You will also work with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing to shape four individual giving campaigns a year and two legacy awareness campaigns a year. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to keep fundraising information on webpages and social channels active, ensuring regular promotion of charity challenges and shaping digital mobilisation efforts which will build the charity’s supporter base, attracting more new donors.
You will support regular reporting on performance towards financial targets, working closely with colleagues to reconcile income, ensure Salesforce records and reports are up-to-date and that integrations support automated data flows.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and management
- Implement our ambitious plan for institutional relations, staying aligned with the organisation’s objectives and responding appropriately to the external environment.
- Contribute to the implementation of the network-wide institutional funding strategy.
- Lead, empower and motivate your team to achieve their goals, providing support as needed.
- Manage the team budget, including planning, phasing and forecasting in line with the organisation’s financial procedures.
- Participate as an active and constructive member of the Leadership Team, promoting a positive culture, modelling excellent behaviour and supporting cross-organisational initiatives.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to the Chief Executive, trustees and Federation as required.
Institutional Relations
- Lead the team in ambitious engagement strategies for all donors in the portfolio, particularly the FCDO, Start Network, Australian DFAT and Irish Aid, strengthening existing relationships and, where appropriate, developing new ones.
- Ensure the team develops and maintains expertise on UK donor priorities, expectations and compliance requirements and is proactively analysing, interpreting and sharing this knowledge internally with relevant colleagues across the Federation.
- With your team, build the ability of our country programmes to engage with our donors locally and to comply with donor requirements, including through training.
- Oversee the process of identifying, analysing and sharing new funding opportunities with relevant colleagues, taking a lead when needed on coordinating large multi-country/framework bids to our donors.
- Maintain a network of contacts at other organisations and, working closely with operational and technical colleagues, build relationships with potential partners, including supporting the development of consortia for new bids when required.
- Contribute to building HI’s capacity to bid for and manage commercial contracts, including frameworks.
- Support the team with risk-based contract analysis and negotiation, due diligence and donor compliance.
- Ensure your team is delivering timely and high-quality reporting and grant/contract management, including follow-up of payment requests and tracking.
- Oversee the team’s information management tools and champion HI-wide internal processes and tools such as the CRM.
- Participate in the Bond Disability and Development Group, including supporting its influencing to promote greater emphasis on disability inclusion by the UK Government.
- Monitor and respond to threats and opportunities relating to the UK aid budget and aid policy, as well as for other donors in our portfolio where capacity allows.
- Support your team, the Chief Executive and technical colleagues to engage appropriately with other relevant networks in the UK to influence the UK government and raise HI’s profile (e.g. on specific crisis contexts, the impact of counter-terrorism legislation, health, education, humanitarian mine action, climate change etc.).
- Contribute to engaging with the Start Network and implementing our Start Network strategy.
Other duties
- Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with HI UK colleagues and the Federation’s institutional funding, operations and advocacy teams.
- Represent the organisation at relevant external events and meetings.

The Role

Your main accountabilities will include:

We are seeking an experienced communications lead to join our external engagement team and play a key role in shaping Martingale’s external profile and scholar recruitment.
As Communications Manager, you will lead on several critical aspects of Martingale’s work including all external communications from social media to PR, and brand management. Crucially, you will lead on the annual recruitment campaign for Martingale’s Postgraduate Scholarships. This three-month campaign each autumn is a fundamental part of Martingales work, ensuring we are finding and supporting as many talented people to apply as possible. - Ensure widespread marketing of the Martingale Scholarship opportunity across the UK, including in media (e.g., student newspapers), on university campuses and on graduate job boards.
- Coordinate an effective paid advertising campaign across multiple channels.
- Directly engage prospective scholars to increase interest and convince them to apply for Martingale opportunities. For example, leading email campaigns, visiting university campuses, or hosting webinars.
- Build relationships with university academics, careers departments, student societies, graduate careers platforms, and other organisations who work with Martingale’s target audience. Encourage them to share Martingale opportunities to relevant people.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Operational Leadership
· Lead the day-to-day running and strategic direction of the charity in line with the Board’s vision.
· Develop, manage, and oversee the charity's resources and workstreams.
· Ensure governance, compliance, and policies/procedures remain in good shape.
· Support the Board with fundraising strategy and financial accountability, including financial forecasting and reporting to funders.
2. Programme Management & Delivery
· Directly manage the Programme & Projects Manager and the Regional Event Leaders, and assist in the recruitment process for the newly established Volunteering Co-ordinator and the Wellbeing Coach/Coordinator roles.
· Drive the delivery and expansion of our core programmes, including the Physical Activities (Walk & Talks, Sports Hubs), Volunteer Engagement, Community Partnerships and the Personal Wellbeing Plans (PWP)18.
· Develop and implement the Marauders Pathway Programme to establish a culture of good citizenship and peer support.
3. People & Volunteer Management
· Provide leadership, support, and development for staff, managing issues such as payroll, sickness, and holidays.
· Oversee the Volunteer Co-ordinator to develop a comprehensive volunteer management process, including recruitment, training, and 'Reward & Recognition’.
· Help inspire 100 men to give back to the community through volunteering.
4. Partnerships & IT Development
· Maintain and forge new community partnerships (e.g. with voluntary organisations, NGO’s, other charities and social enterprises) to enhance volunteering, education, and wellbeing services.
· Spearhead the development of our IT Platform, focusing on a robust website and a Beneficiary Management System (CRM) for efficient reporting, data capture, and engagement.
· Oversee digital marketing and communications, including newsletters and social media content.

