We are looking for a Head of Communications to lead the Comms function at a strategic level, inspiring and influencing how the charity share their story with the world. You'll craft and deliver bold, creative, and inclusive communications that raise awareness for the charity.

This is a Hybrid role with 2 days a week in the London office, either SW London or West London with regular travel across England and Wales.

The Role
Work with colleagues to devise, deliver and evaluate multidisciplinary Comms Plans that raise awareness and support the charity to achieve corporate objectives.

Oversee the Helplines digital platforms and channels,including social media and websites.

Lead and oversee the production of corporate publications, including the development of compelling marketing material that engages staff, volunteers and service users.

Proactively place positive stories in the media; be the first point of contact for incoming media enquiries; and prepare spokespeople for media interviews.

The Candidate
Experience of devising, delivering and evaluating communications plans that support the delivery of organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

• Research, plan and draft compelling grant and funding applications.
• Maintain and update our CRM system (Beacon), ensuring records are accurate and communications are timely.
• Plan and deliver key supporter events.
• Lead on the development, delivery and stewardship of community fundraising activities, including challenge events.
• Prepare timely and engaging reports and updates for funders.
• Provide stewardship to individual supporters and donors
• Support on implementing our Monitoring and Evaluation Framework to capture meaningful programme insights to support funding applications and reporting.
• Collaborate with colleagues to gather and analyse qualitative data, including quotes, feedback and stories to demonstrate impact.

Communications

• Manage Caxton’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Bluesky), creating engaging, youth-appropriate content that reflects our values and voice.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on social media performance to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
• Write and collect case studies and stories that showcase the experiences and successes of young people.
• Develop and maintain marketing materials, promotional assets, and internal communications tools.
• Maintaining the Caxton website, including writing blog posts and updating content as needed.
• Lead on the implementation of Caxton’s communications calendar to ensure consistent and strategic messaging.
• Strengthen our presence in the community and online through targeted communications initiatives

Person Specification

Essential:

• 2+ years’ experience in fundraising, particularly writing funding applications and/or managing donor relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
• Experience managing social media channels for an organisation.
• Confident using design tools (e.g. Canva) and email marketing platforms.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
• Committed to the values of inclusion, equity and youth empowerment.

Desirable:

• Experience using Beacon or another CRM
• Knowledge of the youth or disability sector.
• Basic photography, video or design skills.

Working to the Strategic Communications Lead for Scotland you will be responsible for telling the story of our dormant assets funding across social media, press and digital platforms to a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities include:

• leading on all regular announcements of dormant assets funding to the media and stakeholders
• interviewing young people behind the projects to produce engaging content for media features, case studies and online social media channels
• managing the yearly production of the Young Start Annual Report, at the request of the Scottish Government.
• Support proactive communications campaigns from story identification to coverage
• Build and maintain relationships with Scotland’s national, regional and specialist media.

Senior Finance Business Partner & Analyst

About you

As our Senior Finance Business Partner & Analyst you support all financial aspects of our income generation and contract management working closely with budget holders and senior management. Our income is about £10m much of which is contractual but with a small and growing donation income stream from trusts and individuals. You will be supporting the analysis of individual contracts, particularly staffing costs, and a wider look at income streams. You will support bids for new work and produce funder reports. You will be a key part of our organisational forecast and budgeting, with some scenario planning for changes in the economy.

You will report directly to the Director of Finance & ICT.

Interim Finance Business Partner | £375 - £400 per day | 3-6 months

For a leading university in central London, we're recruiting an interim Finance Business Partner for 3-6 months. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will work as a trusted advisor to several non-finance budget holders and academic staff within the faculty and several Corporate / Professional Services areas. The interim Finance Business Partner will manage all areas of their management accounting and financial planning, providing insightful financial information, analysis, and reporting to help with decision-making. This is a key role during a period of change as the University implements Technology One, so experience in this system is highly desirable.

Main Duties:

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts with review and interpretation of results, MI, risks and opportunities for budget holders
• Produce reports and analysis on cost drivers for stakeholders, and provide analysis on complex data sets for decision-making
• Prepare management accounts liaising with the financial accounting team to ensure all transactions and journals are robust and accurate
• Build strong relationships with budget holders, meeting frequently and providing support and decision-making advice
• Produce monthly commentary on the management accounts for budget holder groups
• Prepare and deliver for yearly budget and quarterly forecasting process
• Support the implementation of Technology One, including the roll-out of user training and workshops for budget holders on finance processes

The Rees Foundation is seeking a dynamic and driven Fundraising Officer to help us grow and diversify our income, enabling us to continue providing lifelong support to care experienced people across the UK.

This is a remote role, open to candidates across the UK. Occasional travel will be required, including monthly visits to our Worcestershire office and other UK travel.

What You’ll Do:

As our Fundraising Officer, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our expanding fundraising strategy. Working closely with our Senior Fundraising Officer and Head of Income and Development you’ll help identify new funding opportunities, manage donor relationships, craft compelling proposals, and support campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research new funding opportunities and potential donors
• Create persuasive fundraising proposals and communications for trusts, foundations, corporates, and individuals
• Manage donor records and ensure timely acknowledgment of donations
• Support fundraising campaigns, including online and in-person events
• Assist in preparing grant applications and ensuring reporting compliance
• Generate fundraising reports and support strategic planning
• Provide administrative and operational support to the fundraising function

Role Purpose

As Head of Fundraising, you will be responsible for generating sustainable income through our fundraising activities, along with ensuring that Beaumond House is continuously building strong relationships with our supporters, local businesses and wider community as part of our income generation strategy.

