Job Title: Service Manager
Location: Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC)
Salary: £38,700
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. Onsite face to face service, with flexibility around these hours required. All managers, including this position will take part in the out of hours on call duty.

About the Service Manager Role

We're looking for a natural leader, someone with experience in supporting people who have struggled with homelessness, substance use, mental health, and/or offending backgrounds. You will be confident in your experience and knowledge and be able to use this to support and lead your team to feel empowered within their roles so they can deliver a seamless and supportive service to our residents to overcome their own personal challenges, and to achieve their personal goals and milestones.
You will have a passion for what we do, and an understanding of the multiple needs that our residents may have, and able to provide a solutions based approach in your work. This role is perfect for someone who is determined, takes pride in their work, and is able to motivate a diverse team. The role includes:
- Leading and motivating a team to deliver high-quality care and support
- Managing complex situations and driving service improvements
- Support a team who directly support individuals in their recovery journey
- Working closely with other teams and organisations to ensure the right support is provided

What we're looking for in a Service Manager:
- Experience in supporting people who have multiple and complex needs including mental health, homelessness, substance use, offending backgrounds
- Experience in frontline, and now able to empower a team to deliver a seamless service
- Confident leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate a team. While you’ll have support from management, this role requires someone who can take ownership and lead with confidence
- Confidence in using IT; we use various systems and software's so need someone who is confident in learning new IT skills and can navigate around computer systems
- Ability to drive the service forward and implement improvements
- Confidence in managing complex situations and making decisions
- Ability to work at pace, using initiative, making decisions, and proactiveness in your approach

- Commission, edit, and deliver high-quality content in partnership with editors, contributors, and topic experts.
- Support the Publications and Communications Committee to ensure consistent quality and alignment with organisational goals.

Our Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) groups are where group members who are living with dementia and other cognitive impairments can participate in meaningful and stimulating activities, proven to help maintain memory and mental function. The groups provide a fun, supportive environment where people can build new relationships. MCST Activities include discussions, word games, quizzes, physical activities and creative and musical activities.
Our monthly Memory Cafés offers a relaxed, informal setting for people with dementia and their family, friends and carers to get together. The Memory Cafés provides a mixture of talks, information and advice, entertainment and activities

As the Adult Carers Activities Coordinator, you will directly deliver our leisure break activity and training programmes. You will plan, deliver, promote and review a programme of activities for adult carers, including outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. The core aim of the activity programme is to provide carers with a much needed break from their caring responsibilities, in a safe and social environment where they can meet other carers and focus on their wellbeing.

- To research and continually develop the activities and training programmes to ensure it is responsive to carers needs.
- To create promotional material to promote activities and training opportunities to carers registered with Richmond Carers Centre.
- To work with Adult Carers Support Team Leader to ensure activities are within budget, achieving targets and meeting the requirements of funders.

We are looking for a permanent and full-time member of staff to help develop and manage RSTMH’s profile within tropical medicine and global health. We need a passionate and creative communicator who can play a key role in meeting our communications objectives. This role is office-based in central London, with the option to work from home on Mondays.
RSTMH is a membership society formed in 1907, with around 1,800 members and Fellows in over 100 countries. We work to improve tropical medicine and global health by enabling and promoting research, sharing knowledge and convening networks through our members and Fellows and beyond. The Communications Manager will have the opportunity to develop and enhance RSTMH’s reputation as a credible and trusted voice in tropical medicine and global health.
This is a wide-ranging and exciting role. You will lead on implementing the organisation’s communications strategy, working with the leadership team to ensure it meets the aims of the wider RSTMH strategy. You’ll maintain and further develop the website and social media platforms, build links with media contacts, and source, commission and develop content. You’ll manage relationships with key suppliers, including website developers, strategic partners, digital media and creative agencies. You’ll also be responsible for delivering RSTMH’s newsletters to our members and Fellows, and global network of supporters.
We’re looking for someone ambitious and solutions-focused with a passion for communications to deliver creative and innovative content.
