Summary job description
As the Director of Programme Performance, you will be pivotal in leading a team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems. Your leadership will be critical in developing performance indicators and data pipelines that inform organisational and programmatic key results, guide data-driven decision-making, and deliver meaningful impact assessments.
The Director of Programme Performance will ensure the effective development of culturally relevant, community-centric performance indicators and alignment with donor requirements. They will collaborate closely with the Data Science and Technical Knowledge teams to design and refine performance indicators, implement monitoring frameworks, and develop data flows that align with Blue Ventures’ strategic goals.
This role also includes overseeing the integration of community feedback, fostering continuous learning, and ensuring that programmatic data informs adaptive management.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a strong background in marine conservation, socioeconomics, and MEL systems and experience working with small-scale fishing communities in diverse geographical contexts. This role will report to the Chief Technical Officer.

About the role
Kinship is undertaking a major feasibility Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of Kinship Connected. This is aligned with recommendations set out in the Kinship Care Practice Guide published by Foundations (2024) and builds on evidence from the Kinship Navigator intervention of support for kinship carers in the USA.
This feasibility RCT is a complex, multi-partner programme involving:
- An active funding partner
- An independent evaluation team
- 5 participating local authorities (to be confirmed)
- Internal delivery teams and cross organisational services
- Kinship carers and lived experience subject experts
The Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager is the operational engine of the programme, ensuring that every workstream is scoped, resourced, sequenced, delivered and evidenced, and that Kinship is trial-ready, compliant, and well-coordinated through set-up and delivery.
This role needs someone who is an excellent communicator, highly organised, unflappable, curious, and able to sit comfortably in the detail. The successful person will keep a firm grip on timelines, dependencies and risks.
You will manage a Programmes Officer as well as the set-up, processes, documentation, reporting, trial readiness, communications and cross-team coordination. You will work closely with the Programmes Manager who will share responsibility for ensuring high quality performance across the feasibility trial. You will both work closely with the core project team and partners.
You will lead operational quality, systems, processes, data, and compliance. The Programmes Manager will lead practice quality, staff development and supervision, safeguarding and relational delivery. Together you make sure the trial is delivered ethically, consistently and to a very high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the mobilisation plan across all workstreams and ensure trial readiness.
- Develop all processes, documentation and operational frameworks in line with the intervention protocol.
- Coordinate local authority onboarding, staff training and internal operational setup with the Programmes Manager.
- Work with internal Kinship teams to ensure everyone has clear expectations and is held to account for their performance during mobilisation and delivery – owning the workstreams.

Work with the Programmes Manager and Kinship Family Workers to strengthen referral and screening processes where appropriate.

Identify recruitment risks early and drive rapid problem-solving.

Lead operational quality assurance (QA) including data quality checks, file audits and process compliance.

Essential knowledge and experience includes:

Project Management Qualification or commensurate experience.

Significant experience managing complex projects or programmes with multiple partners and tight delivery requirements.

Proven experience designing and maintaining structured workflows, operational systems and project plans in fast-paced environments.

The Role
We are currently looking for a Retail Van Driver to join our Retail, Services and Operations team.
Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the donation centre and warehouse. The primary focus of this role is to deliver stock to our retail shops across Yorkshire in a timely manner. However, at busy times you will also be required to assist with general maintenance tasks and supporting with the removal of general waste through the appropriate channels whilst working in compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and our Driving for Work policy.
Specifically, you will:

Carry out deliveries of donated stock to shops ensuring that the shops receive the stock that they have requested from the Donation Centre.

Complete collections of furniture and goods across Yorkshire, including the disposal of waste materials, as directed.

Assist with the moving of furniture and other goods between shops and the Donation Centre. There will also be a requirement to collect goods from donors.

Be responsible for day-to-day vehicle maintenance, including completion of the weekly vehicle maintenance checklist and daily visual checks.

Ensure charity vehicles are left secure, clean and presentable at the end of the day and ensure any vehicle defects and damage promptly are reported in accordance with charity procedures.

Be an ambassador for the charity whilst driving branded vehicles, ensuring that you drive carefully and mindfully of other road users.

Create a positive, professional, warm welcome for all visitors.

Seek opportunities to actively engage with visitors to enhance their visit and further promote the profile of the charity.

We support at-risk young people who are care experienced, have mental health challenges, or are at risk of exploitation or offending.

Caudwell Youth shapes young people’s futures by providing person-centred support to at risk 11 to 24-year-olds through volunteer-led mentoring for up to 18-months, alongside a targeted intervention programme.

ABOUT THE ROLE
To support the Deputy CEO in ensuring the effective delivery and growth of Caudwell Youth’s services.

KEY DUTIES
Strategic and External Leadership:

- Ensure a youth participation and evidence-based approach in all aspects of service delivery and development.

- Develop, oversee and report against Operations department budget and plans.
- Oversee operational systems, risk assessments and data to ensure services are safe, needs-led and effective.
- Ensure safeguarding policies are embedded across delivery, acting as DSL if required.

