About the Organisation

This is a brand new locally run youth charity, and will be the first Youth Zone in Yorkshire.  It is set to provide thousands of young people with the opportunity to have fun, make new friends, try something new and feel safe. We work in Lebanon with Syrian and Palestinian women, and in the UK with women from all over the world. 

Our arts projects include theatre and craft therapy, filmmaking and feminist embroidery. We also facilitate access to training, education and income generation opportunities, and run workshops on parenting support and on women’s rights in a context of rights for all. 

Our flagship Oshana project provides refugee women in Lebanon with a dignified income, a supportive community, and a creative outlet for trauma through embroidery and crochet - and has built a reputation for beautiful design and impeccable craftsmanship. 

We are a young but ambitious organisation that is transforming the lives of hundreds of refugee women and their families in Lebanon, and dozens in the UK. We have rapidly grown over the past three years, with an accompanying increase in income. 

WHO WE ARE

Makani was founded in 2022 and officially registered as a charity in June 2024. One of our co-founders has her own lived experience of displacement; both have worked for many years supporting women who have been forced to leave their homes. 

We now have two staff in the UK and four in Lebanon. We work from home with occasional meetings in London for UK-based staff. As Finance and Administration Manager, you will join us as our seventh staff member, a key member of the team.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Finance and Administration Manager to lead on developing and maintaining our financial and organisational systems, enabling Makani to increase our impact on the lives of refugee women. 

Position: Finance and Administration Manager

Contract type: Permanent - but also open to applications on a consultant basis

Responsible to: Director of Operations

Location: Home-based, with occasional meetings in London (transport costs covered)

Hours: 20 hours per week, core hours to be agreed upon appointment, flexitime-friendly

Salary: £35,000 per annum pro rata (£20,000 for the 20 hour week)

Annual leave and benefits:

28 days annual leave pro rata (not including bank holidays)

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance

• Work with the Executive team to set and monitor annual budgets

• Record all financial transactions using accounting software (Xero)

• Record and track multiple restricted and unrestricted grants from a range of donors

• Prepare and present quarterly management accounts for the Board

• Prepare end-of-year accounts 

• Oversee payroll and ensure timely invoice payments

• Ensure the charity complies with the financial requirements of the Charity Commission, HMRC and other bodies

• Develop and maintain financial procedures and internal controls

• Liaise with external accountants or auditors for the preparation of annual accounts and statutory reporting

• Monitor cash flow and support the Director of Operations in maintaining financial sustainability

• Support the board and senior staff to maintain and update charity policies (safeguarding, finance, HR, etc.)

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

You will have:

• Proven experience in charity financial management, including restricted/unrestricted funding

• Familiarity with or willingness to learn Xero accounting software

• Familiarity with UK charity accounting and reporting standards

• Strong organisational and administrative skills

• Ability to work independently and remotely and to communicate well in a small team

• Understanding of good HR policies and practice for small charities 

• Understanding of or willingness to learn about other key areas of compliance such as data protection

Resurrection Trading (known as Resurrection Furniture) is a vibrant friendly charity shop in Alton High Street specialising in recycled second hand furniture and home goods. We need an efficient organiser to lead our team of volunteers, manage the office and bring a creative flair to display and sales.

About us
We opened in Alton in 2017 and in 2022 moved to larger premises at 21b High Street. The charity is linked to the Parish of the Resurrection. All profits from the shop go to good causes in Alton, especially to support youth related projects, people in need, heritage buildings and the community.

The shop is a busy, friendly place supported by a skilled team of repairers in the workshop and a lively band of drivers and lifters on the van. In total we have more than 50 volunteers and the charity is led by a team of Trustees. The shop is open 10 to 4pm Monday to Saturday.

Job Summary
The Manager’s role is typical for a retail high street shop except that there is no head office or back up staff - the manager and volunteers between them carry out all functions. These include:
Daily office administration - communications especially daily emails, Facebook messages and phone calls re furniture donations and sales, discussions with volunteers.
Coordination of volunteers including induction training, support and leadership,
Organising donations – selection, collection, pricing, display and delivery.
Shop organisation, administration and reporting to Trustees including publicity
 

Key Responsibilities:

Office Administration
• Deal promptly with shop communications via telephone, emails, Facebook and in person each day relating to donations, sales, and messages from volunteers
• Maintain data including personnel and customer information, finance and other record keeping.
• Manage the system of agreeing furniture donations, arranging collections from and deliveries to homes around Alton and booking slots on the van.
• Order shop supplies and maintain health and safety systems
• Manage gift aid documentation and other notices.

Volunteer Coordination
• Manage the volunteer rota ensuring that the shop is staffed by two to three volunteers including a lead volunteer per shift six days per week.