About the Role
We are looking to appoint an Operations Officer to help build and scale our social enterprise. You will report to the Head of Operations. Operations Officers are a crucial part of our Services Team. You will be the main point of contact for our partner charities, receiving referrals for personalised budgets and processing these on a weekly basis. You’ll be responsible for managing incoming cases, liaising with support workers, providing advice and guidance about each case, light touch financial support, and releasing personalised budgets to clients across our contracts. You’ll work closely with our partners around the UK to ensure our personalised budgets reach as many people as possible and our contracts are a success.
The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organised, possesses excellent attention to detail, confident in communicating to partners and at ease delivering presentations. We’re looking for people who are proactive, restless for change and want to be part of an innovative solution to ending homelessness for good.
About Greater Change
Founded in 2018 by Alex McCallion and Jonathan Tan, Greater Change is an innovative social enterprise focused on helping people overcome the financial barriers on their pathway out of homelessness using personalised budgets. We partner with charities and support workers who refer people to us who would benefit from our financial support. The personalised budgets (supported cash transfers) we provide are typically for rent deposits, ID documents, training courses etc.
On average, Greater Change spends £1400 per individual and last year 85% of the people we supported sustained their move into stable housing, saving the public purse over £41,000 per person per annum.
Our goal is ultimately to use personalised budgets as a dignified and effective tool to end homelessness.
Main Responsibilities

Manage referrals end to end, including receiving, triaging, and processing cases to ensure timely release of funds to partner organisations.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on our CRM to track referrals, case progress, and outcomes.

Provide financial case planning support for each referral, using a strengths-based approach to support individuals to move away from homelessness.

Process weekly payments and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Liaise closely with support workers in partner organisations to progress referrals and resolve issues.

Onboard, train, and support partner charities, including scoping calls, delivery of training sessions, workshops, and bespoke support and resources.

Ensure high-quality partnership management across all contracts, including the development of tailored resources as required.

Prepare operational and monitoring reports for partner organisations, lead partners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.

- Proven partnership-building skills, with the confidence and ability to build new relationships and maintain existing partnerships with charities.

- Previous experience working in the housing and/or homelessness sector, either at charities, local authorities or similar.
- Previous experience managing and tracking cases, especially supporting vulnerable clients to reach their goals or a positive outcome.
- A good understanding of the housing system, homelessness, benefits processes and services which support people who are precariously housed.
- Strong IT skills in particular G-Suite, Canva and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using CRM systems, in particular Salesforce.

We are seeking a dynamic and organised Team Administrator to join our charity. You will manage the overall running of our office by maintaining our administrative processes, managing communications with housing associations and schools and working closely with the wider team in the implementation of training, workshops, events and projects.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing excellent admin support to the Programme Team and wider team
Guided by the Senior Programme Manager you’ll coordinate the administration of our programmes. You will work with the whole team to ensure contact details, registration forms, surveys and other relevant evaluation tools are completed and uploaded to our systems (CRM, Google Sheets, etc.) after workshops, activities, and other ad hoc events.
Being the go-to friendly face for our participants and partner organisations

Ensuring the Programmes Team and partners are workshop ready
Liaising with the Programme Manager and Senior Programme Manager you will make sure our workshop leads have the materials, equipment and details they need to run high quality sessions. You will send out emails and text reminders to facilitators, schools and schemes for upcoming workshops.
Communication and information support
You will support our communications as directed by the Fundraising and Communications Lead. Supporting InCommon’s events, managing correspondence with event attendees, procuring event materials, equipment and resources to ensure a high standard of delivery. Managing the InCommon Office

Borders Forest Trust (BFT) is a charity established to restore native woodland habitats to Southern Scotland, an area with the lowest percentage of native woodlands in mainland Scotland. Since 1996, they have been working towards planting trees, restoring peatlands and other natural habitats, enriching the biological diversity of around 31 sq km in the Southern Uplands. They demonstrate large scale ecological restoration in action, and inspire landowners, statutory bodies, local communities and policy makers to embrace this alternative model for land use and conservation.
Fundraising to date at BFT has seen success, but it has been responsive and ad-hoc as opposed to planned according to strategic need. To achieve their mission, and provide sustainable long-term income, in May 2025 they invested in their first dedicated Development Manager. The post holder has recently secured the Chief Executive post at BFT and as such, we are looking to back fill the role of Development Manager.
