advised funds, wealth advisors, and family foundations at the principal gift level.

Efficiently use the CRM to track and report activity, support campaign data, and provide management information for senior leadership.

Cultivate deep and meaningful principal gift relationships with prospects and donors.

Design and execute effective cultivation/ solicitation strategies with potential donors that inspire major gifts to match fundraising priorities.

About the Role

You will support the High Value Partnerships Manager and Community & Events Fundraising Manager, both of which are already well-established income streams with lots of great potential. Purpose of the role

As a Community Fundraising Manager for Dementia UK, you will lead a team of regionally based fundraisers to grow income across community fundraising streams, with a strategic focus on high value supporter acquisition and engagement across regional corporates, organisations and individuals.
You will collaborate with the Head of Community Fundraising and Senior Relationship Fundraising Manager to deliver the community fundraising strategy and develop annual budgets.
You will be responsible for guiding your team to identify and secure community fundraising partnerships, building a strong pipeline of new business and developing exceptional supporter journeys. You will deliver exceptional stewardship for some of the team’s highest value supporters, that drives increased average gifts and long-term support.

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record of delivering income across community fundraising streams, and an understanding of effective relationship fundraising techniques. We are seeking maternity cover for the Fundraising & Volunteer Manager starting November/December 2025. About the role
