The Head of Secretariat plays a pivotal role in supporting the governance, strategic coordination, communications, and operational effectiveness of the charity. This position ensures that the FIGO Board, FIGO Council, committees, and the FIGO member societies are well-supported, informed, and engaged, and that the charity’s governance and decision-making processes are transparent, inclusive, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

Job Purpose 

The weekend Home & Settle Project Officer is responsible for responding to referrals received over the weekend from both Royal London Hospital & Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will work with the manager on Friday to deliver services and plan visits on the weekend for you to attend.  

The service supports people returning after a stay in hospital, helping them to settle back at home, regain confidence and support with some practical tasks, e.g. shopping/cleaning.  You will manage referrals, carry out assessments, and in liaison with the manager, allocate service users to Discharge and Settle Worker caseloads. You will provide direct frontline support and co-ordinate visits to the service users’ home in preparation for their return home. You will work collaboratively to lead and manage the weekend service to support the smooth transition from hospital to home for service users.  The service is time limited, up to 4 or 6 weeks, to adjust, build confidence, and settle back in their homes. 

Key Tasks 

• Act as the first point of contact for all referrals over the weekend across both hospitals. 

• Meet with patients in the community and/or hospital and carrying out assessments and risk assessments.

• Enter referrals on to AUKEL’s case management system (currently Charity Log) in accordance with GDPR guidelines. 

• Allocate referrals to Discharge and Settle workers (in the week) using tech available (currently the Call Round App), training will be available. 

• Collect feedback from service users and upload to case management system. 

• Prepare and keep stock of AUKEL Welcome Packs and service leaflets. 

• Deputise for the manger at discharge planning and other meetings as required. 

• Support hospitals to improve the patient’s experience of the discharge process. 

• Monitor the case loads of each of the Discharge and Settle workers (DSW) to ensure they are evenly and fairly balanced. 

• Work collaboratively with other agencies providing support services. 

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary readmission to hospital. 

• Plan and develop person centred interventions to provide short term support for people after hospital discharge. 

• Deliver the front-line support services over the weekend

• Provide occasional cover for the A/L of other Project Officers

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital. 

• Supervise, support and develop DSWs and volunteers in your service. 

• Liaise with the handyperson service about referrals and jobs for service users. 

• Ensure DSW are resourced to sign post service users to other services when the home and settle service intervention ends. 

• Arranging access visits to service user’s homes. 

Administration 

• Keep AUKEL’s case management system up to date, input all data, and ensure all referrals, interventions, time spent with service users are recorded. 

• Allocate referrals to DSW using tech available (currently - Charity Log ‘Call Round’ App). 

• Ensure wards have good supply of service leaflets and referral forms. 

• Ensure data collected meets the requirements of the service’s contract monitoring and key performance indicators. 

• Ensure customer feedback questionnaires are sent at the end of each intervention and record returns. 

• Ensure admin tasks relating to service users, Discharge and Settle workers or general admin is carried out in a timely and efficient manner.

• Provide cover as needed, i.e. annual leave and sickness, for the services you manage, and other hospital settle services provided by AUKEL 

• Carry out monitoring of the service ensuring it meets the contractual requirements of commissioners. 

Quality  

• Be familiar with and to implement AUKEL policies and procedures. 

• Ensure the service is delivered in accordance with Care Quality Commission fundamental standards. 

• Ensure integration with other AUKEL projects, and service users are referred and/or sign-posted to appropriate support services available to them. 

• Respond to safeguarding or other concerns and make appropriate reports and management action 

Liaison 

• Represent AUKEL and participate in appropriate external meetings and events to remain aware of local, regional and national issues affecting quality and compliance affecting care and home support services. 

• Work in collaboration with hospital colleagues including discharge teams, A&E, ward staff, community teams to support the successful discharge of people and reduce readmission. 

• Liaise with other AUKEL home and settle services across London and work collaboratively to maintain effective services, including sharing staff where appropriate. 

• Work closely with the AUKEL handyperson service to meet contractual obligations where a handyperson service is provided as part of the service. 

• Liaise with contractors to arrange deliveries and works to service user’s homes. 

 General 

• Meet regularly with your line manager for support, supervision and appraisal. 

• Attend team and staff meetings, (and other meetings) as required. 

• Undertake any other duties within the competence of the post holder as may be required from time to time for the continued smooth running of AUKEL.