• Identify and recruit new volunteers as necessary, organise induction and regular training especially relating to health and safety, cash management and shop and van routine.

Managing donations and sales
• In conjunction with volunteers decide on items to be accepted based on quality, saleability, existing stock from photos and other information.

• Ensure the shop is full of a wide range of items with back up stock kept in the store offsite.
• Promote donations via estate agents, care homes, general publicity and regular house clearances

Shop organisation

Overview

We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Challenge Events Lead to drive forward a flagship portfolio of challenge  fundraising events with strategic control, operational excellence and a deep sense of ownership.

This is a senior delivery role, accountable for all aspects of planning, executing and evaluating complex fundraising events across Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, Evelina London Children’s Charity, and Guy’s Cancer Charity. This position requires someone who can operate independently, manage high-value partnerships, oversee delivery risks, and influence cross-functional teams with credibility.

You will be expected to take initiative, lead relationships and processes without supervision, and support junior colleagues in upholding the highest operational standards. The Challenge Events lead plays a critical role within the fundraising team, combining strategic oversight with a hands-on commitment to delivery excellence. Work environment

The purpose of the role

The Mass Market team’s mission is to inspire the UK public to financially support the IRC to help people impacted by conflict and disaster. The purpose of this role is to support the Director, Mass Markets by implementing the Retention strategy in order to generate long-term sustainable growth, cultivate a loyal and engaged donor base and maximise net revenue.

As Retention Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for annual operational planning and delivery across for the retention programme, including for emergency appeals. You will work closely with the Director, Mass Markets to create and manage significant annual budgets, ensuring return on investment is maximised at all times. Supported by the Retention Marketing Executive, you will oversee all campaign activity, ensuring that it meets the strategic objectives and financial goals of the department.

You will be part of a department focused on excellence, with significant opportunity to lead on change and drive impact and growth.

Key accountabilities

Strategy and planning

• Support the Director, Mass Markets in the development and delivery of the retention strategy and priorities
• Identify, scope and deliver new and innovative opportunities that advance the retention strategy
• Manage retention operational planning, including leading annual, quarterly and monthly planning sessions, defining key deliverables and ensuring all activity supports the aims of the retention strategy
• Manage the monitoring and reporting framework to track performance against strategic objectives
• Identify and brief support requirements with internal and external partners in order to maximise activity and ensure the smooth running of back-office operations
• Build, manage and distribute a detailed marketing plan (refreshed quarterly) in line with strategic priorities and objectives, ensuring activities are co-ordinated, integrated and maximised with other Mass Market UK teams.

Budget management

• Manage segments of the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process, identifying opportunities for savings, additional investment, or budget reallocation

• Lead on tracking and reconciling retention income and expenditure budget lines, providing variance reporting to support the Director, Mass Markets regular financial reporting

Campaign management

• Oversee, plan and deliver multi-channel revenue and engagement campaigns, including emergencies, ensuring all activity is designed to inspire and engage supporters
• Oversee the design and implementation of customer journeys across all segments and products, in order to increase loyalty, average value and product holdings
• Lead the development and management of the mid-level portfolio, including regular communications, donor events, and identification and development of prospects into active donating advocates of the IRC
• Oversee work to ensure it is completed to standard, on time and within budget and act as overflow support during peak times, such as emergencies

Leadership and management

• Line manage and develop the Retention Marketing Executive(s), ensuring performance objectives are managed throughout the year and opportunities for training, development and progression are identified and prioritised
• Work closely with other team members to increase connection across Mass Markets, with the ultimate aim of developing a seamless progression for new donors and prospects into further cultivation
• Manage day-to-day relationships with external suppliers, ensuring performance is to standard and opportunities to drive value for money from existing and new suppliers are identified, and supporting with the preparation of quarterly business reviews, as required

General

• Keep up to date with the sector developments in individual giving to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, best practice and industry standards and adhere to all relevant regulation including the Fundraising Regulator and ICO.

As a Children and Family worker, you will be based within our Women's Refuge service, supporting women and children up to the age of 15 who have escaped domestic abuse. You will deliver trauma-informed, child and family centred support to promote safety and wellbeing, working collaboratively with mothers to strengthen the parent-child relationship during a time of crisis. You will support with both emotional and practical day-to-day support. This is typically done through key work sessions, risk assessments, and empowerment focused activities. 

