About the programme

We are excited to launch our two-year career and leadership development programme which will provide an opportunity to work within, and rotate between, our organisational practices.

We are delighted that you are interested in joining the Social Impact Fast Track. In the first year of your programme you will join the team as an Analyst and, subject to successful completion of year one, in year two you will progress to Senior Analyst. During your two-year programme you will work within at least two of our organisational practices. You will work directly with our partners, understanding their needs and supporting them to maximise their impact. During the programme you will also lead pro-bono projects for our corporate social responsibility partners.

In addition to gaining experience with our partners and within our teams, you will undertake a structured learning and development programme which includes mentoring from one of our Group Directors, and regular learning and development sessions including a dedicated professional development budget. Between years one and two you will receive a two-week paid break and a budget of up to £1500 to complete a research project on ‘Impact and Sustainability’ and report your findings back to representatives of our Group Board. You will also have the opportunity to have a two-week placement in one of our partner organisations, to help you develop your professional skill set. At the end of the programme we expect a number of participants to apply for and progress into our Officer and Manager roles, or look to secure positions with our partners or other like minded social purpose organisations.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and creative Fundraising Officer to build on the development and growth of income through local communities across Surrey. You will build on our existing Community Fundraising programme to maximise income and engagement.

Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey is a county-wide charity supporting people of all ages who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind. We have been supporting Surrey residents for over 100 years. Our main office base is in Fetcham, near Leatherhead, and our team of staff and volunteers work out in the community across the county.

The post holder will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to prioritise effectively and manage a busy and varied workload. Job Purpose:

The post holder must have a minimum of two years fundraising experience and use their initiative, personal presence and drive to support all fundraising activity to achieve a substantial increase in unrestricted income.

Principle Accountabilities:

· Research, identify, approach and secure new partnership opportunities

Founded in 2007, KHULA Education is an award-winning South African NGO working in partnership with rural schools and underserved communities in deep rural South Africa to ensure children and youth can access a quality education and economic opportunity.

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.

As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand.  This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.

We are a very small team so the role will cover a breadth of funding streams, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, High Value Donors, and Events, both special and community.  It is therefore important that you have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and solid experience of crafting successful funding applications.  You will also need excellent planning and organisational skills.

The role can, to some extent, be shaped by the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but it is likely to include the following responsibilities.

 Key Responsibilities

• Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. Alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, the post holder will be responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors and taking responsibility for their own portfolio of donors.
• Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
• ​​External communications: working alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, assisting in the creation of our quarterly e-newsletter and the Annual Report, managing our social media channels, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
• Events: supporting our community and events fundraisers and assisting with the organisation of occasional special events, alongside Board members.
• Fundraising innovation: assisting in the development of creative campaigns to increase donations/recruit lapsed donors, developing products and offerings.
• Financial management and admin: maintaining our donor database and contributing to fundraising budgets and forecasts. 

Person Specification

Experience of working in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as this is a very hands-on role, covering a wide range of responsibilities.

We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who demonstrate most/all of the following attributes:

• A proven, demonstrable track record of submitting successful funding applications.
• Experience in successfully fundraising from one or more of trusts, foundations, high value donors and corporates.

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

This post requires leadership and strong ethical commitment to RJ4All’s core values and vision, independence balanced against organisational priorities and focus. To this end, the postholder is expected to have excellent communication with the Director, and be able to participate in complex, high level discussions with the non-executive directors and other stakeholders about the future of RJ4All. Initiative, loyalty, and innovation are attributes that are highly valued at RJ4All. 

Key Tasks 

• Lead on the management of RJ4All’s UK Operations especially those run from the Rotherhithe Community Centre, ensuring its facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards. 

• To line manage the Community Project Coordinators and Officers, the Fitness team, administrators, finance support staff, interns and volunteers. 

• To lead on drafting applications for funding from government, trusts and foundations, donors and sponsors for UK programmes and services. 

• To lead on managing and delivering of all services running out of the Community Centre including the RJ4All Sports branch, Community Gym, YouthClubs+, Foodbank, and Community Library 

• To lead on creating and monitoring the UK Operations’ Theory of Change on annual basis, and review it against available data and individual projects’ Theory of Change. 

Qualifications 

Essential 

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a relevant field such as equalities or crime prevention 

• Experience in non-profit, CIC, or small business environment

• Experience in managing paid and volunteering personnel

• Demonstrated experience in fundraising 

• Experience in writing and monitoring budgets 

• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to contribute to decision-making and planning

Salary: £40,000 per year

Location: UK remote - with a commitment to attend important meetings / training sessions in person in Haywards Heath or UK locations, up to 7 times a year. Availability to travel overseas for events/project visits up to one week a year, if required.

Contract: Full-time (35 hours) or Part-time (28 hours) with some flexibility around hours worked.

The Trusts Executive will be responsible for managing a portfolio of trust donors, focusing on trusts capable of contributing to a high level. The successful candidate will have an active and positive impact to the overall direction of the team and the organisation as a whole.

This exciting role will see the successful candidate managing and cultivating an existing portfolio of committed trust and foundation donors via bespoke proposals and meetings at all levels of seniority, as well as, engaging with exciting new trust prospects in targeted global markets

Responsibilities

Relationship Building:

• Manage and cultivate relationships with a portfolio of trust and foundation donors through bespoke proposals, mailings, reports, and meetings.

Marie Curie, the UK’s leading end-of-life charity, is seeking an Associate Director of Local Fundraising to lead their local fundraising operation and ensuring they maximise the value from local relationships.

Marie Curie is the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all four nations delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Their leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and their campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from.

The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.

The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to  drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie.  This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.

The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie.  With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.

The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. They will also have experience in developing both annual operational and three-year strategic plans, developing creative and innovative solutions and digital marketing and in working with working with volunteers and engaging local communities. This will be combined with a proven track record in managing large high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.

This is an ideal career opportunity for an individual with extensive community fundraising experience looking to either broaden their portfolio or take the next step towards a Director of Fundraising role.

You will also identify and implement strategic, data and insight-led improvements, new product opportunities, and innovation for growth.

To be successful in this role, you'll be an expert in relationship building and passionate about engaging and mobilising communities and audiences. You will also have demonstrable experience leading and co-ordinating the delivery of community fundraising activity, and product development processes.