About Us

Grove Park Youth Club is an accessible and dedicated space for local children and young people, situated in a remarkable, purpose-built youth club building, constructed in 1966 as part of the Chinbrook Estate development. We are a registered charity (Ref No. 1196106) located on Marvels Lane in Grove Park (SE12 9PR), within the London Borough of Lewisham.

Our mission is to make Grove Park Youth Club a hub for local children and young people to learn, build connections, and explore and develop their interests. We provide a safe and welcoming space where young people can engage in fun and educational activities, sports and cultural activities, build life skills, as well as seek support with the pressures they face in the wider world.

The youth club is managed by a community-led Trust of people connected to the area who led a seven-year campaign to save and reopen the building. We are a small charity that has achieved exceptional success in reopening the youth club and taking control of this purpose-built space. This opportunity offers the right candidate the chance to play a key role in expanding our offer and working closely with the Trust to take our project forward. Accordingly, we offer a competitive rate of pay at £29.37 per hour.

GPYC Studios is our flagship in-house open access youth club launched in 2023, serving local children and young people aged 11–17 (up to 21 with SEND). Its ethos rests upon a creative approach to wellbeing, valuing empathy, acceptance, positivity, and growth. Our programming aims to spark curiosity and nurture self-discovery in a safe and inclusive environment. Through creativity, opportunity, and advocacy, we empower young people to make a positive impact on themselves, their community, and beyond.

Job Role

The GPYC Studios Creative Wellbeing Lead will work in close collaboration with the Trust and report directly to the Chair. This multifaceted role includes responsibilities across team leadership, programme development, outreach and engagement, partnership management, and on-site delivery. In addition to this, the Lead will be expected to fill the role of Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO), for which training can be provided for.

Whilst the role has a considerable administrative element, it is key that the Creative Wellbeing Lead brings a strong sense of creativity, flexibility, and play to the space. Being present and physically facilitating fun and constructive interactions with young people is crucial.

The Creative Wellbeing Lead will be supported by a Creative Wellbeing Assistant (to be recruited in February 2026) in both organising and delivering the programme, alongside two Creative Wellbeing Practitioners who specialise in pastoral care, and a team of sessional youth workers.

This is a part-time position, working 10.5 hours per week at a rate of £29.37. The role includes regular on-site presence during our sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (7 hours total). In addition, availability during standard working hours (Monday to Friday) is required to fulfil 3.5 hours of remote work. The role will commence in January 2026.

Contract type: Zero hours contract

Salary: £15,422 per annum based on a 50 week year (GPYC is closed for 2 weeks in Dec/Jan)
*NB. This equates pro rata, based on a 40 hour week, to an annual salary of £58,740

Rate: £29.37 per hour

Hours: 10.5 hours per week (7 hours on location at specified time, 3.5 hours remote work)

Probation: Initial period of 3 months, followed by a rolling six month contract

About You

The right candidate will be energetic and creative, with significant experience working with young people aged 11-17. You will be able to provide practical, physical, and emotional support to the children and young people attending GPYC Studios. You are eager to share your personal practice and keen to build upon it.

You will be excited about our work and want to be part of the greater Grove Park Youth Club journey, leading by example and working as a team player to shape how our vision is delivered and realised. You will deliver the existing programme with drive, and be ambitious to lead the sustainable expansion of the GPYC Studios brand.

Must have

• Significant experience working with children and young people (ages 11-17 preferred)

• Creative practice and/or perspective towards youth work

• Ability to lead by example: modelling leadership, confidence, healthy risk-taking, and emotional self-regulation

• Ability to implement safeguarding and behaviour management protocol

• Belief in the positive impact of creative programming on physical and mental wellbeing

• Right to Work in the UK, which should be provided at the time of application

• Valid DBS certificate (Enhanced preferred)

Preferable

• Degree level qualification in a relevant field

• JNC Youth Support Worker or Professional Youth Worker qualifications (or equivalent)

• Evidence training, skills, and/or experience in the following areas:

  • Safeguarding

  • Drugs and alcohol

  • Conflict resolution

  • CYP with SEND

• Experience with mentoring CYP

• Good knowledge and network of organisations engaging in youth work in Southeast London, including experience engaging with local schools

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, management, and operational delivery of our free, open-access youth club sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, overseeing a team of youth workers and volunteers to achieve a shared vision

• Bring a strong sense of creativity, flexibility, and play to all aspects of delivery - being physically present, actively facilitating, and inspiring fun and constructive interactions with young people