You will lead and support the Beaumond House fundraising team in developing sustainable income to help ensure our charitable work continues to make an impact in Newark and Sherwood for future generations.  

Main Duties

• Responsible for devising, implementing, and developing innovative fundraising activity plans to ensure dependable sources of income for now and in the future.
• Work with your team, to build long-lasting relationships with our supporters, volunteers, businesses, grant makers and wider community.
• Manage the fundraising team operations and plan day-to-day activities.
• Ensure that all fundraising activity and donor communications is compliant and to best practice, keeping up to date with latest fundraising regulations.
•  Work closely with senior leadership team, in particular Head of Retail and Head of Care to ensure joined-up fundraising campaigns are in place across the organisation.
• Working closely with Head of Finance to ensure all income is correctly categorised and allocated.
• Be responsible for ensuring donor data and relationship management communications are correctly populated within CRM system.
• Oversee our presence across online platforms, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and Beaumond House brand.
• Continuously track and report fundraising performance and budgets to Director of Income Generation and CEO, producing monthly and ad-hoc reports to support strategic decision making.
• Support in developing future strategies for income generation.

Operational and Management Duties

• Responsible line management of the Fundraising team, holding team-wide meetings, 1-2-1 sessions, annual appraisals and development plans. Creating a positive working environment within the department to enable all members of the team are productive and motivated.
• Mentor and coach members of the team, identify and support with development needs in team knowledge or experience, offering support and best practice advice.
• Delivering a tactical programme to ensure the successful implementation of fundraising plans and strategy, supporting each member of the fundraising team to meet their targets.
• Identify and clarify relationship overlaps between fundraising team members to ensure clarity for donors and supporters.
•  Get involved and support the team with fundraising activities as required. Such as attending fundraising events and activities outside normal working hours, weekends and Bank Holidays when required.
• Support and encourage the team in working effectively with volunteers. Ensuring volunteers have purpose, feel valued, well supported and part of the Beaumond House team.
• Abide by organisational policies and practices, including the equal opportunities policy, confidentiality code and code of conduct.
• Ensure that every activity adheres to the health and safety procedures and guidelines, including carrying out risk assessments in line with policy.
• Hold regular meetings with the fundraising and wider hospice teams to ensure good practice and collaboration.
• Liaise with peers across region and attend meetings organised by hospice specific groups.
• Undertake any reasonable task requested by your line manager.

Strategic Support

• Maintain and build on the established brand of Beaumond House, maximising opportunities with local communities and outlets.
• Be the voice, and champion, of our supporters and donors throughout everything we do. Maintaining feedback through items such as supporter feedback groups.
• Champion innovation in income generation, identify emerging trends in philanthropy, digital fundraising and donor engagement.
• Prepare detailed income and expenditure forecasts and project schedules in line with the organisation’s objectives.
• Support in the development of future strategic projects and priorities with Senior Leadership Team.
•  Prepare reports on fundraising performance for board and sub-committees as required.

Administration Duties

• Take responsibility for own administration, always completing to the highest and most thorough standards.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records using agreed systems, such as Xero, Beacon CRM and MS Office 365. Use these to set up and run reports to provide information.
• Support directly or via signposting for IT queries eg. Use of MS 365, Beacon CRM, Gift Aid.
• Respond in a timely manner to enquiries/queries.

General Duties

• To develop and maintain a sound understanding of all facets of the work undertaken by Beaumond House and the hospice movement.
• Work collaboratively and cooperatively with your Beaumond House colleagues.

The Coln Restoration Group are seeking a part-time Consultant and Adviser to report to the Chairman and Donors of the group. The post extends and builds on the successful work undertaken over the last sixteen months by the Upper Coln Restoration Group.

The aim of the CRG is to restore the Coln river, a major Upper Thames tributary, to the state it was in until it was overwhelmed and degraded in recent years by excessive sewerage storm overflow, sewage storm tank spill events and compromising groundwater abstraction. 

The applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating the campaign to restore the Coln river. This includes devising a strategy with the Chairman and the group to maintain pressure on Thames Water to fulfil its significant new investment undertakings and to meet its wider statutory obligations and responsibilities for improving the state of the river.

The role will require engagement with key stakeholders and regulatory bodies including Ofwat and the Environment Agency, or their successors, to ensure support for the implementation of a comprehensive and ongoing restoration plan. An important role requiring the ability to help drive the process on a weekly and monthly basis.

Qualifications sought from the applicant may include the following areas:

· Evidence of multi-agency and/ or corporate team working at a senior level.  

· Academic achievement and environmental or farming working knowledge.

· Coordination of water testing and monitoring volunteer network.

· Data sourcing and analysis capabilities.

· Good people skills.

Remuneration, length of service and time commitment negotiable. Starting date – as soon as possible. Funding commitments in place for at least a three year appointment.

As Supporter Care Officer you’ll help to build our fundraising activities by working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships to grow, diversify and sustain our income generation. You’ll provide excellent care and guidance to our supporters and create plans to grow our activities across individual giving, challenge and community fundraising. We’re in the early stages of growth and this new role offers an exciting opportunity to help build a fundraising department from the ground up.

You’ll have some experience in fundraising and/or the charity sector and will be keen to develop your skills and work across multiple functions in a small, fast-moving team.
