Main Responsibilities

To provide emotional support over the telephone and through our written platforms to people living with and affected by diabetes. The role involves proactively updating your knowledge of diabetes and key issues by reading relevant information updates. To be a team player, contributing to a positive, supportive environment and undertake any reasonable task as requested by a manager appropriate to the role.

Ideal Candidate

You will be able to communicate health information clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences, with the aim to support customer queries to the best of your ability. You will be able to show resilience and manage the everyday pressures which can occur during a live service and prioritise your workload to meet customer satisfaction and service level agreements. You will be able to handle distressing calls in real-time by listening carefully and allowing the customers to feel safe in sharing with us. You will be confident and competent in using IT and different IT packages and programmes, with an openness and willingness to learn new IT systems, such as a new CRM.

Job Description

PROGRAMME DELIVERY

• Programme Delivery: Plan and deliver activities, opportunities and events for young people in line with programme objectives, processes and guidance.

• Programme Content: support and contribute to the development/review of programme content, resources and communications such as newsletters.

• Impact and evaluation: Support the collection of monitoring and evaluation data, facilitating evaluation activities within training sessions and events as required; contribute to ongoing processes of programme learning and review as a member of the delivery team.

• EDI: Work with the Programme Manager to ensure that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion are embedded in the process of programme development and curriculum design, including learning styles and accessibility.

• Youth engagement and insight: Collect and process feedback from schools and young people

• Safeguarding: Uphold safeguarding and child protection policy and procedure throughout, including reporting safeguarding concerns and disclosures to DSL and uploading to MyConcern.

PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION

• Stakeholder engagement: Manage day to day relationships with programme participants and external organisations/individuals supporting delivery, including managing the main anti-bullying inbox

The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.

You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.

This role is about;

• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);

• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;

• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;

• coordinating a range of activities (mainly online) to deliver information to Members, potential Members, referrers, and other stakeholders. These will include online talks from staff, Members and other “subject matter experts”; and

• helping to ensure the charity continues to understand the developing needs of its Members.

Although the role is home-based, you will not be working in isolation; you will be supported by the managers and workforce.

Working alongside colleagues in the wider HR function, as HR Shared Services Manager you will lead a small HR services team to provide an effective and efficient end-to-end employee lifecycle service to the organisation. With a focus on delivering an excellent customer experience and a drive to achieve continual improvement, this is a diverse, operationally orientated and fast paced role that requires accuracy and an in-depth understanding of HR policies and processes.

Key responsibilities in the role will include:

• Managing and developing the HR Services team in the delivery of high quality, consistent daily HR support for all employee lifecycle processes, systems and activities
• Continually driving process improvements, identifying issues and working with HR colleagues and wider teams to deliver solutions
• Identifying and introducing service levels (SLAs) to meet work volumes and stakeholder needs
• Overseeing and maintaining the accuracy of employee lifecycle data entry into Workday
• Producing reports and other MI to monitor consistency and support improvements to services delivered by the team
• Coaching and motivating the team, identifying training and development opportunities to optimise performance to maximise potential

To be considered you will require:

• A track record of delivering process improvements in a customer-focused HR Shared Services environment, operating at managerial, or supervisory level
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to engage and motivate a team to deliver an excellent service
• Experience of developing SLA's with a continuous improvement approach
• A naturally inquisitive, creative and proactive approach to problem solving and initiating solutions
• Confident stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills with the ability to confidently challenge
• Excellent IT skills and experience of working with an HRIS (Workday would be ideal)
• Up-to-date knowledge of employment law

We are now launching pilot programmes Sierra Leone and as the International Programme Manager, you will manage the launch and delivery of these programmes and be passionate about ensuring young people are given opportunities to learn, earn and thrive.

You will work with various stakeholders, from a mixture of governments, NGOs, corporate partners and employers to support them to deliver safe and impactful programmes to agreed targets. You will report on progress to both internal and external stakeholders, becoming the local partners’ ‘critical friend’ and focal point of contact, and support them in setting up new programmes. This may include delivering programme design, training and producing toolkits and resources, and developing evaluation frameworks. You will work with local partners on all aspects of programme delivery, from project implementation, review, monitoring and evaluation and budget management. 

You will have extensive experience of supporting organisations to deliver safe and impactful programmes, with a good understanding of skills development programmes, especially in relation to employability, entrepreneurship and education. This will be coupled with significant experience of working in Sub-Saharan Africa. Specific experience of working in, Sierra Leone and the ability to communicate in the country’s language, Krio would be advantageous and is highly desirable.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to take on the day-to-day running of the Digital Champions project and network. Digital Champions are volunteers who inspire and motivate others to get online, while encouraging and supporting them to develop their digital skills and confidence. As the project continues to evolve, there will be an increased focus on Digital Champions placed in local health care settings across the borough. Digital Champions will operate at local community venues including Community Pharmacies, Phlebotomy clinics, and at community events, with a strong focus on NHS App promotion to Bexley residents. This is an opportunity to be at the centre of an exciting, innovative partnership project, working closely with the statutory and voluntary sector partners in taking the scheme into a new phase of development. Key Duties:

• To be the first point of contact for the existing network of Digital Champions in the borough, and support organisations to recruit, onboard and manage new Digital Champions.
• To directly manage a pool of Digital Champions under BVSC and lead on recruitment, onboarding, and training.
• To organise regular online and face-to-face meetings for Digital Champions.
• To develop and implement a communications plan that raises awareness of the Digital Champions Network in Bexley and of the challenges and opportunities digital inclusion presents.
• To explore new opportunities with partners and the sector more broadly in a way that aims to expand the digital champions project and create a more digitally inclusive culture for Bexley residents.
• To organise regular events, training and information sessions for Digital Champions based on needs.
• To collect data and write reports on the project for presentation to partnership committees and health and wellbeing boards.
• To represent Bexley Digital Champions at London-wide and national forums and conferences.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision and training as required.
• Identify, report, and monitor any safeguarding concerns in accordance with the latest local procedures relating to the appropriate service.
• To comply with, and share responsibility for ensuring the implementation of, BVSC policies and procedures and key legislation such as GDPR and Safeguarding.
• Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be assigned from time-to-time including travel throughout the borough to attend events, answer phone enquiries, occasionally on evenings/weekends, meet with volunteers and organisations.