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise, manage, and complete tasks effectively, making full and efficient use of remote working hours

• Design and implement engaging, creative programming for children and young people, shaped by a strong creative vision and informed by youth voice

• Manage staffing logistics, including rotas, timekeeping, training, and staff motivation, ensuring a supportive and high-performing team environment

• Identify and engage potential community partners to coordinate and deliver fresh, fun, and creative opportunities

• Design and implement behaviour management strategies and safeguarding protocol

• Maintain accurate session documentation, including written records and photographic/videographic content, ensuring proper storage, organisation, and archiving of materials

• Oversee membership management, including onboarding new members, maintaining clear and consistent communication with parents and carers, and using IT systems, such as Salesforce, to manage and protect member data

• Lead outreach and engagement efforts within the local community and beyond, including through social media platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and others to build visibility and connection

• Embed a consistent ethos across all creative delivery partners, ensuring the values of GPYC and the Trust are clearly reflected in how children and young people experience Studios sessions, the space, and staff interactions

• Be a consistent, positive presence for children and young people, fostering an environment that is enriching, inclusive, and grounded in mutual respect

• Undertake other activities as agreed with the Trust to support the mission and development of GPYC Studios

The Mental Health Crisis Breathing Space (MHCBS) project is a national initiative providing debt respite for people receiving mental health crisis treatment. Toynbee Hall plays a key role in delivering this support through our dedicated Advice Team, which offers regulated debt advice, manages MHCBS renewal checks, and provides wraparound signposting to additional services.

The team is made up of skilled Debt Advisors and Project Administrators, supported by technical supervision to ensure consistent quality and compliance. The Advice Manager oversees the delivery and performance of this service, ensuring advice is accurate, person-centred, and aligned with Toynbee Hall’s high standards.

Through this collaborative and well-supported structure, the team helps people in crisis regain financial stability and build long-term resilience.

Job purpose

Lead and support the delivery of high-quality local services by working collaboratively with your team to ensure daily, uninterrupted provision. Provide clear guidance, set achievable targets, and foster a positive, solution-focused environment. Champion team objectives and encourage shared success. Monitor and audit advice quality to maintain compliance and consistency with internal and external standards. Build strong relationships with our contract lead, providing accurate reporting and constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement and service excellence.

Scope of role

The Advice Manager is responsible for the effective national management and delivery of the Mental Health Crisis Breathing Space (MHCBS) service. This role oversees day-to-day operations, ensuring that advice provision meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and compliance in line with both Toynbee Hall and Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) frameworks. Working closely with technical supervisors, quality managers, the Head of Quality and Compliance, and the contract organisation lead, the Advice Manager will ensure the service is performing effectively and meeting contractual targets.

The postholder will bring significant experience in debt advice delivery, including the ability to manage complex cases, creditor challenges, and service escalations with professionalism and sound judgement. They will lead and support a dispersed, largely remote team, oversee auditing and training, maintain oversight of billables, and ensure resources are used effectively. This role requires a balance of operational leadership and technical expertise to maintain service excellence across all areas of delivery.

Aston-Mansfield is a charity with a rich history of supporting children, young people, and families in East London since 1884. Based in Manor Park, the organisation focuses on four key areas: children and families, youth empowerment, mental health and well-being, and community development.

Breaking Boundaries Collective: Aims to reduce loneliness and isolation and build stronger relationships across different communities. This will be achieved by employing 16 Young Facilitators in key leadership roles as well as engaging 160 young people as Changemakers, providing training and development through learning days and Action Learning Sets using external free lancers.

Breaking Boundaries Collective will build on Aston-Mansfield's existing work and create a safer, happier, and more connected Newham for young people and the wider community. 

Role Overview 

As the Youth Programmes Manager, you will lead Aston-Mansfield’s Young Adult Programmes for individuals aged 16–25 in Newham and surrounding boroughs. You will oversee the delivery of funded programmes, develop new initiatives, and ensure high-quality workshops, training, and mentoring. This role also involves managing teams, budgets, safeguarding responsibilities, and building partnerships to support the charity’s mission of empowering young people and creating stronger communities.

This role will be a key part of our Philanthropy team, working on securing funding from charitable trusts and foundations with the capacity to give up to £30,000. The Philanthropy team is highly regarded, consistently bringing in over half of our organisation's total voluntary income.
