Job description

Join Us in Making a Difference at Marie Curie
Marie Curie is the UK's leading end-of-life charity, dedicated to ensuring that everyone facing the end of life has access to the care, support, and dignity they deserve. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK and the only organisation to operate across all four nations. Through our network of community nursing, hospice care, and comprehensive information and support, we are here for people and families when they need us most.

Your Role in Our Vision
We're seeking an enthusiastic Special Events Assistant to help deliver a portfolio of high-profile UK events that raise over £2 million annually - and we're aiming even higher! This is a fantastic entry-level role in event management and fundraising, offering training, development, and a real chance to make an impact.

In this fast-paced role, you'll manage multiple events, from high-value galas to corporate-led initiatives, creating and delivering impactful experiences.

This is more than event planning-it's a chance to be at the heart of our fundraising efforts, driving vital income, influence, and awareness while contributing to our bold vision.

- Manage donor experiences and help secure auction and raffle prizes.
- Write engaging event content and marketing copy.
- Build relationships with volunteers, supporters, and stakeholders.
- Keep key data and event records up to date.
- Help manage event logistics, stock, and suppliers.
- Be part of the action at events - from planning to delivery!
- Actively committed to Marie Curie's values, role models behaviours with authenticity and purpose.
- Managing multiple share inboxes

What you'll need
- Excellent written and oral communication skills - confidence in dealing with people at all levels, demonstrating professionalism and diplomacy.
- Ability to prioritise and plan own workload and competing demands.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- IT literacy including familiarity with web search engines, plus an up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building abilities with the personality to work
