Responsibilities of our Senior Corporate Partnerships Development Officer:
- The successful candidate will lead the development of new, long-term corporate partnerships, supporting the implementation of the corporate partnerships fundraising plan and increasing sustainable net income for Cats Protection.
- The Senior Corporate Partnerships Development Officer will be pivotal in driving new income for the charity, working as one with teams across the charity to identify new opportunities for potential corporate funding support.
About the Corporate Partnerships team:
- We sit within the Marketing & Income Generation directorate.
- The corporate partnerships team is split between new business and account management, made up of driven, passionate and dynamic corporate fundraisers
- We currently have a team of one full time Senior Corporate Partnerships Development Officer and a Corporate Partnerships Development Manager, in addition to a Lead Corporate Partnerships Manager who oversees the entire corporate partnerships team
- You will be managed by the Corporate Partnerships Development Manager, and you will work alongside another Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer to achieve a joint team target
What we are looking for in our Senior Corporate Partnerships Development Officer:
- Significant corporate partnership fundraising experience generating new business within a charity setting

Over the past three years, Acorns’ leadership has enhanced collaboration and innovation across the charity and embedded an organisation-wide fundraising culture.
With a newly integrated Partnerships Team spanning corporate partnerships and community fundraising, and an ambitious £5m appeal ahead, Acorns is now seeking a Senior Community Partnerships Manager to oversee and deliver the charity’s community fundraising strategy, driving c.£1m of income. The strategic focus will be on building more commercially productive relationships with SMEs, community groups, and associations across the West Midlands.
Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, you will personally manage a portfolio of key community partnerships while leading and developing a team of three Community Partnerships Managers. While the team operates on a patch basis (Birmingham/Black Country and Worcester), you will take a lead on integration across Acorns, working closely with Retail and Care colleagues.

About the role
As Senior Community Partnerships Manager, you will:
- Report to the Head of Partnerships and line manage three Community Partnerships Managers, ensuring plans are focused, targets/KPIs are set and met and ROI is prioritised
- Oversee key accounts worth circa £1m across the team, seeking opportunities to uplift/evolve, whilst delivering exceptional donor experience for SME, community group, and association partners
- Be the key account manager for a range of partnerships that have the potential for growth, are higher profile or have a wider geography than one patch alone
- Work closely with the Corporate Team to ensure smooth handover of partners with higher value potential or commercial complexity or in reverse for those that focus more on staff fundraising alone
- Network map and build relationships across key sectors, utilising Acorns senior leaders to open doors
- Contribute to the development of fundraising products and campaigns that appeal to community audiences
- Collaborate with Retail, Care and other fundraising teams to maximise referrals and cross-team opportunities
About you
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience of growing income through regional community engagement, ideally within a charity setting
- Either line management or substantial coaching/mentoring experience
- Experience of working with community leaders
- Experience and evidence of first-class relationship management techniques and donor care
- Experience of organising events, managing volunteers, risk assessments and health and safety requirements
- Track record of cross-team working with examples of impact, ideally this will include collaborating with corporate partnerships teams

Time Commitment and Remuneration
This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings. Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.
Members are paid up to £185 per meeting. This is taxable and subject to National Insurance (NI) contributions. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule.

The Role

JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose - working closely with Senior Managers, the post holder will support all aspects of business development and fundraising, including the development of bids, tender submissions and applications for funding to achieve the Association’s objectives. The postholder will also play an important role in supporting the mobilisation of projects and services following a successful application.
SOME KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and implementation of a Business Development Strategy incorporating grant funding, contracted provision and social enterprise development, which aligns with the Association’s Strategic and Development Plans.
- Support the development and implementation of an annual Fundraising Plan with ambitious income goals that underpin the Association’s strategic goals and accelerates revenue growth in a sustainable manner.
- Identify new funding / tender opportunities that are well targeted, informed and thoroughly researched in order to maximise the chances of success.
- Produce external funding bids, expressions of interest and support income generating activities including developing tender responses and social enterprises to meet the Association’s objectives.
- Submit bids, tenders and required information to funders within defined deadlines while meeting submission requirements.
- Support the development of business cases for establishing social enterprises and joint ventures that deliver local outcomes and diversify / strengthen the Association’s financial base.
- Work with colleagues to scope, develop, refine and improve services and activities through innovative tools and techniques including organising coproduction sessions with partners, stakeholders and residents.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, contract managers, grant officers and corporates etc.

- £65,000–£75,000 FTE, depending on experience
- 25 days annual leave + 10 public holidays (pro rata)

We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team on a fixed-term 14 month contract (maternity cover).
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the management and delivery of our challenge events, special events and community fundraising streams, but the post-holder would also be expected to regularly support activities across our corporate partnerships, individual giving and Family Fundraising streams of fundraising too.
You will play a key role in developing these income streams, engaging our supporters to motivate them to fundraise for Lia’s Wings and creating initiatives that introduce new people to our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management
- To manage our Challenge, Community and Special Event fundraising streams to achieve set targets. This will include management of challenge events such as our flagship event, Ride for Lia, as well as London Landmarks and the Royal Parks Half Marathon.
- To manage our annual Air Ambulance Mingle and develop existing plans for a new Christmas Carol Concert
Corporate and Community Partnerships
- To assume account management of our smaller corporate and community partnerships (who are primarily engaged with us through event fundraising)

Supporter Engagement
- To effectively steward fundraisers to ensure an excellent supporter experience (resulting in year-on-year participation), including appropriate thanking and recognition, reporting and feedback on outcomes of events.

Essential Experience and Skills
- A minimum of three years proven experience in a fundraising role, preferably in a challenge, community or special events fundraising role.

- Experience in writing and developing stewardship plans and in creating engaging fundraising collateral to support donors and supporters of all levels.