You will play a vital role in supporting families, being the sole specialist within the service, which gives you autonomy to shape the role based on your expertise and experience. You will lead on child-focused support, as well as working part of the wider team to provide the support to mothers. You will deliver a range of support for children and young people, as well as family and parenting support. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has a real passion to support families and children who have experienced domestic abuse. You will have a trauma-informed understanding of domestic abuse and the impact it has on families, and will be able to engage in sensitive conversations, recognising signs on trauma, and being proactive to support families to overcome this. This is a hands-on, active role, ideal for someone who is creative, energetic, and passionate about working directly with families. You will be a team player, able to collaborate and provide support to colleagues as needed.

We are looking for a recent law graduate or early career professional with an outstanding eye for detail, strong analytical and research skills, and demonstrable experience in writing and communicating persuasively.

Working closely with our tight-knit and dynamic team, you will help deliver our unique court monitoring programme by following major cases related to corruption and economic crime that are heard in the UK courts. This work will give you invaluable first-hand exposure to legal proceedings across a range of courts and tribunals in England and Wales – not only high-profile criminal prosecutions and asset recovery proceedings, but also major commercial litigation and other civil claims, as well as judicial review proceedings and regulatory enforcement action.

As the legal fellow, you will benefit from the mentorship of a leading barrister as well as other support when drafting court applications or submissions and scoping potential opportunities for strategic litigation that could advance Spotlight’s advocacy objectives. Working closely with the Deputy Director, you will also engage with other top lawyers who serve on Spotlight’s strategic litigation advisory board. In the course of this work, you will help build our relationships with the legal sector as well as strengthen our relationships with law enforcement agencies, civil servants, journalists, and civil society partners, particularly in the Global South.

Drawing on your close monitoring of court cases and engagement with law enforcement agencies, legal practitioners and other experts, you will contribute evidence-based research, briefings, blogs and commentary on core areas of our work. You will be confident working with complex legal materials and following court proceedings while showing enthusiastic, creative and strategic engagement with the broader policy issues arising from our casework. Working as part of a dynamic and cross-functional fundraising team, this role leads on the planning, execution and scaling of original event products — from large-scale mass participation experiences like the St Thomas’ Abseil, to creative, insight-driven virtual campaigns and supporter-led challenges. It’s a diverse, hands-on portfolio that brings together live delivery, digital innovation and product development.

Summary

Working with the Philanthropy team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager – Trusts & Foundations will play a key role in driving new high-value relationships with Trusts & Foundations and raising six and seven figure income for our three charities: Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity, and Guy’s Cancer Charity. 

As a member of the Philanthropy team, this role will work with colleagues and the Head of Philanthropy to help shape and develop our new fundraising strategy. The Senior Philanthropy Manager – Trusts & Foundations will predominantly look after relationships with Trusts & Foundations, but there may be a small portfolio of Major Donors within the prospect pool, which may grow over time depending on the demands of the Philanthropy team. 

The role will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with trustees, influencers and staff of grant-giving organisations, leading on often complex, large-scale projects and solicitations. Communication and networking 

• Write clear and compelling fundraising proposals to charitable Trusts and Foundations that have the capacity to make six- and seven-figure grants and donations. 
• Build effective, senior-level relationships with trustees, influencers and staff involved with charitable Trusts and Foundations, as appropriate meeting and liaising directly with funders as the ‘face’ of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, while also supporting senior staff, academics and clinicians to communicate with funders and work to a brief to achieve objectives.

• Identify a range of internal fundraising priorities that will engage the interest and charitable objectives of Trusts and Foundations. 
• Work with the Prospect Research team to build an ongoing pipeline of high-calibre, qualified prospects with the capacity to give significant support to priority projects. 
• Balance the coordination of a large number of complex relationships and fundraising projects with the ability to respond appropriately to new opportunities as they arise. 
• Prioritise effectively, balancing urgent vs. important calls on your time, and making decisions about how to use your resources to maximise income for the team. 
• Take a long-term planning approach to the Trusts and Foundations portfolio, mapping out donor development plans for key accounts, and developing a calendar of activity for the year ahead, taking into account key deadlines and interdependencies. 
• Make independent professional decisions and advise colleagues as appropriate. 

Service delivery 

• Generate annual income according to agreed targets – both individual and team. 
• Manage and implement the Trusts and Foundations programme, and work with colleagues and the Head of team to develop and implement strategy and plans. 
• Achieve KPIs as agreed with the Head of team, e.g. for meetings, pledged income. 
• Establish gift agreements with funders that meet both their and the Foundation’s needs. 
• Contribute proactively to team planning and performance monitoring, ensuring the programme is strategically focused to maximise its potential for sustainable growth. 
• Show enterprise and creativity in developing Trusts and Foundations fundraising. 
• Respond appropriately to stakeholders regarding requests for fundraising assistance. 