Gilgal Birmingham is a specialist domestic abuse charity providing refuge accommodation and community-based support for women and children at risk of, or experiencing, domestic abuse. We offer emergency refuge spaces and a growing range of outreach services that help women rebuild their lives, access safety, and move towards independence.
We are seeking a Fundraising Manager - Bids and Trusts to secure and manage the funding that enables this vital work. This is a key strategic role leading our grants, trusts, statutory funding and corporate income pipeline, working closely with the CEO and Senior Management Team. You will be responsible for prospect research, high-quality bid writing, reporting, and building strong relationships with funders and partners. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can manage the full fundraising lifecycle and contribute to the growth of a life-changing service.
This is a part-time, remote position, but hybrid working in our Birmingham office is also an option.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning

Work with the CEO to implement Gilgal’s Fundraising and Income Generation Strategy.

Develop and maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and corporate partners.

Prepare a rolling income generation plan with timelines and bid targets.

Support the CEO in identifying opportunities for partnership bids and collaborative tenders.
Grants and Trusts

Research and identify suitable funding opportunities aligned with Gilgal’s priorities.

Develop strong, evidence-based funding proposals with clear outcomes and robust budgets.

Coordinate with service leads and finance staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Manage the full bid lifecycle, from identification through to submission, monitoring, and evaluation.

Maintain a funding tracker with deadlines, progress updates, and reporting requirements.
Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, trusts, commissioners, and partners.

Provide ongoing updates to funders to strengthen long-term partnerships.

Attend relevant meetings, events, and briefings.
Reporting and Monitoring

Produce clear, impact-focused reports for funders and stakeholders.

Work with colleagues to collect and analyse outcomes data to inform bids and reporting.

Review successful and unsuccessful bids to identify trends and improve future applications.

Support the CEO and Finance Director in aligning budgets with funder requirements.

Contribute to regular Funding Overview Reports and Income Generation Plans for the Board.

Essential Skills and Experience

About the Role

You will oversee all aspects of legacy marketing, legacy administration and in-memory giving, ensuring compliance, accuracy and sensitivity in this specialist area. Working collaboratively across the charity, you’ll embed best practice, enhance supporter journeys and maximise long-term income opportunities.

About You

The Role
As Warehouse Asssistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of Yorkshire Cancer Research’s warehouse. Supporting the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will focus on accurately picking, packing and preparing donated stock for distribution to retail outlets or beneficiaries.

Specifically, you will:
- Accurately pick stock from order lists that are sent to the Warehouse.
- Pack goods securely and appropriately for transport to Shops, Beneficiaries or Head Office.
- Pick, prepare and ship parcels for dispatch.
- Accept and put away deliveries from both external suppliers and our Donation Centre.
- Ensure stock is organised and accessible at all times.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
- Safely and efficiently load vans at the end of each day with the required stock.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Use equipment (eg. Trolleys, pallet jacks) safely and responsibly and in line with the training provided.

Key responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Plan, coordinate and deliver integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns and events to achieve income targets, ensure consistent messaging and strengthen supporter engagement across all channels.
- Work closely with the global communications team to deliver the organisation’s marketing and communications strategy in alignment with global objectives.
- Manage website content in WordPress, ensuring it is accurate, engaging, and regularly updated.
- Oversee the social media strategy, creating and scheduling high-quality content (using Canva and Later) to grow brand awareness and supporter engagement.
- Manage ambassador and influencer relationships to support campaigns, storytelling, and reach.

Fundraising

Unleashed Women – Community & Investor Stewardship
- Act as the primary staff relationship lead for the Unleashed Women community.

- Coordinate the planning, promotion and delivery of monthly virtual forums and quarterly in-person gatherings, working closely with the Executive & Operations VA on all logistics.
- Maintain regular communication and engagement with members through WhatsApp groups, email updates and event communications, ensuring consistent tone, warmth and responsiveness.
- Act as a key link between Unleashed Women and THP’s global country teams, ensuring meaningful programme engagement and feedback.

- Ensure all Unleashed Women activity is accurately reflected in Beacon and associated supporter systems.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain and manage the Beacon CRM database, ensuring accurate data capture, segmentation, and analysis to support effective fundraising, stewardship, and communications.
- Ensure all new and lapsed investors are correctly tagged and updated in Mailchimp, Beacon and other relevant systems.
- Evaluate and report on the performance of fundraising and marketing campaigns, interpreting data from CRM and digital platforms to measure impact and inform strategy.
Operations
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve key operational systems and processes to ensure efficiency and smooth day-to-day functioning.
- Coordinate and maintain fundraising platforms such as Benevity and JustGiving, ensuring campaign pages are accurate, up to date, and performing effectively.

· Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity.
· Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Policy and Public Affairs Manager to join our Research, Policy and Impact team.
Supporting the Head of Cancer Insight, you will continue to develop and deliver a policy and public affairs strategy, including influencing at a local, regional, and national level, with the aim of helping the charity achieve its strategy and bringing benefit to the people of Yorkshire. You will develop evidence-based policy reports and recommendations that can be used to influence a variety of audiences and project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of public affairs campaigns and events. As Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will also act as a source of expertise across the organisation and externally on key policy areas and the wider policy environment.
Specifically, you will:
Influencing
· Support the further development, refinement and delivery of the charity’s influencing strategy and impact evaluation process, in line with the charity’s own strategic ambitions.
· Lead the development of insightful written materials and reports to aid influencing.
· Lead the charity’s response to regional and national consultations relevant to cancer in Yorkshire, making a robust and evidence-based case for the charity’s position.
· Oversee the continued growth of the charity’s political monitoring work and ensure the effective pursuit of every opportunity offered.
· Engage with regional and national decision makers to influence policy-making for the benefit of people in Yorkshire and beyond.
· Grow relationships with key stakeholders across Yorkshire and beyond (such as DHSC, NHSE, Integrated Care Boards, Cancer Alliances, national policy groups, and other charities, to influence change based on policy recommendations.
Policy development
· Support the continued development of the policy production and dissemination process, including the policy development pathway, internal/external dissemination and impact evaluation.
· Lead the research, production and dissemination of high quality, evidence-based cancer-related policies and the strategic development of key policy recommendations.
· Oversee regular updates of existing policies and position statements, ensuring that topical policies are updated frequently.
· Ensure external insight is built into policies and policy development, such as gaining views from the Patient and Public Involvement Community, the inclusion of external patient and public contributors and endorsements from clinical and academic experts.
· Oversee work with relevant internal teams to create key messages for a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring these are in line with the latest evidence and are used correctly, and provide expert commentary on media stories.
· Act as a source of expertise on the charity’s cancer-related policies and position statements, both internally and externally. Undertake media interviews as required to communicate key messages with the public.
Campaigns and Events
· Project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of public affairs campaigns, in collaboration with the Brand and Relationships team where relevant, manage relationships with third parties to support campaign delivery where required.
· Lead the outreach and delivery of influencing events, including visits to charity-funded projects and party conference activity.
· Further develop and deliver of a strategy for growing and maintaining a handraiser supporter base, to enhance public affairs campaigns activity.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
· To have a degree in a relevant subject area, for example public policy, public health, scientific, medical etc.
· To have substantial experience of writing influencing materials such as briefings, letters, blogs, campaign materials.
· To have substantial experience supporting the implementation of high impact campaigns that engage the public and are designed to influence. Experience of working on campaigns that encourage behaviour change.
· To have experience of evaluating campaigns, and assessing the impact of policy and public affairs activities.
· To have excellent Public Affairs experience including understanding of local, regional and national government, the current health policy landscape as well as knowledge of UK parliamentary processes along with a proven track-record of engaging politically to make change happen.
· To have substantial experience of developing evidence-based policies for a health focused organisation.
· To have substantial experience of communicating health policy positions to a variety of audiences including for influencing purposes.
· To have a good understanding of the health care system in England.
· To be a strategic thinker with strong analytical, judgement and decision-making skills.
· To be able to sift out the essential elements from a mass of complex information, integrate and synthesise ideas, and present information to others in an accessible way.
· To be a pro-active and creative approach to policy work with an ability to identify and use external opportunities and a desire to succeed.
· To have excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills with the ability to interpret complex information and communicate this to a range of audiences so it is clear and accessible.
· To have excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise work, handle conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines with exceptional levels of accuracy maintained.
· To have strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to coach team members to encourage continued development and learning.
· To have strong networking, influencing and relationship management skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others, as well as the confidence and personal authority to work with external organisations.

The Role:
- Lead the Trust’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency and long-term financial sustainability.
- Act as a strategic financial partner to senior leaders, providing insight, analysis and recommendations that inform strategic and operational decision-making.
- Oversee financial management across all directorates, including cash flow, reserves and investment planning, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and risk appetite.
- Support the CFO in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for trustees, funders and other external stakeholders.
- Lead the monthly management accounts, year-end process, audit activity and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
- Develop and embed a strong business partnering culture, building financial capability, confidence and accountability among budget holders and project leads.
- Drive the continuous improvement of management accounting processes, reporting and controls to enhance efficiency, consistency and data integrity.
The Candidate:
We are looking for candidates who have the following:
- CCAB qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent international qualification).
- Proven experience leading management accounting and financial planning teams in a complex charity or commercial organisation.
- Significant experience developing and reviewing monthly management accounts, including reconciliations, variance analysis and forecasting.
- Excellent understanding of finance systems and data flow across diverse systems, including CRM integration.
- Demonstrable experience supporting restricted fund budgeting and monitoring, and financial partnering with fundraising or project-based teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