Analysis and research 

• Contribute to team-wide evaluation of the Trusts and Foundations programme in order to inform annual planning and wider departmental strategy. 
• Ensure that donor details and communications relating to your portfolio are adequately stored on the database and run data analysis and modelling as required. 
• Benchmark activity with other relevant organisations and use statistical results and trends to support new activity. 
• Undertake research, and work effectively with the Prospect Research team, in order to inform prospect cultivation. 

Team work, teaching and learning support 

• Form and communicate a clear vision of what is to be achieved, sharing plans with other teams as appropriate. 
• Present at staff training and induction events as required. 
• Work with other high-value fundraising teams, as well as the Prospect Research team, to ensure a coordinated approach to prospects. 
• Positively promote the work of the Trusts and Foundations team, both internally and externally, and represent the team – and the wider organisation – at stewardship and cultivation events, as well as at sector conferences and meetings. 
• Assist with other campaigns and special projects as and when necessary. 
• Provide occasional cover for other colleagues within the team and wider department. 
• Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Philanthropy. 

Working Environment:

The post holder should expect to: 

• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.  
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.  
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends. 

Role responsibilities are not exhaustive, and you would be reasonably expected to take on wider tasks that are commensurate with the level of your role.

Job Summary

Beyond Sport has an immediate opening for a creative, results-driven storyteller with a passion for developing impactful, integrated marketing campaigns. Reporting to the New York-based Director of Content and Communications, the successful candidate will develop and deliver strategies that promote sport for social change and build audience support and engagement.

The Marketing Manager will collaborate with a cross-functional international team and external partners on compelling campaigns and collateral including social media advertisements, email campaigns, web pages and narrative content as needed. They will also support on special projects, events, fundraising initiatives and applicable program deliverables. This is a hands-on role for someone with long-term vision, an innovative mindset and is skilled at public engagement, education and enhancing brand visibility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy Development & Campaign Management

• Develop and implement strategic marketing plans and multi-channel campaigns that deliver to Beyond Sport’s organisational and departmental objectives, while increasing brand awareness and deepening audience engagement
• Collaborate with Digital Content Manager and internal staff on content planning, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across platforms.
• Responsible for overall day-to-day campaign management, including market research, audience segmentation, content development and execution and performance reporting
• Develop and implement SEO strategies, manage keyword research, optimise website contents and analyse performance to increase rankings and engagement.
• Oversee Google Ad Grants and Facebook/Meta Business Manager Ad accounts
• Assist with the continuous refinement of our audience personas and engagement workflows to enable quality user experiences
• Lead the creation of brand marketing materials and collateral, ensuring that the foundation has the right mix of assets and channels to successfully advocate for sport for social change
• Oversee the marketing budget and deploy resources efficiently
• Deliver on marketing elements for program partner and sponsor campaigns and initiatives
• Assist Digital Content Manager with bi-monthly e-newsletter as needed to maximize audience reach and engagement

Data & Analytics

• Leverage expertise in market research, consumer insights and data analysis to optimize campaigns, attract and retain subscribers and ensure maximum ROI.
• Implement digital marketing best practices, including audience personas, A/B testing, SEO, SEM, social media, content marketing, etc.
• Track and analyse campaign performance and ROI; adjust KPIs and strategies as necessary to achieve targets
• Convert complex data into understandable reports; present the results to management and partners as needed
• Collaborate with Digital Content Manager on social media strategies to increase daily engagement and grow followers
• Input on most suitable data capture and metrics evaluation strategies

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in marketing and/or communications roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
• Experience working internationally or with diverse international stakeholders a plus.
• Excellent knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques, including social media platforms, email marketing software, post schedulers and web analysis tools
• Be well versed in paid and organic media, content marketing, lead generation, optimization and interpreting data to improve performance
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
• An artistic eye and experience with graphic design, eg. Canva or Adobe Photoshop
• Tech-savvy, keeps up to date with digital media and market trends as well as traditional and emerging technologies
• Experience with budgeting and calculating ROI projections
• Proficiency with CMS and email platforms; familiarity with WordPress, Mailchimp and Zoho CRM a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and leadership levels
• Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to navigate multiple projects, priorities, deadlines and personalities effectively
• A philanthropic and global outlook; an interest in sport and social impact desirable

About Barnet African Caribbean Association
Barnet African Caribbean Association is a small but long-standing registered charity dedicated to supporting older. Many of our members live with long-term health conditions such as the effects of stroke or dementia.

We run a weekly day centre on Tuesdays, where we bring people together to enjoy a hot meal, social activities and companionship. From exercise classes, arts and crafts, quizzes and games, to health visitor sessions, our programme is designed to promote wellbeing, reduce isolation and celebrate culture.
